  • Holy shit the guy in this video has the same computer as me.

  • Da fuck is a HARD-RESET? lol

  • I Dont Get It.

  • why won't a hard reset get rid of justin bieber?

  • your hair.......

  • Dang, Sega employees are fat and ugly, cept that asain chick, but some one nailed that down already... litterally..... Maybe they should Hard Reset their lives.... BTW dying your hair and doing your nails does NOT repeat NOT have a slimming effect. They are called a treadmill and running soes... get you some....

  • @bobfrapples21 Maybe you should do a Hard Reset on your personality. And there was only one obviously over-weight person in that video anyways.

  • This is the video they show to people in the IT field.

  • Fail to make a new meme :<(

  • @QuestForRoblox It's not a new meme. They accidentally send the default "Hard Reset" email to someone asking about their stance on SOPA.

  • @QuestForRoblox Fail to be informed about things.... Maybe you should try to perform a hard reset.

  • SEGA's employees are almost as nerdy and physically repulsive as their fans!!

  • When I look at Sega America, it's nothing like I knew Sega from the nineties. I wonder how the Japanese branch would react.... Concerning the hard reset response, as well as the SOPA act.

  • what the hell is that sonic progressive commercial about?

  • my name is julian

  • But...I love Nickelback :'c

  • @huskiesghost Have you tride performing a hard reset?

  • I WANT THAT DREAMCAST HOODIE NOWWWWWW!!!!!

    Please?

  • So Sega, what is your actual stand concerning the SOPA-topic?

Or do you think you can just keep answering this case off with this video?

  • @TheDjoetma I don't think they really give a damn.

  • @KrazyKazooie Let's be realistic. The whole industry is represented by ESA. The only reason that the likes of Nintendo and others got themselves off that list, is because of pr-reasons. They are still a united front, represented by ESA. There is no reason that Sega isn't with their colleagues/competitors on this. I think that's the reason why they don't actually respond.

  • This should be an meme. I'm going to start saying this.

  • SEGA no liek Nickleback??? :c

  • @powerpunch180 I don't think anyone likes that shitty band.

  • lol

I thought this video would be about the game "Hard Reset".

  • 0:33 -O.o... Innuendo Much?

  • Sega you are douches

  • 0:52 pregant + "hard reset" = abortion

  • No no no, have you tried logarithms?

  • This video sucks. Even after hard resetting the shit out of it.

  • The Nickelback joke was awesome

  • Not only does Sega not actually read emails, but they do, in fact, support SOPA.

Jim Sterling, AKA The Jimquisition, made a video comparing Duke Nukem to Sonic. I tried to watch it, and it was taken down, BY Sega, because it had Sonic gameplay in it.

This was complete Fair-Use, used for commentary and criticism. So Sega filed a false DMCA to take it down.

This is exact why don't want SOPA to ever happen. Because stupid cunts like Sega don't understand "fair-use", or that false DMCAs are illegal.

  • @SeanTheOriginal

NOPE, FAIR USE DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY

So, where did you get your law degree from? North Korea Polytechnic? Figures.

    --Victor Golf Charles

PS: None of you has any explanation as to how I am helping SOPA win. Adjust your meds.

  • @SeanTheOriginal Lololololol, no. If the video was on YT, it was probably taken down by someone who was angry at the video. There are TONS of videos out there that seemingly get taken down by companies, and nearly every time it's some troll using the companies name to file a false DMCA.

  • Has this really got this many views? Maybe SEGA should finally reply to my fucking question.

  • Haha this video is awesome.

  • Can some one tell me what the joke hard reset is from?

  • @MrClutch5150 Someone sent SEGA an email with their concerns about SOPA and got a automated response saying "Generally these issues are caused by bad installs or junk data that's stuck in the system's memory. The first suggestion would be to perform a hard reset on the device..."

  • @MrClutch5150 Yeah, someone from Hot Blooded Gaming sent an email to Sega asking for their stance on SOPA and instead of them actually READING the email, they sent out the standard "Hard Reset" email. It was a huge blunder on Sega's part and maybe now they will learn to actually respond properly to people's questions.

  • The migraine part actually makes since, in a way. Performing a hard reset on your body could be considered a way of saying going to sleep, which could help get rid of her migraine.

  • Nice to see you have a good sense of humor about this.

  • Sega does what Nintendon't. They listen to the people.

  • Well, there you go, people, not even the hard reset will help nickleback.

  • I took an arrow to the knee. A hard reset fixed it.

    THANKS SEGAS

  • The last time someone tried performing a hard reset on congress, they ended up in Guantanamo with "Big Bob" for a cellmate...

  • Government, sucks ---> Hard reset?

  • It's nice to see people outside of Canada also hate Nickelback.

  • There are so many people on the internet whos lives could use a Hard Reset. Segas customer service is usually quite good. A simple mistaken reply is not the end of the world.

A joke and an apology is more than you'd get from most corporations out there believe me.

I suspect Sega as a group doesn't give a rats arse about SOPA and aren't for or against.

  • The life of sega need a hard reset

  • Yeah, very funny, but we're still waiting for the answer.

    What's Sega stance on SOPA?.

  • Interesting look into the sega offices.

  • sega hasn't released a new console yet? hard reset

  • This is cute and all, but it doesn't actually answer any questions, or in fact clear up any of the confusion. It just looks more and more like Sega is in favor of SOPA.

  • I used to feel like they were pandering to me, but then I tried a hard reset on my knee.

  • *looks at comments*

Jeebus, why so serious, Youtube? Ahh, y'know what would cheer you up? A hard reset.

  • @BIGBLUBLUR LMAO a bunch of elitists arguing over the interwebz... classic... a hard reset would do some good

  • It warms my heart to know that SEGA's tech support appreciates the movie Zoolander. Unless it's possible that woman truly enjoys orange mocha frappuccinos.

  • Sonic:Elise did you try a hard reset?

Elise:Good idea *blows out the flames*!

  • Friend: " I hate my life"

Me: "Have you tried a hard reset?"

  • The videos amusing and all but....The email this is in response to was about SOPA, which is a damn serious issue, you shouldn't take it lightly, and you shouldn't make jokes about it, This videos just sega brushing off the mishap and ignoring what started it.

  • @Number40851 And you are overreacting, at least they apologized

  • How you deal with bad PR, joke about it.

  • Can I please have the Dreamcast hoodie? :)

  • I subscribed because of this video.

  • Peter Sunde is committing a tort here by leaving up the post that "maybe I should be

  • @M4t3usPt

Again, not their job to tell us.

    --Victor Golf Charles

    PS: HOOAH!!!

  • A hard reset doesn't get rid of SOPA and PIPA. Sorry, guys... ^^;

  • The video itself is pretty funny, and at least SEGA caught their own mistake, but I feel it would be more appropriate to just say that they cannot publicly comment on the matter rather than attempting to ignore it.

  • Escapist also brought me here. Gotta admit this is funny. Glad to see that Sega's not afraid to at least engage with their customers in a non uptight, business-corporate way :-D As for the issue of SOPA, believe me, I CANNOT WAIT until January 18, 2012 when the website blackouts start and the whole world goes fucking apeshit and I can say to my non-nerdy friends, "See?! I told you so! I'm not crazy for no reason!" before going back to hide in my room alone hunched over a keyboard lol lulz

  • This answers nothing.

  • Trying to make a new meme is also not an appropriate apology. I suggest stating your stance on SOPA, and maybe a few classes on customer service.

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd

Again, not their job to tell us.

    --Victor Golf Charles

    PS: HOOAH!!!

  • @VikutaaChyaaruzu So it's not their job to answer a question on a companies stance, but it is their job to address an issue with customer service? That's funny, considering the question was sent to their customer service line. Making it their job to tell us. If they cannot then the simple answer is that the company has no comment at this time, but it will be announced shortly. Instead we get an answer that was insulting, and an apology of equal or lesser value.

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd

IDIOT ILLSPIRITS ARE UNABLE TO READ MY COMMENTS

You say it's their job to answer. What you really mean is that it's NOT their job to answer. Yet you still insist that they must answer.

But of course, what can we expect from crazed GAMERs like you?

    --Victor Golf Charles

  • @VikutaaChyaaruzu I'm not a crazed gamer, nor did I ever say anything was or was not their job. All of that was implied by you, and I simply asked you to clarify. I also didn't insist that these particular members of the Sega staff answer the question. Only that Sega inevitably does answer at some point. Oh, but hey what else can you expect from a failed example of an internet trol like yourself? It's alright buddy I'm sure someone will think you're cool some day!

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd

I'm not a troll. You are. How do I know that? Because I identify myself on the Internet with my real name, unlike the rest of you here. How terribly revealing.

    --Victor Golf Charles

  • @VikutaaChyaaruzu how the fuck do we know it's your real name?

  • @JeromeAux

Because it says so on the end of my comments. Just like this.

    --Victor Golf Charles

PS: Use obscene language on the Internet again, "JeromeAux" (nice fake name, by the way), and I'll do something about it. Obscene content is NOT protected by Amendment I.

  • @VikutaaChyaaruzu Revealing your real name has no effect on if you trol or not? Good to know...and here I thought most people didn't reveal it for security reasons! Silly me! As far as I knew an internet trol was a person who did things simply to get a rise out of people. Sort of like how you are only saying the things your saying to make me slip up and act out of character.

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd

Real men use their names, instead of hiding timidly behind a fake avatar.

    --Victor Golf Charles

  • @VikutaaChyaaruzu My image is a photo of myself....you must mean my screen name? I wasn't aware that I had to reveal my identity to every rude individual in order to be a man. Also, all language is protected by the first amendment...this is why the KKK is still able to hold meetings. It's a form of protest, which is one of the many important if not often misused items protected by the first. You have a flawed view of the world, and seem to think you know more than you actually do.

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd

READ THE BILL OF RIGHTS NEXT TIME, JUNIOR

It clearly states that obscene language is not protected by Amendment I. Welcome to the land of the increasingly unfree and the totally depraved. Hooah.

    --Victor Golf Charles

  • @VikutaaChyaaruzu 1. I'm probably older than you...I'm at least much more mature than you are, so you would do well to show more respect. 2. I have read The Bill of Rights, and while if obscene language was so horrible, then I'm quite sure 90% of the mainstream music, and several other forms of entertainment that otherwise would have been shut down but instead were protected by the courts under the first would no longer exist. and finally....if you dislike it here, you can leave.

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd

21 years old, junior. Beat that.

    --Victor Golf Charles

PS: I don't HAVE to show respect to you.

PPS: Obscene language IS criminal. (And immature, too. Which is why I block people who make obscene comments on my videos.)

FINAL THOUGHT: I will not leave this place, because YouTube cemented my status as the resident critic, commentator, and videographer who logs in every single day, rain or shine, holidays included. Hooah.

  • @VikutaaChyaaruzu 1. I am 23...I win again 2. Again it has been protected in courts when used as a form of protest, and/or art. While his was not it still proves my point....also to me when I see someone block some one or simply act as you do over a mere swear word, or "obscene use of the English Language", I can't help but laugh because it shows fear of the outspoken. Finally I was refering to America...since as you said it's apparently so depraved and unfree.

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd

Again, obscene speech is NOT protected by Amendment I and can NOT be used at any time. The Constitution does not care if it's in art or protest. It's still illegal, and that's final.

    --Victor Golf Charles

PS: Look at my Phone-In Debates pilot episode and you'll see why I have the upper hand on my channel.

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd

    "1. I am 23...I win again"

You're lying. I can tell because the hair on my buttcheeks is standing on end.

    --Victor Golf Charles

  • @VikutaaChyaaruzu Oh and a real man shows his upperclassmen respect <3

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd

Victor Golf Charles keeps racking up wins, and you Amendment I defenders just can't handle the truth. What is the truth, you may ask? The truth is this: Adults with common sense and decency and respect for law enforcement are actually running this country. Pottymouths are NOT, and never will. Look at me. I got my drunk next door neighbor arrested for yelling obscenities to my pomeranian. And I was awarded $100 by the police.

    --Victor Golf Charles

  • @VikutaaChyaaruzu Again, I already told you protected as ART or PROTEST. Now it seems to me he was drunk and disorderly, and while yes he was swearing it was probably more an arrest for the former over the latter. I'm not trying to defend anything...and you're not speaking truth, you're speaking in fragmented truth. Any way, I'm done with this, if I were to continue it would impede on my right to pursue happiness.

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd

Obscene language is still illegal and still not protected by Amendment I, and that's final. Put down the methamphetamines and actually READ the Bill of Rights.

    --Victor Golf Charles

  • @VikutaaChyaaruzu Did you know it's also illegal to have a horse on the second floor of your home in some states? I've also heard you can't go to Dunkin Donuts on Sundays in a couple others. The law isn't always proper, nor are the amendments. Which is why the COURTS PROTECTED certain instances of obscene language by the first...This is my argument, and NOT that it protects all use of obscene language. Of course you're too busy sending kids to jail for jaywalking to notice.

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd

Yeah, right. And Dennis McCauley is too busy freelancing a butt boil to report it.

    --Victor Golf Charles

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd

Obscene language is NOT "protected speech," and you're not a sentient being.

    --Victor Golf Charles

  • @VikutaaChyaaruzu "The Supreme Court has found that obscenity is an exception to the constitutional rights under the First Amendment, and is usually limited to content that directly refers to explicit sexual acts that are publicly accessible, though it has at times encompassed other subject matters, such as spoken and written language that can be publicly transmitted and received by the general public."

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd Nothing sexual implied about anything that has been said....also I am quite positive you have been attempting a trol sir.

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd

You're making that up. I can tell because the Amendment I that currently exists prohibits the use of obscene language in any environment, be it the real world, television, radio, print media, telephone, SMS text messaging, or even the Internet, among others. But you wouldn't know that, since all you read are cheat code books. Duh.

    --Victor Golf Charles

  • @VikutaaChyaaruzu Well, the reality is that if this was a real debate, my argument would remain as I have a valid source and your only retort is. "You made that up." Making your point invalid. If you don't understand I suggest taking a freshmen course in FLR. Also if that law mattered AT ALL, then the bible would be considered contraband. As it has multiple obscene words within its pages. I doubt that is what the forefathers had in mind, so you're distorting their intentions.

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd

ACTUALLY, HE IS COMING TO JUDGE AND TO DESTROY

    Learn your Bible, dweeb.

    --Victor Golf Charles

PS: Where did you get your law degree from? North Korea Polytechnic? Figures.

  • @VikutaaChyaaruzu The bible has the word "ass" in it, which you would consider obscene. Most media of today has at least one swear in it, or sexual content.

Never said I had a law degree, but I did manage to pass my Foundations of Logic and Reasoning class. It was at Bridgewater State University. Quite a good school. Which again, it would seem I've put you at a loss. This debate is closed. How did we get here from talking about Sega any way? Shouldn't we be fangasming over blue hedgehogs

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd

We don't have to talk about hedgehogs. It's irrelevant to the subject.

    --Victor Golf Charles

PS: It referred to a donkey. Stay off the dope.

  • @VikutaaChyaaruzu Thats the second time you've implied that I am on drugs, which I am not...you've also been kind enough to refer to me as good for nothing or an idiot. All of that is slander. I'm quite sure you understand that is something that is against the law. I'm asking you to stop now as I was trying to have an adult conversation with you. Also I am aware that the bible is referring to a donkey, but by your standards it is irrelevant.

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd As for my sonic reference, I was simply trying to break the tension and have a good time. Something you seem to know nothing about.

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd

    I don't take orders.

    --Victor Golf Charles

PS: Careful, HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd (nice fake name). My girlfriend might get jealous.

  • @VikutaaChyaaruzu I rather thought that was a clever pun at the time. I find it quite funny that you're still stuck on me using a screen name over my real name over the internet. It isn't as if I am afraid to use my name. It's more a security measure.

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd

That is precisely why your liberal legs ought to be incarcerated.

    --Victor Golf Charles

  • @VikutaaChyaaruzu I'm sorry? Why should I be incarcerated exactly? For my views? Rather scary that someone so dead set on freedom and justice is so afraid of my opinions :P

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd

You obviously have tertiary syphilis -- resulting in dementia -- from your meanderings. How sad. How predictable.

    --Victor Golf Charles

  • @VikutaaChyaaruzu You've obviously never taken a class on debate. It's a subtle art form that many can learn, but few can master. ANNNNNNY WAY! I've got work early in the morning so I can contribute to this great nation we live in. See you around!

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd

I love the smell of burning Amendment I defenders in the morning.

    --Victor Golf Charles

  • @VikutaaChyaaruzu I love the smell of defeated self righteous socialists in the morning.

  • @HeWhoShallNotBeMEMEd

How original. Did it take you five seconds to make that response?

    --Victor Golf Charles

  • This would be a funny video, if the future of the internet wasn't at stake, quit avoiding the issue and have the balls to make an official anouncement on your stance on SOPA

  • @neveSykcuL

Again, not their job to tell us.

    --Victor Golf Charles

    PS: HOOAH!!!

  • Sega don't need to apologise for anything. They made the Master System.

  • @cosmosboy3000

and its predecessors, the SC-3000 and SG-1000.

  • Escapist brought me here :D

  • lol this reminds me so much of IT crowd

  • Sega - "We can talk about politics and religion in our videos and we can promote certain political and religious agendas in our games every single year, but can people talk about these things on message boards? NO! That wouldn't be right! We have a FAMILY-FRIENDLY image to protect! Derp!"

    Sega = Hypocrites

  • It bothers me that nothing is in that cup at :44.

  • funny, though, terrible acting. stick to your dayjobs.

  • Well. I guess the one good thing about SOPA getting passed is that Sega would put a crack down on Sonic fanfics.

  • @IFM2002

Unless, of course, they were submitted through and approved by Archie Comics...

  • @yaosio I'm working on it...

  • "Hey dude, my SNES isn't working"

"Have you tried performing a hard re-"

    *silence*

    *SNES is smashed to pieces*

"That's a hard reset all right"

  • You know what the word for hard reset is in Politics? Revolution.

  • Hard reset, the new answer to life, the universe and everything.

  • This is seriously something I could see LRR doing.

  • They go to all this effort to joke about and apologise for not answering a simple question. What they haven't bothered to do is answer it.

  • @Zoomy

They don't have to answer it. Want them to answer it? Go to a psych ward.

  • @Zoomy

Again, not their job to tell us.

    --Victor Golf Charles

    PS: HOOAH!!!

  • AGAIN, IT'S NOT THEIR JOB TO TELL WHETHER THEY SUPPORT SOPA OR NOT.

Thumbs up if you agree with me.

  • To those of you who are saying that Sega NEEDS to tell us their position on SOPA, I say that if they want to tell us their position on SOPA, they'll do so. If they don't, they don't. The company doesn't have to give its stance on anything if it doesn't want to.

  • SOPA is not a joke, assholes.

  • Got a problem with Sonic character saturation and confusing canon?

    Hard Reset.

  • This was not funny at all.

I did almost get a chuckle out of the Nickelback part though. That made me smile. But everything else... boring and not funny.

  • @DDustiNN Did you read about the customer service email that sparked this? Thats kind of where the humour comes from.

  • Is it sad that the funniest part of this video ended up being an abortion joke?

  • Wait... that was an abortion joke. Heh

  • Our government really needs a hard reset.

  • Funny.

    But srsly, stance on SOPA?

  • @ThunderCavalier

Again, not their job to tell us.

    --Victor Golf Charles

    PS: HOOAH!!!

  • I was about to voice an opinion about SOPA and then I took a... hard rest...

  • They make a joke video and ignore the question of "Do you support the end of the internet?"

    Scumbag ESA.

  • @firzen1231 that they think it needs a hard reset

  • I took an arrow in the knee, then I took a hard... yea it doesn't work.

  • SEGA, while we appeciate that you can take this with a pinch of salt, which is good. Tell us now, do you support SOPA? With Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony, Capcom, Konami, Apple, and pretty much every developer going supporting SOPA we currently all think you do. We hate them all... go on, give us one games company we can like and respect, speak out against SOPA.

  • @TornadoCreator Riot games is against sopa lol.

  • Class reaction to your automated message. This is nice and joke worthy. But what isn't joke worthy and more serious is your official stand on SOPA? Wouldn't it end game streaming such as the streaming SEGA did with DESTRUCTOID before games like Conduit 2 came out?

  • Sooo... Sega USA is run by 4 people ... this would explain things...

  • Can't make a good game to save your life? PERFORM A HARD RESET! Seriously Sega I can't believe your pro-SOPA. NOBODY WANTS to play your games, and we're sure as hell not pirating them. How do you even still exist by the way? There can't be THAT many furries.

  • @Jaistar2k22

Why so mad??? Did Sonic rape you as a kid?

  • @90tegra As a matter of fact they did it was called Sonic 2006. That game was way worse than being forcibly violated by a man in a hedgehog costume. I actually know rape victims and they would rather relive that experience a hundred times over than play sonic 2006.

  • @Jaistar2k22 Right, because a mediocre video game you can completely ignore is so much worse than a horrible, traumatizing experience that can scar people for most of their lives.

  • This was great, thank you SEGA of America for taking your mistake in stride!

  • @areyoukiddingme60 Why don't you try a warm glass of shut the hell up ಠ_ಠ

  • @areyoukiddingme60 Try a hard reset.

  • Damn, Sonic 06 isn't getting the good reviews like the older games!

    Hard reset?

    *Sonic Unleashed

  • To be this good takes AGES

  • @JagSpur

To be this good takes SEVEN PINTS.

  • this is some autistic shit

  • 0:55 - Sega I luff yew.

  • I think my heart just stopped.

  • SEGA needs to openly pick a side on the sopa and protect ip debate. they can't sit on the fence forever

  • "Hey, Congress is trying to pass bills to give corporations total control over the internet."

"Oh shit. Should we try a hard reset?"

Also consider leaving the ESA since I'm boycotting every company that is an ESA member that isn't a vocal SOPA/PIPA opposer right now.

  • Btw, Sonic the Hedgehog could use a hard reset, just saying

  • Fail, you can hear the creamer shaking

  • Hello, IT, Have you tried turning it off and on again?! You see that light at the side? Is it on? Are you aware on how to use a button?

  • "This is the worst congress we've had recently, perhaps even in our own history. Anything you can advise in this regard?"

"Sure, a hard reset and a reinstall."
