  • i noticed you put soy/soya sauce in the burgers, im hoping u mean a gluten free one like tamari as the normal is NOT gluten free!

  • So you don't need a special round baking pan for the burger rolls? I've never baked burger rolls before. In Germany we take other kinds of rolls, and it's called "Frikadelle im Broetchen" (oe=ö) ...in this vegetarian case "Gemuesebratling im Broetchen" (ue=ü; oe=ö) Our patties are not flat, they are thick. About 3 - 5 cm thick. But your american way looks great. So back to my question about baking authentic burger rolls. Do Americans usually use backing pans for backing their rolls in the oven?

    Hi, I'm not sure how Americans do their burger buns. I am acctually Norwegian. This is just the way I do them, but you can make them your way :)

  • HI there, I've tried many veggie burger recipes and am still not satisfied. Would you kindly share your version of a veggie burger please? And what is soya mince? I live in the U.S. and I havn't seen that in health food stores......

  • Hi, Oh they don't have soya mince in the US? I'm off there next week so i will hunt around and find out what its called etc. I have perfected a better recipe for veggie burgers now. Lentil Burgers 500g brown lentils water 1 large onion or 1 leek Boil up in a pan for roughly 1 hr When all the water has evaporated Add 5 tablespoons (maybe more) When mixture is cool shape into balls, nuggets or burger. Fry for 5 mins on each side in a non stick with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Good luck

    look for TVP (Textured Vegetable Protein) it is just "chopped" dry soy meat! it is availible in different sizes :)

    Hi, i looked around everywhere in the US in New York last week and couldn't find it anywhere, but below someone has found it - TVP they said its called. Try the lentil burgers - you wont be disappointed.

  • Yes it may be packaged as TVP Textured Vegetable Protein or TSP textured Soy Protein. Often found in Bulk Foods sections in Health /Whole Foods Stores or packaged by Bob's Red Mill.

    Yes its gluten free in the uk and in cyprus, where i lived for a long time. Not sure about the US, I did look there last year but found it difficult to find. <here it is in the health food shops. Anette

  • How long do you leave the burger buns on the tray to rise, before baking?

  • Cover with cling film and leave in the sun or in an airing cupboard until they have doubled in size. Should take 1/2 hr maybe. If you don't have much sun or an airing cupboard it will take 2 hours approx. Hope that helps.

    in the uk soy is mostly spelt soya
