  • @capriat60: With my large family I count all the fathers/mothers day, b'day, valentines, christmas, cards I send every year, (plus get well, wedding and thank you's), I could spend over $200/year on cards. I bought some basic supplies & can make personalized cards for a fraction of the cost. I enjoy scrapping and cards as my only hobby. Plus, my family can get me things I want and will use for b'day/x-mas presents. True, it's easy to go overboard with this stuff, but don't knock all crafters.

  • Thank you, Gina, for the lesson on using Nestabilities dies in my Cuttlebug. I enjoy your tutorials & learn much from you. Responses to earlier ones- @MissMusicAmerica: I heard the C plate was included to allow using other brands of dies in the CuttleBug. They decided to discontinue them. @capria60: some of us use our CuttleBug to donate many, many cards for organizations such as Operation Write Home. Embossing or creating die cuts enables decorating without other embellishments.

  • After all the negative things I wrote, I want to add one positive one, these tools are great for teachers. But I see no use for this stuff at home, how many greeting cards a year do you need? I just feel sorry for all these women spending fortunes on provocraft junk.

  • @capriat60 I live in the US, but all my family lives in Europe. I make cards to send my sisters and Godchild every week. I spend many hours making cards! I also make cards to give as presents, I make ornaments, photo mats, bookmarks...I emboss paper napkins, ribbon, and on and on! So I feel lucky to have these "Provokraft Junk"!

  • well I am old and could afford now to buy the cricut and cuddlebugs and all that, but quite frankly, I think perhaps a few stamps, paper and scissors are fine for me. Unless you are in business, all this money spent on crafts seems crazy for me. Some can afford it, great, some make money off it, great, but I wonder if all that money spent on crafts should be put away for university. It all seems overdone to me all this craft stuff, just crazy money being spent here.

  • Hi, Ladies - for those of you asking about only receiving two "B" plates with your Cuttlebug purchase, this is normal. Most of us had to buy the "C" plate separately (I purchased mine from EBay, as well as the silicone mats). Then I was able to do all the above that Gina is showing us :) Aloha, Rosy

  • please explain to me what else you can do except cards, tags, scrapbooking. Unless you so these things with your kids, this is just a big toy for mom and neverminds the kids I guess. Please show some applicable cuttledbug and I mean practical applications, not just cards, but what I see here is just taking away playing time and spending money on your own which you should be buying your kid educational or saving for college. Parents becoming kids, who would have throught?

  • @capriat60 I believe you can use all kinds of materials through the Cuttlebug and the dies. For example, you could get various colors of fabric and run them through the animal dies (frogs, butterflies, dogs, cats, and so on, so that your kids can have 'soft' learning toys. You can color on eyes and mouths (prevent choking if the kids are very young). Many of us use Cuttlebug with our stamping projects. You could stamp out extra samples for your kids to color/paint/etc so they can imagine/create!

  • Thank you for going slowly. I have some Nestabilties, and didn't know the basic receipe to put down. Going to work on it today.

  • I know, I didn't get a C plate either. Mine came with an A plate and 2 B plates

  • My Cuttlebug didn't come with a C plate. Did I get a defectively packed item? I can't find anything that says what I should find in the box in the instructions.

  • This is the first of your videos I have watched and I must say your demonstrations and explanations for each technique are very informative. I will be watching all of your videos and placing them in my favorites! Thank you for taking the time to create these instructionals- you're a GREAT teacher! I just purchased a cuttlebug and some spellbinders dies and nestabilities and wanted to know how to use them. I can't wait til my cuttlebug arrives!

  • which plates do you use for cuttlebug dies?

  • Is it possible to use 2 embossing mats and not have to use the chipboard piece when embossing?

Appreciate any help I can get as I'm new to cuttlebug. Thanks!

  • P.S. Forgot to tell you that I LOVE LOVE LOVE your Gina K pure luxury card stock. It works great with COPICS for CAS cards!

  • Thank you - you are so cute and smart too! I just got a new Cuttlebug for Christmas and I have ordered my nestibilities and pad from Amazon. Thanks for helping me to get started! Your card is adorable!

  • Thank you Gina for an excellent tutorial on the Cuttlebug and Nestabiities!!

I have both and wasn't sure how to use either..at least not to the extent that I see you doing..

I'm getting it out my "Bug" this weekend to try it again!! LOVE STAMP TV...keep those great videos coming..appreciate all the time you must put into doing this with all the other work you have to do.
