As for the Damien vs. Derek comparison. Both are gr8 dancers, however, notice how uneven Derek's posture is when he tries execute certain moves, the lack of cordination when clicking or turning his arms backwards. Now notice Damiens clean control (Arms Control). It's simply on point, and his posture is absolutely perfect when going into and coming out of various floor movements.

I'll say again, Damien has precision, elegance, style and most of all, grace. These are elements that's fundamental to any art form. Others try but they lack these basic qualities. Damien's performance is w/o effort. The mark of a True Legend! Know it. Honestly, I am quite ashamed of what the kids are doing today, it has the potential to rival nothing, it's simply is not art anymoe.

Damien's athletic ability is quite impressive however I wouldn't called his style as elegance and graceful. Maybe dynamic and energetic should be correct description for his style. Don,t get me wrong he is good, but Derek Mugler is in different class than Damien. In my opinion Derek Mugler is the only one who could come close to compete with Jose xtravaganza when they were at their prime.

You must not know your ballroom history. Old Way refers to the vogue style from 70's-80's. New Way which has elements of contortion (clicking) is -mid-late 80's early 90's.
