@AnnexGroup well, being as it says how to do it in the manual, myself and 4 other people i know (personally) who own these were able to figure out how to use 'fix' in minutes, i think you need to try a little harder....
also read 'kaossilation's comment below, he also explains it. it's not hard dude, just take a deep breathe, and think about it.
Record something. Keep Loop pressed, turn the wheel until you see "Fix". release the Loop. Now the beat is fixed. If you add layers now, you can erase them on the fly with loop+scale or return to the fixed loop with loop+wheelturn to "Can"
Good vid, I'm n00b to the kaossilator and got one for christmas. What's the cords at the top of you kaossilator hooked to, and how do you clear your entire beat insted of deleating one beat at a time?
ya know, the "fix" can handy, but it's a trade off. myself, i need the 16loop. i think you will find over time that the DLY mode is actually way better...you lose functions but are able to create more seamless playing. i find the 8loop to be very limiting...
yup, someone already wrote that, and for you maybe that is true, and it is easier.. but myself - i like fluid motion, and double clicking isn't fluid...it's sort of like using windows or a mac...you can click once to open anything on a mac or double-click in windows. a minor detail, but for me - a single click/drag feels much nicer and works better....i also think it is faster my way, as i have tried both ways. but to each there own!
"fix" is only in 8beat mode and to get into it, you must hold down the play/rec button and turn the dial to your right.... you could read the manual too, as it plainly states how to do this :)....
ya, well when it happens over and over again, and when you could have read 6 comments down and already seen that your comment was written. it gets a bit annoying....it's nice to get comments and ineract, but maybe write something that has to do with something less trivial. eh?
and i wasn't being aggresive. i think you took that the wrong way my friend. i was more proving a point...(everyone speaks differently)!
british columia, yup. i used my digital camera. allows me 6min of recording(long enough) and as long as i place it well, the sound is decent enough, i suppose ideally, and depending on the application i would use a good mic and sync the sound to video after...
LOL @ 0:28 "FUCK-tionality" hahahaha ahh just kidding man. i like your videos, they help, i just thought that was funny. :D i'm either asking for this or the mini-kp for christmas!
thanx man. keep in mind that the koassilator is a synth and sampler(looper) the mini kp is an FX unit. ppl ask me this all the time. just so you don't grab something you weren't really looking for..
oh i know! trust me bro, ever since i heard about them both, i've done so much research. i figured that out in the first day, but yeah i did wonder if they were at all different right when i heard about them. at first, i really wanted the mini-kp, but i think it might be better to start out with the kaossilator,
because it's more of an instrument--being that it's a synth--and then i can go back later on and ad the mini-kp for some FX after i master the kaossilator! thanks again bro! ---silenthillvictim
ya i know, but it is slower. i use one fluid motion, instead of pressing a button twice. the point is to save time, and do things quickly. i like it my way better(thanx).
I see that you've found the battery check feature. Actually, there's another undocumented test feature that can be triggered by holding down "Tap/BPM", "Scale", and "Gate Arp".
This feature tests the left channel, then the right channel, and then tests all the keys dials and touchpad. I don't profess to completely understand it, so can you please take a look at that for me? Thanks!
hey man, i checked that out. interesting stuff, it seems there are also sub commands to different menu's in the mode as well. i have found three or four. not sure what they do, except of course your own observations. curious...
im going to ponder it somemore and see if there is anything relevant to it. i also am pondering buying another so i can open this one up to see what's inside :)
We can't post links here, that's why I put in the "v=wAktp9pnTWk" at the end of my previous comment. It's the video ID where you can put in your address bar.
No it wasnt helpful.. I still dont get how you exaclty fix a beat.. Nobody ever explains this clearly.

Instead of pressing scale and then loop, just pressing scale twice works has the same effect. I find that easier :0

How do you erase just one part, and not the entire beat?
manueldros 3 years ago
you might learn to read manuals...
...only in 8beat mode, fixing a beat. now read! ;)

Anyone who's read the "manual" knows its cryptic suck factor. It's more of a pamphlet, actually... :)

it's nice to know what your battery level is at when you're oat and aboat.

but, to reply to myself with a question;
when i'm canceling a segment is it possible to keep the fixed layer playing, or will it always have to be stopped? (and played over)

What is fixing a beat?
benjive 3 years ago
when you change the loop length while it's looping and it starts to cut and stuff
psychofish25 3 years ago
where you save a loop that you like, in 8beat mode. then you can record over top of it with out destroying your original loop!
manual... :)

jalen2467 3 years ago
korg kaossilator : is a hand hend synh/drum looper.
you play it with your finger tips and it loops and records your actions. i hope that is a good enough explanation. :)
