Yes you should! The comic is just great, and it will give you much more details about the personality of the "heroes" and the alternate 1985 where this happens. It also have some chapters of a "book" written by a former hero, who allows you to see the problems they faced when they choosed to wear the vigilante's suit. This is the kind of comic that everytime you read it you'll find some new detail on a frame or a quote that improves the overall story. If you like comics, it is a must have.
You definitely should, though you probably won't need it to understand what's going on, but they sometimes change a bunch of things. V for Vendetta is also by Alan Moore (who wrote Watchmen) and they completely changed the ending and key elements of the story.
I think you mean near the end, that huge rotating sphere? Its a palace made by Mr. Manhattan to show why human life doesn't really matter. Read the book, or read the first page, cause you won't be able to stop.
Yes, I jist borrowed it from a friend, and read it in a day or two. It's so worth it, my other friend works at the local IMAX, so I'm going to see it opening night in IMAX!

The thing at the end? It's a palace made of glass, harened from the sand of Mars. Yep, they're on Mars in that scene.
