@katara244 No, they put anesthetics in your gums to prevent you from feeling anything. You don't even feel pressure. I'm a weenie when it comes to pain. Getting my ears pierced was the most painful experience of my life. A gingectomy doesn't even compare.
Hi, I had an injury on the upper part of my frontal teeth and the gum there has been destroyed. Is there any way to make the opposite prosedure? No to reduce but increase the gum. Thank you!
I had this done today along with my molars taken out. I was put to sleep first because I'm a whimp when it comes to pain. I have braces and it was my orthodonic's idea to have the gingivectomy done. My gums squeezed together as the spaces in my mouth closed up creating extra gum tissue in areas not needed. I now have to get vaneers once my braces are removed. All this has me close to $15,000 without insurance. Unfortunetly, dental work is not cheap.
I think I am a candidate for gingivectomy but also need braces Should I get braces before proceeding to do a gingivectomy? Can someone let me know. thanks.
This is an excellent video of the procedure - I recently had a fibrous tumor removed from my gums (I filmed the procedure myself - see the video on my posts) and I'm considering gingivectomy after the gums heal. Thanks for posting!
A gingivectomy is a periodontal surgical procedure which includes the removal of gingival tissue in order to achieve a more esthetic appearance and/or functional contour. Gingivectomies are frequently performed using electrosurgery to cauterize away the undesired gum tissue

Couldn't comment on the frenectomy since it wasn't allowed, so for the FRENECTOMY do you need anesthesia ?

enjoiskater1221 2 years ago
@enjoiskater1221 modern medicine is pain free...u'll feel a slight discomfort and that's all

@enjoiskater1221 why would you need a gingivectomy in the molar region?
