I have been looking forward to the release of the 2012 Boss 302 Mustang for a while, and now that it's finally here, I'd really be interested in purchasing it... BUT NOT FOR ONE DIME OVER MSRP!
Why must dealerships take advantage of the low production numbers of these cars and fleece their customers? After an online inquiry, my local Ford dealer notified me that they are asking $10,000 over MSRP for the new Boss 302 Mustang, and that amount is non-negotiable. I told them to KISS MY ASS!
video, this is going to be the best and most powerful mustang yet. been reading some more info over on a site I found which is dedicated to strictly this new mustang, its also got a good discussion board/forum the link to the site is: 2012boss.com thought id share that with you all. bring the convo there, much easier to talk on a forum then on here.
Muscular mustangs had a good article about the Boss 2012 302. Google "news0390_2012_mustang_boss_302_engine.php" to read it.
For those who are lazy, I'll paraphrase. In addition to the new intake manifold, they targeted a higher redline than the GT 7000RPM redline - more in the 7500 range. With the new intake manifold and higher redline they also did a factory CNC P&P, claimed to use different heads, upgraded sinter-forged rods, upgraded mains, sodium-filled exhaust valves for heat dissipation.
@co4502 Same long block engine, but different intake manifold (i.e. doesn't have the "picture frame" airbox). The Boss 302 manifold I think flows better on the high-end and keeps a bit more torque. Due to this, they probably put a different tune on the Boss 302s to take advantage of it - hence the 430-440HP range opposed to 412.
LOL how he passes the civic like it was standing still.
But the subaru puts up a good fight, looked like it was going to overtake the Boss, but couldn't quite catch it.

I think $30000 for 430 hp would be to good to be true but I really hope Ford builds this car!
