An AK-74U can exist, however it was never an official model, the S in AKS-74u means it has a folding stock, the U means shortened therefore an AK-74U would just be a shortened AK-74 with fixed stock however the stock in the video was never folded so it is possible it's just an AKS-74U style with a fixed stock.

The russians saw the benefit of the intermediate round like the 55.6 NATO. So they came out wit this AK74 5.45. Light recoil and soldiers can bring more ammos in the field.

For AR fans like myself you can enjoy this caliber by just buying a 5.45 complete upper and mags. Its matter of just releasing the takedown pins and slaping on the upper and mag and youre ready to go. The benefits; cheap ammos(twist cheaper than 55.6 n 223)

He's wrong. The difference between assault rifles and SMGs is the cartridge. SMGs fire a pistol cartridge, assault rifles an intermediate cartridge, battle rifles a rifle cartridge.

SMGs can and do have stocks; wire folding stocks are common due to the SMG's use as a close-quarters weapon and backup for vehicle crews.

The AKS-74u there is not, in fact, an SMG - it fires the same cartridge as the AK-74. Technically, this makes it a carbine.

SMGs fire PISTOL cartridges but the reason they are SMGs instead of pistols is because they have select fire. Which means they can switch between full auto or semi auto. Assault rifles fire an intermediate cartridge and have select fire. Now you may be asking "How do you classify these different cartridges?"
