  • Thanks for posting, brings back so much memories, The music is the best as it's got that old school feel, the other version sound too modern.

  • By comparing the Amiga version with this, one can get an appreciation for the true superiority of Amiga.

  • i like how the audience sound fades into random crackle

  • @JasonLee215 Wow I left that comment 3 years ago!

Yeah the people had 8-bit computers back then, and we'd all argue about who had the best 1 lol.

I was always right though ;-)

  • @JasonLee215 The Amiga was overall a better computer than the ST, it had a 4 channel stereo sound chip compared to the Atari's 3 channel mono, it had a better CPU and was better for colours and graphics.

  • Man, you're so bad at this!

  • The atari st is such a piece of junk, which wouldn't be so bad if the software publishers hadn't wrote to the lowest common denominator and ruined the games for the Amiga. Just look at the games that are Amiga exclusives.

  • no sounds effect crap

  • It really gripped my shit that they made the action window so small. I know the St isnt great at scrolling what with no blitter chip, but others have acheived it with decent programming.

  • Sounds more like a Sega Game Gear game to me!

  • Very ugly, where the Amiga and Archimedes versions are superb.

This version looks like the Amstrad CPC version.

  • @LairdOfForsyth Well, you must be blind : look at the playing area : it's full screen for the Amiga and the Archimedes, and it's not even 2/3 for the CPC AND the ST versions, which are very similar : both ugly and very disappointing for the ST, as it's supposed to be better than the CPC, no ?

  • @Archimedes75009 better the amstrad port to the c 64is better then atari is totally crap the atari ones

  • sounds like pac mans havin a heart attack, but stil nice tune

  • Someone somewhere must have remixed or re made this music. It's just too amasing it can't have just been buried and forgotten

  • The sound.... *VOMIT*

    The graphics... *URGH*

    Atari ST. 16 Bit "Power".

  • Yesssss..... Face the truth and vote me down. >:D >:D

    BLIP BLIP BLOOP BLOOP ...

Wow, and the actual game screen occupies HALF of the display!

    16 Bit Power!

  • The tune is great !

  • Bad Ass Music. Memories

  • The first time I played this was on Commodore 64

  • @CoolDudeClem Great version of the game too. One of the best for c64.

  • Nope, the Amiga version.

  • Thanks for posting this, I'd forgotten how awesome the music was! Really cool how things get subdued when you get the power-pill.

This was one of the first games I'd seen on an ST and really helped to convince me that 16-bit was where it was at.

  • Why do people always have to make comparisons. They were 2 different machines for fucks sake. To me this was quite a playable conversion despite the massive border. If you want the best version though I'd suggest getting MAME.

  • @adamwba1979 Or Namco Museum 50th Anniversary.

  • Amiga rocks!

  • well said, Amiga brethren

  • Souvenir , souvenir

  • Aw you didn't show the 3rd world level, I remember that was quite well designed. And you don't jumpt he ghosts, I remember that being a great trick to get yourself outta trouble. Nevrmind, seeing this till brought back the memories. Thank you!

  • Wow, thanks so much for this... It's the summer holidays in 1997 and I'm 8 years old again!

  • Wow! 97? I woulda been 20 and my Atari was already collecting several years of dust by then. Think I musta been playing this as early as 89 or 90? Does that sound right? Maybe even earlier!

  • Right, the Atari was around in the late 80s, early 90s. I was about 8 years old in '97... My second-hand atari was given to me by my uncle that year.

Carrier Command and Eliminator were great games, too :-)

  • Loved this game! The Amiga version was so NOT better than the ST version, just different. I preferred the ST version though, on a personal pref, I liked the sound better.

  • Yeah but I've always thought the ST version has the best music.

  • I had an atari st it really was an awful machine couldnt even handle scrolling without the screen been halved as in this video and the same soundchip as a specrtum 128/ amstrad cpc i never owned an amiga sadly

  • I was forever telling people back in the mid 80's that the Amiga was better than the Atari St

The c64 was better than the spectrum or amstrad cpc but no one would ever listen. Commodore made

    the best computers back then.

  • Pac-Land is better

has anyone got Atari ST Pac-Land ? (video)

  • I loved the music, what a great job they did!

  • very weak compared to amiga and megadrive conversions

  • Frankly, I thought the Genesis/MegaDrive version was a letdown compared to the NES. I'll admit all the variations for the different micros had their share of strengths and flaws.

  • Woah, that was a great game!

  • I still remember when I used to play this...
