iTunes 7.0 deletes my files

I got a new computer so i was gonna download all my music and right when i plug in my ipod it started restoring before i could sync it. fucking apple...

This happened to me yesterday and I am positive that itunes was the culprit as I have limited software installed, multiple antivirus programs, firewalls, and no hardware issues. I have absolutely no method of recovering my purchased music.

The most irritating part is when iTunes constantly installing Bonjour and putting the mdnsresponder.exe in autostart. Also the program lays the qttask.exe, iTuneshelper.exe and AppleMobileDevice.exe (I DON'T EVEN HAVE A FREAKING IPHONE OR WHATSOEVER) and iPodservice.exe in autostart. Every time you install a new version it keeps installing things in services.msc and laying things in Autostart. That's bullshit.

u probably just moved them from the origanal folder thats what happend to me thats why i know consolidate my libirary to the itunes folder and automatically copys the song s into the folder there for i wont get that error agian

iTunes will ask you if you want to send all of your deleted files to the Recycle Bin....DONT DO IT. The catch is that the Recycle Bin caps out at 3% of your Hard Drive space...so if you are deleting/removing 18 gigs of songs from your Itunes only so much will move to Recycler...the rest is history. I tried Restoration.exe with minimal success

Hey Mighty...

I had the same problem with iTunes. I've switched player for the time being. I imported all my music back in, and all of the missing tracks were there again.

It turns out the iTunes is inexplicably moving the files to another location.

Assuming you keep your music in the My Music folder you should find your files in "My Documents\My Music\Unknown Artist" - That's where mine were...
