No, Straight DC. There are four cabs and each one can be dialled in to any one of the nine sections of track. Two of the cabs are fixed points and the other two are on hand -held controllers with leads. DCC was considered but was ruled out partly on the grounds of cost and partly due to the conflict between DCC and automatic track cleaners (of which there are four - one per controller)
I have some surface mounted point(switch) motors. The BN boxcar was cut open to help hide the motors by being a ground mounted boxcar/storage shed. There were to be a few others but that is as far as I went with it at that stage. Was considering a road overpass with wide concrete base legs to hide the motors after that
@keytonsgangsta Thanks. Shame the model is only a month or so away from being broken up due to a house move. The BCR rdcs are made by Life Like and have individual numbers. One of them I picked up at an NMRA meeting and the other was bought on Ebay in Canada and brought to the UK by a very long and tortuous route. There is a CP Rail rdc on the line as well
Wow I would never know this is just 12x12 I love the main terminal area with the station and engine house.....this is as nice as any layout I have seen in magazines.
Do you use dcc ????
