nothing else in the 20ft range is faster than the tornado in any kind of waves, and unlike the f-18 class, a range of crew weights can be competitive in the tornado class.
First things first, if I could afford a Tornado, I'd have one - but:
"Outdated every year" - you know better than this, it's not "outdated" because by class rules, it can't be - not because there isn't better technology in hull design available!
Retaining value simply isn't true - after a few years, the boats are sold off at huge discounts.
The Tornado needs a formula approach, the hull should stand on it's own merits, not class rules - it should be far faster than the F18 than it is.

Great boat, too bad it's 3x the price of an F-18 and the hull hasn't really been updated since the 60's.
