  • Diesel, eh? Might want to check your sources...GM doesn't have any Diesel engines in current cars in the US. Cruze Eco is gasoline...it's not even Atkins cycle. It's the car the new Civic isn't.

  • @ledbetterbrothers dude its a 1700lb car with a 60 hp engine and would disappear if I get hit by a dear lol yea way to go on the 50 mpg though

  • 1.4 ecotech turbocharger with over 100 L/ 100 km.

  • Bummer...my TDI got 49MPG on the last roadtrip. Kinda late to the game GM...

  • @FordGuy100 thats a diesel engine lol theyre supposed to get better mpg....

  • The turbocharger comes from Romania. But it works like a charm. Drop the old american habit of laughing about small engines, try it and we'll talk later. Anyway america can't afford much longer the oil bill beacuse the price of oil didn't stop rising

  • My ss gets 25 city 29 highway haha I still like the cruze and agree its a good not great but good start....die hard gm fan

  • I have a Cruze Eco...it has been averaging around 40 MPG with everyday driving. On a recent trip to Florida, it got right at 42 for a 1600 mile trip that had a mix of highway and city driving. As for power, it's got enough to get around, and more than enough if you downshift and get into the turbo. I've had it for 2 months and so far I can recommend it. Only gripe I have is that the A/C struggled with the Florida heat...but that is to be expected. Don't be hating until you try one out.

  • I dont know why people keep comparing this car to the old junk from the 80's that got 40-50 mpg. Compare the interior, the ride quality, the dependability, the looks. Don't forget that those old gas sippers were death traps that didn't even have air bags or antilock brakes. Get real people. It isn't as easy to make a safe modern car get the mpg of a 25 year old tin can that had 60-80hp. Go buy a motorcycle, at least you'll feel cool when you get squished on the pavement.

  • Excelent engine, and I love the Cruze's interior quality, style, ect. Plus 42 mpg in the eco!!

  • Ii am a GM tech, NONE of the cruze ive seen in the shop come close to 40 MPG yet...sorry. Thats what most of the customers complain about, aside from the fact it has problems with noise in the front end, and even though it has a turbo, its WAY underpowered.

  • @acueyes

its a fucking economy car....its not supposed to have gobs of power!

140 hp is plenty. Specially out of 1364cc's & since when does any car get the gas milage that EPA claims on the window sticker....ive never seen it happen.

  • @alphacapo easy guy, im with you!

  • @acueyes I have a cruze lt2 and that crap gets like 24 mpg on mixed driving in nyc

    not a good city car

  • Any idea what it will run in city driving?

  • Its funny that GM is advertising 40 mpg like its some sort of miracle breakthrough, but my 93 civic HB is rated at 44 city and 50 highway. 40mpg is better then say 35, but I think GM could do better.

  • @gabbogabbo GM can do better and they did. My parents had an 87 Chevy Sprint with a 1.0 3 cylinder carburated engine that consistantly got over 50 mpg. My dad claims that the best it ever got was 60.

  • @ledbetterbrothers Thats true, if you consider a rebadged Suzuki a chevy. Dont get me wrong, 40 mpg is great, its just GM has a long way to go to match some of the imports in terms of fuel economy but this is a great start.
