Wenn du nur ein bisschen Ahnung hättest, dann wüsstest du, dass Ubuntu eine Linuxdistribution ist und daher funktioniert das nicht mit deinem Windows XP....und selbst wenn, wenn du so fragst, dann könntest du es mit Sicherheit nicht einrichten.

This is a linux desktop called Ubuntu. This video demonstrates 3d effects on offer from Compiz Fusion, a hybrid of two projects for linux; Compiz and Beryl. Compiz Fusion is just a cool way of looking at your desktop.

how hard is it for a person to install compiz fusion? how long did it take you? I wish it would have a button so you can just download it but instead you have to put computer codes:(( i wish they could make it easy for non computer experts like me:(

It is standard on Ubuntu 7.10. If you want do make it real easy, Dell now sells computers with Ubuntu 7.10 in some countries. check dell . com/ubuntu.

It's very simple.

Just go to System > Preferences > Appearance.

A box pops up, Click the Tab Entitled "Visual Effects"

From there, just click Either Extra or Custom Effects, and customize which ones you want by clicking customize.

It is that easy. No terminal Commands, no codes to remeber, just a few clicks =D

actually if you want the very latest and greatest you do need the terminal. otherwise just use one of the .deb packages. the stuff that comes with the default install is kinda lame imho. but i havent tried it that much, just grabbed the latest from git and compiled it myself :)

You do have to make sure your 3D card drivers are installed properly first though. My nVidia card was installed, but the non-free drivers were not enabled by default.

Well, it works fine and stable on my PC AMD 1800+, Nvidia Card Geforce FX5500, with Compiz Fusion and also on my notebook HP NX6325, ATI Xpress1100, but no Compiz Fusion.

hmmmm, the depends theoretically anything you install with WINE should be perfectly safe, but with WINE its all a gamble it USUALLY works but there is some chance it wont, and if anything if u have a spare windows XP CD laying around you can use VMware to run windows AND ubuntu and the same time
