I used to have coco fiber (eco earth) on several setups but in the humid setups it always molded (white powdery growth on top of the fiber) so I quit that crap long time ago. Right now they have a multilayer cage (clay balls, foam, moss crowing sub, then certain mosses. Its new so Ill see how that goes. Im rather getting frustrated with trying to make my cage nice and all, perhaps I dont have the architectural creativity or whatever lol

@mrshroude12 thanks! yeah it becomes kind of expensive pretty quick the tank was around $150 i got alot of the stuff in side new from flea market for cheaper than the pet store but i would say about $50-$60 hope that helps

how often do you clean the tank?and how do you clean the tank? im new to this, and i learned online that if you dont clean the cage, you can get parasites and such :O

@julianamun i clean mine out every 4 weeks or so an spot clean if i see something in between cleanings. all i do is just take everything out and clean the tank an everything in bleach water the rinse it real good so that there isn't no bleach smell replace the substrate an put every thing back in and thats it. i dont think you have to worry about parasites unless your animal already had them before you get them alot of wild caught ten to have that problem tho hope this helps

@volcomgirl6437 i got mine at a local pet shop but petsmart should have them i belive it was around $150 for just the tank and background nothing else but you could get the tropical kit that comes with more stuff for around $200 hope that helps

@MrWaveshredder by medium you mean 18X18X24 then yeah you could keep 2 geckos in there but you wouldnt be able to keep a male an female in there their whole life to many problems with mateing an stuff like that but 2 females you would be able to tho

if u have a problem with moss just use reptile carpet , thats what i keep my 3-4 month baby on but it doesnt hold humidity well but it absorbs the pee so it doesnt go to the bottom of the glass so 5 stars on the carpet :D

hey, do you have a problem with mold growing, because i have, probably cause i mist the cage a lot (summer time). what do you use for substrate?

@smalls2426 i do from time to time i use eco earth as a substrate but what i'll do is remove the moldy spot an let the substrate dry out some an mix it around some then the rehydrate the soil thats how i keep the mold down you might just be misting it to much your cage doesn't have to stay the same humidity it's good to have highs and low throughout the day
