  • skiiiiiins

  • a true timeless classic this one is .... what a cool voice too....

  • NICE TUNE!!!!

  • If ever a woman stood up stall....ricing from the ashes as " Phoenix " she..Marianne Faithfull..she is the one ..above all.

If you do not know " Her Story " from way back in the days ..then go and find out..and LEARN...learn ..and then..learn even more <3

    and why do I think so, how come I know..? I am 63 Y O..and I´ve been " There "

  • wild horses couldn't drag me away...

  • cool motherfucker.

  • GOT JEALOUS OF MY HUBBY WHEN HE WAS OBSESSED WITH THIS ALBUM! then i realized why i married him!...... Coz he had such good taste! stezyrezy

  • @stezyrezy Tell us more because w're all Marianne's lovers. Forgive us.

  • Keep it up sweat heart,,, ;-<) miss ya !

  • Didn't grow up in the era of Marianne Faithfull, but I know her story. She is one of the true survivors in the industry and I am glad that God blessed her with a second chance. Keep doing your thing ma'am.

  • i just love this woman this 1979 album she did is a masterpiece read her biography i learned a lot while reading it.

  • brilliant, recentl;y transferred my vinyl to CD, wonderful album

heard a few tracks on the radio of her recent gig in Geneva... just magical, really something very special.

  • because shows how far we have not come

  • I fancy a Mars bar!

  • reminds me a lot of Jennifer Warnes singing that song written by Leonard Cohen...even some of the tempo and notes....way too good to listen to sitting at a computer monitor thats for sure

  • You would have to have grown up during the time of Marianne Faithful and others to really appreciate her. What great days and times those were.

  • @NRock2404 Hahahaha.. that analogy made me laugh. She has a sound that people either love or hate. I personally love her but each to their own.

  • One of the most beautiful Singers,God had created*When i first heard her recording,i said to myself,"This is the ultimate sound i had been waiting to hear".

"Original Sounds Coming From Her Heart within".. Al Sayee

  • Well she was a Shakespearean Actress before she got involved with drugs and Mick Jagger! I thing those two things ruined a brilliant career. The lady could act!

  • brilliant song i just dont like the parts when the 80s electro sound sounds like farting... ruins the whole song...........

  • Great Song... love, peace and...

  • She sounds like a bar fly. No thanks. LOL...

  • i like peanuts

  • This is a great song.very well done, and still as topical now as it was then.

  • I just love her voice - deep, sexy and a sound like old metal

  • I've seen her live in the late 80s... Very powerful and very sad at the same time... She was chain smoking and coughing and lighting another cigarette from the butt and smoking and coughing non stop... I taught she was gonna die on stage... I love her.

  • @trancis36 hahahah!!!!

  • she had a harrowing past so i think her songs are very meaningful, i'd say she was very selective about her choices. first heard her when i was about 14. love her ever since!

  • Thanks for this!

  • What a voice

  • @MsAnnaliebt Yes, what a voice. But if you've heard her in the 60's - so girly and posh! - this album in '78 was quiet a shock

  • certainlyt he best of marianne she was an Angel in as tears go by and come back as a fighter,, after her big down she comes back stronger than ever,, she is and will stay a woderful women I like her new voice pur rock and roll

  • <3

  • I liked her voice in the 60's more.

  • @squidster29yay

So did I ! She sounded (and looked) so incredibly lovely when she sang 'As Tears Go By' in 1965. Then again, most of us looked better 15 years ago.

This is a great song, though...

  • @Homoholic I know what you mean. It's sad that a few years of drug abuse, cigarettes, and alcohol can change such a beautiful voice so drastically. It's almost as if she lost the immaculate vocal control she had back in the day.

  • I loved the video

    It is very good

    Thank you for sending me

    kisses

  • Buen mensaje y buena musica

  • no war ,johanna

  • fuck off she's too good

  • Ariel Pink's been listening....

  • I am covering this song.

  • A brilliant anti-war song, that's what this is.

  • Great song. Not hear it in years.

  • She is amazing :)

  • its quite gorgyo moroder-like-for that reason-her best/2 me

  • Very sad what she had to go through but as most say & agree to...a TRUE SURVIVOR

I cannot recall how many times I would listen to this song back in the early 80's

  • does anybody remember,,,,,, why did you do what you did,,,, i cant find it anywhere?

  • Απίστευτη Faithfull. Εκπληκτική και στη Θεσσαλονίκη που την είδα. Κάτι εξέπεμπε που ήταν αδιευκρίνιστα γοητευτικό.

  • @lafounte i agree

  • @mercuryzeke Την ερωτεύτηκα τώρα στα μεγάλα της, άσε τι απίστευτη κούκλα ήταν στα 18 της.

  • @lafounte please , say it in broken english ...

  • What a great song!Brings back some memories!

  • stratosphäre in den späten 70 und frühen 80 in oberhausen....was für ein laden und dann diese musik.nichts ist für immer und was dir bleibt ist die erinnerung.

  • Thanx Bansheeeeeeee! Love, love, LOVE this Lady! Grrrrr8 Track!

  • it´s cool....

  • brilliant miss faithful

  • there is never going to be another artist like marianne faithfull. i just saw her at ucla and she was AMAZING! i too was a terrible heroin addict and i read her autobio and decided too to seek help. her voice is like she said every whiskey she has drunk, drug she has taken and we all know miss faithfull with her trade mark cigarette. thanks for posting this. i wanna she her snl performance. hughug,e.

  • @rimbaudboy31 ,,, ya she reminds me of better days ,,when things were new and axciting,,

  • have you tried Schaft's version? :)

  • buena

  • great song, thanks for post. It's "Faithfull" with two "L's" maybe you can correct that. Thanks

  • i love this

  • Having seen and heard her sing `As Tears Go By' in an ingenuous voice in 1964, it was a shock to hear this 15 years later. With Blondie's `Heart of Glass' it made New Wave' acceptabe in a then Disco-dominated market.

This version differs from the 12" single but just as good.

  • What a sexy, beautiful singing voice...!

  • so true....even I'm woman...

  • @tonkehar

    she is forever-

  • my dad played thoose songs for me when i was a child.. still love this songs to death

  • awesome read her biography Faithful xx

  • I remember when I first discovered her..I thought wow! What passion...I love her. And then I learned what she had gone through. What a great survivor!

  • ...and Her voice, the change, holds it all. But who will take Her dreams away? (watch?v=_p6JgqfmYu4&fmt=18)

  • Where was she playing when you discovered her,and did you become her agent?

  • I meant when I heard about her and started listening to her music..but I didn't discover her..bad choice of words on my part?

  • @strawberryblonde12 one of my favorite women ever!! woweee....harcore survivor if there ever was a one.
