Yugioh Tech for Talk # 7 Heavy Slump

It was one of the first cards that I say and went, "Well, that's gotta be the shittiest card in history." I often have been really wrong, for the reason that no one knows or thinks about them.

Heavy Slump could see some tech additions to the more offensive 'meta' deck. I mean with Heavy's and MST's in the meta, players love keeping cards in their hand. If they add draw power to this conservatism, you might be able to punish them. Still, The condition of it I believe is too situational.

its insanely situational. nice concept, but no way it will work in main deck. side deck maybe if ur opponent has like 3 maxx Cs and ur deck mainly focuses on SSing.

Hahahaha they are mocking Americans with this card but on a more serious note I highly doubt this card is a good option for Maxx C. You'be be better off with Debunk. For this card to work you need a deck that's dedicated to helping your opponent draw which generally is a bad idea.

I wouldn't say it's insane to run, since everyone is running Maxx "C", but it's a big dead draw if they don't have it in their hand, if you don't have a special summon explosion to go off, or even if they draw with Maxx "C" but don't get more than 8 cards. I feel it's not consistent enough to play.

There's also Bubble Crash, it can severely minus your opponent just by using it especially with Maxx "C" plays being abundant and decks with high draw power. It's a great anti-meta card, try checking it out sometime ^^

I have about 12 copies of this card, it's ancient! But again, I've never played it because when does anyone have more than 7 cards in their hand? It's a little too situational to be good... But it could be worth exploring.

Not worth the main deck space at the moment. Decent side deck material. Helps in Wind-Up loops to push through the Maxx C and continue their loops.

Besides "MAXX-C" I just thought right now of a combo with this trap too XD.... you can use it with BRIONAC by discarding your hand in order the opponent would have 8+ cards in hand if he/she already has as many cards in hand as in the field thought, but still a little situacional i guess XD

Heavy Slump is a card that is only going to be good in a meta when there is a lot of draw power consistently being used in 90% of the decks out there. Having eight plus cards in hand may not seem like a lot but you should be forcing your opponent to burn those resources every turn so they don't even get those large hand sizes. Cards like Needle Ceiling, Bubble Crush, and Magic Drain serve better tech cards and often give a similar or better result in burning away opposing resources.

its ok for the right situations, but the problem is....there are few currently use situations that this could be used....its good for as you said, maxx c, but also for decks that need a hand ex tragodia, slipher, enraged muka muka, and so on.....but with decks that have no or little hand like darkworld and infernity decks, its a useless filler.....just sayin

This is so weird, I was thinking about that card last week. If you draw it with gift of greed on the first turn you'd get a huge advantage. Really works great to counter Maxx C. But it's really too situational, which is why I don't deck this.

lol, Anti maxx c? i wouldnt use it, only since it doesn't seem consistent enough. IMO its good when maxx c is use, but other than that, it can be a big dead draw. unless your opponent runs like 3 maxx c, and u go off like crazy on your turn, its not worth it. IMO

Eh seems a little too circumstansial (spelling sucks today =/ ) for common use would cripple Exodia decks but i think an overlooked gem is Nordic Relic Laevateinn tell me what you think of that =)

My friend set that card and does the combos setting 3 Barriers back row and has Doom Dragon and Archfiend on Field. Opp draws like 15-17 cards. Opponents turn: Opp draws, my firend flips Heavy Slump.. Opp scoops and rages...

good against exodia otk? And any deck with a ton of first turn draw power. Or a ton of draw power.... I think it might be a good side if you have room for other cards and/or don't have the cards you need. I think it would be a great card to throw people off, especially in the first duel of the match. Use it on them, then they realize that they can't draw alot or they'll have a heavy slump, so then they hold back on the next duel and all you have to do is switch it out. I would use it!
