I was at a cup game in 87. Spurs v Newcastle. It was almost a disaster and only averted by opening some of the empty terraces to the Newcastle fans. So close to people getting hurt. It was so scary! I cannot imagine what was like for those fans at Hillsborough.
I'm a proud Geordie and it always brings a tear to my eye when I think of the 96 Liverpool fans who went to a football match and lost their lives. You will never be forgotten and You will never walk alone.
@Jungleloyalscouse Great comments mate !!! I also watched the speeches in tears ,Scuse my language ,but fuck Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Twat Milliband .....this is the man who should be leading The Labour Party .
The only reason why the Torries are fighting not to release what happened one fatefull summer day 21 years ago is because it will condemn one of their own, the then Prime Minister, Maggie Thatcher. Shame on them for doing so. Justice must be gotten before that bitch dies. JFT96!!
@cockywatchman1976 OK fair enough, I just think Andy Burnham is one of the few decent politicians out there today. Maybe I should see it as an attack on government and not the man personally. Peace.
@19STU84 Yeah, i think you're right. he does seem decent enough. If anything it was an attack on politics, the system and prejudice. One things for sure, I'd rather have a Labour government back than the Tories. If Thatcher was talking, i believe any response would have been justified! I dunno, I didn't lose anyone at Hillsborough, but I was there, I was 13 years old. I can just feel the sense of anger and bitterness that noone has been punished for such incompetence.i mean Duckenfield retired
@19STU84contd on a full police pension, early retirement on health grounds! You can see why emotions and anger still runs high. It would be easy to say move on,or let go-these feelings are just eating you up, its 20 years ago etc. but if it was my child or loved one,I don't think I could rest until something was done.At least the FULL truth coming out. Some of the public comments you see on youtube (lies believed and hatred towards Liverpool-tabloids) just makes the feeling strongerTake care mate.
I am from Malaysia and too young to remember what happened in '89 but I really do hope that people power will triumph above the bureaucracy that the UK government is showing. This minister can talk all he wants, supposedly on behalf of the Prime Minister, but nothing will talk more than unveiling those documents to really show the whole truth and give people closure.
@NunChuckers1 I agree my freind....good start to the season for us both hope the old time liverpool utd rivalry starts proper again soon us 2 clubs hate each other because we are the best 2 clubs in the english football history and i wouldent have it any other way.... nothing beats pool vs utd the intesnsity and the simalar history for the clubs. This campaign is not about grief for the poor souls who lost their lives that day, it's a heartless witch hunt of blame on the wrong people.
@sonicnuckle what evidence are you going by that actually hapening none thought so due to overcrowding becausethere was no police directing fans away from pens 3 and 4 signs were telling them too go in and even though the it was due to overcrowding the leppings lane end was not full and could have took more fans in so if police had directed fans into other pens then no disaster would have happened so explaon if it was ticketless fans how come the stand could have held more supportrs
@sonicnuckle so stop spreading ignorant false shit and trying to get a reaction out of people when innocent children lost their lives did you get all that through your thick skull good. justice for the 96 YNWA
@sonicnuckle Fuckin do one you thick, Sun-reading twat. The only murderers are South Yorkshire bizzies - they're liars as well... scum like all Police!
The Liverpool fans were the heroes that day and that's a fact. We were the ones who used advertising boards as make-shift stretchers, whilst plod stopped ambo's getting to that end of the pitch.
@sonicnuckle the police were in the midst of the age of hooliganism, so on that day in April the outskirts and any means of travel, i.e, train stations, bus routes, motorways etc were policed up to the nines to ensure nobody was drunk or ticket less. What does that tell you?
@ 1:17 people can say what they like about scousers, they can say what they want about LFC but fuck me tell me that what you just saw was not men and women fighting for what they believe in, one stands and demands justice and they all stand. They live by their song YNWA
It didn't matter what team you supported tbh, what happend was just awful and should never be repeated anywhere in the world. Since it was such a bad thing to happen, WHY could the prime minister not show his own face and give his own message to the people who had turned up to pay tribute and remember what happend.
Liverpool fans are a credit for keeping up this fight and wanting justice for their fellow fans and friends; you're more than a football club and like may others, I hope you get the justice you deserve!

Yep thanks frostyal, At times like that rivalries have to be put aside. People who take the piss out of the hillsborough disaster are a disgrace, they aren't football fans they're just sick minded twats. Same applies with Munich and every other disaster.
I am as a passionate United fan you'll find red to the core, but as much as the two clubs hate each other, football rivalries are of insignificance to this.
Am in mauritius n hope z queen will do justice 4 our bro who died 20 years ago. bt have a look around anfield where i saw about 45000 people singing bt its nt 45000 bt it is 45000*96 which means i heard 4320000 singing 2gether 4 justice
While it was no place for the government, do actually have to give Burnham some credit for actually remaining dignified throughout it. He should never have had to do it in the first place. And all it took was one person shouting "Justice!"

@frostyal
R.I.P to the 96.

While it was no place for the government, do actually have to give Burnham some credit for actually remaining dignified throughout it. He should never have had to do it in the first place. And all it took was one person shouting "Justice!"
