Hey, would you consider making your config file 'open source'? I am v impressed! I only got my cisco yesterday but I want to config it in the next few weeks. Ideally I would like a system like yours! What SIP provider do you use, or how does your server connect to the PSTN?
Thanks a lot for this nice video, but one question please, when I upload the SIP firmware into the phone, do I have to do that every time the Phone boots, or only one time, and done???
I see, but if this is the case, how the Phone is going to load the firmware from, I mean if the TFTP server is down, how the firmware is going to be loaded to the phone.???
A bin is static until the fw pointer file (OS79XX I believe) is modified. I just add a line to my dnsmasq dhcp boot options pointing to a permanent tftp box with the server config. How often are you rebooting your phone for this to be an issue? If often consider setting up a permanent tftp host.
I have the same phone, except it still has the factory firmware Application Load ID P0S3-08-7-00 Boot Load ID PC030301 DSP Load ID 4.0(2.0)[A0]. Where can I find SIP firmware for this phone?

How did you make this Firmware?
marshalauth 2 years ago
I didn't make this firmware - I simply set the config option to load an XML URI for the services menu. Google "Asteristickies".

Every time my 7940 boots it looks for the firmware, if it doesn't find it it defaults to the old one.

So, the TFTP server containing the Firmware folder should be up and running all the time.????

No, unless if a change is made to the config.
