Lesson one, anything can be used as a weapon, even a pair of scissors. Just stab the pair into the soft spot underneath the occipital bone on the back of the skull.

Lesson two, guns run out of ammo all the time, so dont rely on them all the time, of course a 9mm might just save your life in a tight spot, if used sparingly.

pros - lightish, VERY strong, VERY sharp, suts through necks like butter

cons - if you dont know how to properly use this majestic martial arts weapon, you'll be lucky to cut down 25 - 35 zombies

gun, ak47, colt1911, etc.

pros - great long distance weapon, kills zombies like a charm

cons - possibility of jamming (your screwed), frequently needs recharge of ammo, u run out (your screwed), if you do not shoot in the forehead, your screwed... katana overall winner

@TheFrigginAwesome the problem with the katana is that if you get one that designed for show then the blade could fall out, and it can get stuck inside of the skull (which could get you killed by another zombie that was behind you)

and the AK hardly ever jams (I've never heard of it jamming) but yes ammo is still a problem.

now i think people overlook blunt weapons all you need to do is give the zombie's head a good smash or two and its done and over with. But you would need to make sure you have protection from the blood splatter. a simple paintball mask would suffice, and then just wear long pants, long sleeve shirt, and gloves.

One thing I must point out that kind of annoys me, every body thinks that the katana is the Ideal close quarters zombie killing weapon. But not everybody knows how to use it and it takes a long time to train to know how to use one effectively. Your average Joe would most likely NOT be able to decapitate a zombie with a katana. and if you do manage to remove the head then it'll just roll around on the floor.
