  • very cool love it!

  • I find it funny how the tardis's interior sorta goes in reverse...

what I mean is that in the old series it was bright and futuristic but in the new it's dark and old-school...

when I first got a good look of the 11th doctor's tardis interior I felt it was much more steam-punky than the 9th and 10th one's...

  • lol the map on the wall is a mpa of knowen space in the alpha quad of our galaxy and it has the main bodys that control it (federation kilingon romulan and cardasian) im nerding out now

  • This is great! I love the smooth buttonless console idea and the workshop! I'm not to keen on the design inside the hexagonal pillar. It looks a bit pixally which dosen't really fit in in my opinion. Apart from that, it's incredible! Love the old canes in the workshop!

  • Oh I like this very much :)

  • Please make this available on mobile! :)

  • Very Beautiful

  • Genius, genius, genius without doubt...genius

  • I want this TARDIS consol room! Amazing. The consol could be made using Windows Surface technology. Very cool.

The only thing I dont see is a scanner screen. Where is the scanner?

    Love all your work.

  • That's lovely!

  • What program did you render this in?

  • that is better than the newer tardis interior by far

  • Just awesome.

  • Absolutely beautiful. You have a talent for redesign that accentuates and pays homage rather than trampling the original glory of the Hartnell console room.

Also... I love all the props from previous stories in the sliding wall cupboard. Have to love that wooden Knossos throne replica..!

I'd really like to see a longer video showing us a kind of virtual walkthrough tour of the rest of the corridors and rooms. Maybe even the oft mentioned swimming pool that we never saw in the original TARDIS!

  • What was this beauty created in?

  • Absolutely LOVE it - I like you, found the Five Doctors console room the best, and I love the way you've added touch screen technology. Excellent work!

  • Excellent!Thats like how the Tardis SHOULD be if it got a upgrade :)

  • The best console room I've ever seen...

  • Can you make a full interactive version of this? I'd love to take a stroll around this layout.

  • pretty cool

  • absolutly amazing well done

  • The Master's TARDIS was the grandfather clock...

  • Now I really wished the BBC had used this as the new TARDIS interior - FAR FAR better than what they are using at the moment. Well done - outstanding job.

  • oh that is beautiful

  • would I be able to use this as my console? (have me with a greenscreen behind me) for my own Doctor Who?

  • That's what the Tardis should look like. Much better than that current designs. Best laugh is that one of the designs they scrapped was similar to yours!

I like the 7th Doctor's brolly sitting in with the 1st's walking stick. Nice touch.

  • I would love it if the TARDIS nowadays was of this design... Absolutely epic!

  • god, am I the only person who doesn't completely hate the steampunkish-look of the new console. Yeah, didn't look that great in the first 4 seasons, though the organic-look was a bit interesting since the Tardis is supposed to be alive, but the new console seems to do it much better. for a render of a tardis, theres like twice the amount of people bitching about how moffat ruined Doctor who and killed Tennant and changed stuff and yadda and like 2% actually talking about this video.

  • I like this: A touch screen TARDIS console! Very Modern and very Star Trek ;)

  • @themindrobber This console should of been built for the NS, I hate the new "broken parts from a bin" look that they use now

  • @beentheredone THANK YOU! I hardly watch the NS because it's like a spin off or something. I really wish somebody like "themindrobber" had tried to bring the show back. Somebody who actually LIKED the original series to begin with! Every other word out of R.T. DAVIES mouth (in those "Doctor Who Confidential" breakdowns) is about how "...nothing ever looked right Doctor Who..." because they had no money. Wonder why he wanted to have anything to do with Doctor Who if it was such crap.

  • Great Work! It would be great to see this used in Doctor Who, looks much more 'Sci-Fi' than the current one :)

  • beautifull work! brilliant in fact, could you please show what the cloister room would look like?

  • Absolutely fantastic work (FOUR STARS!), I always loved the TARDIS with a futuristic interior not the hodgepodge of today though I know there is a reason for it. Best rendition on the web!

    Thanks for the glimpse!

  • Come and work for me in Second Life and build this console :P I simply love it.

  • WOW!! That is simply amazing!! I liked the old battered and industrial look of the Tennant era TARDIS, but was never keen on the "odds and ends" control panel..then with the Smith Tardis, I liked the size and "new look", but again, the "odds and ends" controls I think are too cartoonish.. I really like your design! I have not looked yet, but do you have more to it? like passageways to to other parts of the TARDIS?

  • Lovin' your work, the sort of console room we should have had in 2005 to be honest.

  • Loving the map of the alpha quadrant circa late 24th century tucked away there ;)

  • This is the Master's Tardis. The Doctor would never have anything working this good.

  • @southport97

Just because it "looks" high-tech and perfect doesn't mean its not battered, obsolete and broken

That was the point from the very beginning of the show, I think :)

  • This is the most natural and logical progression of what an upgrade of The Doctor's TARDIS would or should look like! When the technology to make REAL TARDIS travel machines is devised, THE ONES THAT ACTUALLY WORK WILL LOOK LIKE THIS!

    OUTSTANDING!

  • I love the sound of the time rotor movement it's so relaxing where do you get it from?

  • Hi... Where Did You Get That Sound From 1:02 - 1:17 ?

  • I love it this is a nice design

  • Pure beauty. (Love the Mona Lisa tucked under the desk - comical). The Doctor.

  • First off, I loved that Tardis interior! Beautiful! Secondly, don't think I didn't notice the Star Trek Territory Map you used for the poster on the wall of the workshop alcove!

  • Holy Crap !! This design is incredible. Mr Moffett should see this

  • Holy Cow Thats a Good T.A.R.D.I.S I especially like this bit 0:58 but it is very similar to the 1970's design and there is not much color apart from that i think it's amazing

  • That is really cool. What software did you use to create this?

  • That's awesome!

Although, it's a bit too organized for the Doctor, don't you think?

  • i like Your TARDIS mate i really do. if your interested ive got my own 3d model i made of my own version of the TARDIS. it looks a little basic due to the program i used which was google sketch up but im proud of it none the less.

  • The only thing that doesn't work for me is the wall with the flat roundels. Would it be possible to have it so that it has a wall with the deep recesses lifts vertically from over the top of it, and then a flat wall behind it opens as a door to the workshop?

  • MARRY ME!

  • Perfect! I wish we could have had something like this for the new series. In other words, something bigger, meatier and more solid, but still bearing the hallmarks of the original. Also, this video is well lit. Why the fashion nowadays seems to be film the TARDIS interior as dark as possible I just dont know! Well done!

  • WOW well done :)

  • make another plz? :)

  • VERY nice.

  • @SaltyTestes Tennant's TARDIS was like that because it was rebuilding after getting blown up in the Time War(according to DR who Wiki) so that was why it was like that.

You'll note Matt Smiths Tardis looks nothing like that, and isn't constantly shooting sparks like Tennants.

  • @ZKoftherebellion I do not care for the current TARDIS console either. Bath tub knobs? Typewriter? Brake fluid? COME ON! I want something more high tech, but similar to the old series console room.

  • Comment removed

  • @SaltyTestes Oh come on, one look shows it's still high tech. It's just a different type of High tech then the generic White-washed everything=high tech that was popular in the original series. The only thing that lost the high-tech part was the fact that the time rotor is a glass ornament now, when Tennant's and McGann's Time Rotors looked just as purposeful as the old series did, but thats really the only negative thing.

  • Very nice design! But it didn't make the noise... you know the eeeerrhhh erh eeeerrhhh erh... It's a great noise, I love that noise! Ok, I'll stop quoting the Doctor now...

  • mint )

  • If I had to picture the "perfect" TARDIS console in my mind...this is what it would look like. Well done. If only the Smith version looked this good.

  • I love the design work you've done. The projected on control surfaces and read outs are a fantastic idea.

  • This is so good ! Nice job!

  • The control room looks similar to the one in the comics in the 1990's

  • Cool!

  • As the doctor would say... FANTASTIC!

  • Staggeringly nice. Probably the best TARDIS consle room I've ever seen. One day, I will build this set. Do you have blueprints?

  • @celestialtoystore It would be fairly simple to render top and side projections of each component as a reference, if you're serious about it!

  • @themindrobber Personally, I felt that I was looking at the default "desk-top" theme for control room of a Type 40 Time Capsule. Standard Timelord-OS: clean-sleek, ultra-tech style.

  • I think that the RTD tardis was dark, messy and ugly. I like the new Tardis interior but this one is brilliant and what it should be. It still should look futuristic not alien.

  • 10stars.

  • brilliant work!!!! could you please tell me what software you use?

  • I like the new show a lot, but I feel that the TARDIS is not quite the TARDIS, because it abandoned this design, which I really really love. I hope it comes back one day.

  • that was brilliant.

  • i agree with the doors in this. i hate the fact that the doors can be opened and amy can float in space and breathe. the whole concept of the tardis interior is that the inside is a separate dimension and it has two sets of doors. the external police doors, the internal tardis doors and the space in between. i can't remember which doctor but one said that you crossed dimensions when entering the tardis

  • halfway inbetween sylveter mccoys and paul mcganns

  • are you doing anymore tardis intertior design cause I like to see my own interior with eighth doctors console

  • this is how the tardis should look now!

  • Best. Tardis. Ever.

  • This would have been the ultimate design for the Tardis in the 1990's if Doctor Who hadint been axed in 1989 .

    It would have been a nice version of the Tardis between 1989 and 1996 , but no , Micheal flipping Grade cancelled the Program . . . . BASTARD !!!! . . . .

Doesint matter now thou , the Series is on today , and that Git cant do anything about it as he doesint work for the BBC today as far as i know . . . . THANK RASSILON FOR THAT ! .

  • cor can't wait

  • very clever, especially the way you have the console with the traditional lay out in a touch screen format. Beautifully put together video. Definitely a high point.

  • Nothing short of brilliant. I wouldn't change one element of your design. So creative and well-done! I love the feel to it, the spaciousness and the silvery luminosity.

  • almost perfect. Hope you sent your design off to the BBC before they designed their's.

  • Brilliant work!

I like how the design cues from earlier BBC variations are used. To an extent it seems more like a 1990 console than a 2010 one - in part because of how you've evolved the Five Doctors model, and because the walls are very reminiscent of both Mike Tucker's unused design and Lee Sullivan's comic work.

But touchscreen seems so retro, in some ways. Back in 1989, Star Trek: TNG had control surfaces like that. Sure, we have the iPhone, but in design terms it's not so new.

  • gorgeous

  • Amazing, gret effort.

  • awesome :)

  • Usual standard, which is light years ahead of the rest!

  • amazing stuff, possible re-revamp for the new series??

  • I prefer your interior to the organic look of the new series!

  • Excellent as always, I hope Steve Moffatt takes it into consideration. Very spacious.

  • Any Timelord would be proud to have a console/control room like this. Absolutely superb.

  • If only there was a rating higher than five stars!

  • Staggeringly beautiful!...

  • Where do I start? Truly beautiful work. When the wall opened up I was most surprised. I only wish I could see more. Now I need to learn 3d Animation to try and make a TARDIS of my own.

  • I am just a might jealous as I am actual in the process of updating my own tardis inspired craft.

  • That is absolutely brilliant!

Love the slide up wall, and that you've got both sets of doors!!

  • Very good indeed!! Ive been looking at this on your website and wondering if you would ever do this into a video.

If Doctor Who stuck around for the 90's, i bet this is what we would have in the late 90's. The sliding doors were a wee treat.

  • wow..jjust wow.

  • Nice, A very sleek interior. Nice touchscreen console.

  • Very nice - harks back to the classic series TARDIS but updates it as well. I think the actual new set retains the 2005-2009 bronze look but goes back to the old large roundels ... it'll be interesting to see :D

  • 5 Stars - great job!! Looking forward to seeing more.

  • wow

  • wow that is really inventive great work and ideas

  • beautiful! how i wish this was this was the real tardis interior! great work

  • amazing, really nice idea, I love the design of the walls, takes the original design but makes it that bit more modern

  • Fantastic ! . Should the Series Five Console Room design look rubbish [ thou we've yet to find out ] , this Design would be perfect , very Classic thou so maybe it wouldint be used , but a design for the New Series could be based on this .

  • Superb

  • wow! that would be great on T.V!

  • Fantastic - my own version of the console room is similar with inverse sloping walls, traditional (ish) console, though on a platform, & a holo viewscreen which can be multiplied if necessary!

Oh and yes, exterior AND interior doors!

    Good work!

  • Amazing work.

Props wise; Mona Lisa, Matrix Files that Dratho liked to carry around, the Doctor's gun thing from Invasion of the Dinosaurs, the Seventh Doctor's question mark umbrella and hat/coat wrack from numerous stores.

  • That is totally awesome. So talented!

  • Very Nice! I especially like the workshop alcove. Just one question; where is the exterior viewscreen? We've got to know what's outside or when something is going to crash into the TARDIS or as a means of visually communicating, right?

  • That was pretty cool! A lot of thought went into it's design. Well done.

  • Very impressive indeed.

  • amazing! well done mate!
