  • I'm impressed with the size of that mako shark but I think it's way more awesome that every one of the mayos know how to spell their own names. This family is GOING places!!!...... MAYO POWER.....!

  • I love Americans. I wanna go to America.

  • so a shark is dead? big whoop.

  • wtf is wrong with ppl all of them look so happy and they clap throughout the movie, you six ppl who caught this can go to hell.

  • i saw it

  • i wish that shark would have pulled the one with the pole in. and jumped up in the boat to a position where it could slip back into water, and drag someone else off the boat

  • They gonna go eat that shark? I hope they do! If not they shouldv'e let that guy go. Shark meat isn't that great...were they desparate?

  • @2224574 Mako is very tasty, and all tournament meat goes to homeless shelters.

  • Dickheads....why did they have to kill it? No good reason. A magnificent shark of rare size and they just had to kill it.

  • outstanding

  • what a shame

  • i know that guy who caught it he ius my uncles friend

  • Why do people have problems with killing specific fish? When you're fishing, no one says "I hope I catch a small fish" or "I don't want to catch anything". They say, I want to catch a big fish.

It's not an endangered species at all. That fish will be eaten by a lot of people for a long time. The glory is not "15 minutes", but for a lifetime. It's why people fish! Wasting it would be a shame. Not eating it would be a shame. That is not the case.

  • Should have let the big fella go...

  • it died on the boat like 2 min. after

  • Nice catch, now, was 624-pound weigh in, with or without that tuna lunch.

  • Should have let the Big Fella Go...

  • the tuna was right next to it

  • one of the best tasting fish in the ocean!

  • it was sad to keep that fish, regardless what is done with it. So sad to kill such a beautiful fish for 15 minutes of fame and glory.

  • Fishermen are one step above panhandlers

  • Fisherman saved this nation you dumbass. What do you think Washinghton was eating at Valley Forge? Salted cod that's what. How do you think it got there? Maybe someone caught the fish, oh yeah a fisherman caught it. Fishing is hard work, and you compare it to standing on a corner with your hand out. Your ignorance seems to know on boundries.

  • cod aren't sharks dumb ass

  • @zillafreak127 No shit Sherlock. I was responding to the person above who said, "Fishermen are one step above panhandlers".Making a historical point. Cod aren't sharks? Thanks for the news flash. Pay attention "dumbass".

  • @2456216 my point being, pecker neck. that sharks clean up the ocean, take tiger sharks for example, they have a digestive track strong enough to eat garbage, POLLUTION!!!! think of our ocean if sharks did not exist. there would be no fishing export, all salt water fish would be dead from pollution.

  • Hey lets all be typical stupid fat pig Americans and go down to the dock and clap at an incredibly sad waste of life.

  • It should be a crime to pull that animal out of its enviroment for a bunch of alpha male feather fluffing bs .Killing something for a record or sport is crap ...

  • If you even paid aIttention to the video you would realize they had a Blue Fin on the line when the Mako jumped on it. The Blue Fin catch this year has been tremendous. They did not set out to catch a record Mako that's what happen. I catch Blue Fin and NOTHING is wasted .People have been eating fish for eons. There are crimes for pulling certain fish , certain amounts , certain sizes and places. This is not any of those. Big fish eat smaller fish and people eat them . Cont.

  • That's how it has been for centuries. Killing sharks for their fins and dumping them overboard is a sin. Maybe you should do something a bout that.Catching a big fish and eating it is part of life . Get over it.

  • As a lifelong recreational fisherman, I understand the temptation to land and keep that big one! But what a tragedy to kill such a magnificent animal. Unless the town of Scituate has a taste for shark fin soup and shark steaks, I suspect the final fate of this beautiful animal will be as lobster bait.

    Cohasset

  • Pardon your ignorance Tombell. The shark was converted into delishious steaks. Mako is one of the finest eating fishes in the ocean, very similar to swordfish only less oily.

  • We saw the shark when it came into the harbor it doesn't matter if it's the biggest MALE it's still one big shark

  • Not the largest mako, largest MALE mako
