I have two mcdonalds Neuralyzers from back in the day when MIB 1 was released i always wanted to convert with with an old camera flash but never got round to sorting it out...MR beat me to it, it seems! haha! :)
Good intentions for a thorough review. Unfortunately your camera can't macro focus so the image goes from slightly to very blurry. Your FPS wasn't fast enough to reliably capture the strobe--we only saw it once and never with the neuralyzer facing us. It would have been interesting to see the battery installation. Next time you should script what you were going to say, to minimize the long pauses and "uh" "um" etc. Otherwise, congrats at getting this for $150!
Sorry, I didn't see you bought it for $600, not the original MSRP. Amazing how MR prices have skyrocketed after market. Unfortunately, they now recognize it and their new MSRP for props are rather high.
1: The camera I used was an iSight. So it's not really high quality picture and I know it. At the time of this review I didn't have that much in the range of Camera money.
2: In regards to my speech patterns I'm going to CSB at the moment so that's something I've worked on.
I'm no professional, never claimed to be. But your critique is noted and appreciated.
i own neuralyzer 121/1000 and when i received it, it didnt want to turn off when i closed it. it would stay on whether it was opened or closed in the down position. i have owned this neuralyzer for years now but never took much action as to fixing it. i am the second owner but was the first to open it up so me not buying it directly from MR voided the warranty. I dont know if there is anyway i could fix this. if you have an answer to my problem please let me know.
I own 313/1000 and have the same problem. I also bought mine from Ebay so voided the warranty. The problem lies with the little button that triggers the sound effects (not the one you push to eject the top, but the button that physically triggers the sound when the top comes up ).
yea, i noticed that. it must be misaligned or something because the button isnt being pushed in correctly. when ever i push it in by hand while its opened, it turns off until i take my finger off of it. who knows, all handmade things have flaws.
did anyone else notice and get very angry that the effects used in the neuralyzer are from MIB 1. While I do love the first model neauralyzer, when i recieved that shiny MIB 2 and didnt hear the MIB 2 sound effects, my heart skipped about a year's worth of life.
I payed over $600 for it on ebay. The only reason I was willing to pay so much was that I had 800 is loose money and spending it wasn't that big of a deal to me.
I would like to note that it does flash when it goes off, but the Xeneon Strobe seems a little too much for the camera to handle, so to see the flash in action, see the Neuralyzer Master Replicas (short ver.)
Wait...I don't remember clicking on this video! LOL!
