  • kwl vid. I gt a vid of dat 1 there aswell. I see it all the time cuz i live in northfield

  • i go thar alot, i got a vid of that one as well, its the west mids coppa choppa

  • @103dingdong well mate we must both be right?? im sure this is the old chopper that got torched in the arson attack at birmingham airport tho g-wmao. we currently borrow a ec135 untill we get a new one, but does anybody remember seeing a notar md 902 on patrol for a while?? theres a quick vid of it on the helipad at BHX what happened to that??

  • @hankevans83 G-WMAO was written off in the arson attack last June - and G-SUFF is standing in until G-POLA arrives in the next couple of months.

MD Explorer G-WMID (Now the Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance Aircraft G-KSSH) was the West Midlands helicopter from 2000 until G-WMAO replaced it in the Summer of 2007.

  • @ukemergencyaviation i see, well nice one for informing me, wonder if you can clear summat else up for me, im in debate with (103 dingdong) here about where its based? he says halfpenny green and i say Birmingham airport ??

just another thing im sure i saw a police md 902 in west mids in the last 3 years?

shame we aint getting another md its my favorite choppa!

  • @hankevans83 The West Midlands Police Air Ops Unit are based at Birmingham Airport. The Central Counties Air Operations Unit (West Mercia & Staffs Police) are based at Halfpenny Green and operate EC135P2+ G-HEOI, although at the time of this video it would have been EC135T1 G-CCAU. West Mids often drop in to the CCAOU base as was the case here.

  • @ukemergencyaviation cheers mate i thought so, as i used to track it flying back to base with a pair of binoculars and im sure it touched down over BHX somewhere.

kinda hard to tell as im about 8 miles away. so this isnt G-WMAO? also would our new chopper have a new call sign or is it still ALPHA OSCAR ONE. cheers for help you got sum good vids too bud.

  • @hankevans83 i agree,i love mc donnel doulases , theyre great aircraft manufacturures, i wish we had one,and btw, i wouldent call it a debate, just a sharing of knowladge i supose

  • @103dingdong no probs dingdong bud i was only kidding anyways mate, aye i just realized im one of the aviation nuts tho? i think its kinda ironic tho that ive had to hide from this bugger twice , kinda hard when i wanna gaze up at it lol oh well least i get a close up just for me.....anyways this was a few years ago now dont hate lol

  • @hankevans83 hey,i got a new vid up of this helicopter, go check it out

  • @hankevans83 i know this was like half a year ago now but recently, i have been to b,ham airport and i know what it is now. obviously the west mids is a vast area to cover, and thy need more than one 135 to cover the area, so wanyway when i was there i saw the police helicopter come in, and realized there were 2 helicopters, one at halfpenny and one at b,ham, sorry if this is old news to you i just dident realize before

  • @103dingdong yes well one of them has been perched over the roof of me house all day making a right racket, nearly blew me sausages right off me bbq lol

  • @hankevans83 lol keepin your beer nice and cool though aye.
