Never played WoW. Thought about it, but then again, I was told FFXI is a much better mmorpg, so IDK what to invest in. As for runescape, it requires a decent amount of skill if you're not just AFKing on newbs and low-level npc's the whole time. You gotta use the right spells, right prayers, right armor, right items, right weapons, and right items all at the right time, or them AFKers will fuck your shit up. But, that's just me. How is WoW though? I've never played it?
@Uberado From playing runescape when I was younger, I went to WoW and it is such a step up... Everything is better. The lore, the gameplay....PvE and PvP. The advanced quest system is much better than RS and the race/class feature is a huge plus! WoW isn't for everyone though. Just download the client from somewhere and play on a private server. If you like it, go to retail. It's well worth the money and so much better. Not to say there aren't some good Private Servers. Hope you like it :)

2:takes only 30 seconds to kill monsters instead of 20 minuets on 1 demon

5the final:wow takes less time to get online and play runscape however takes fucking 1 hour to load and wen it does and you log in you have to w8 15 minuets more.

2. rs skills are mostly click once and u can afk
3. wow has proffesions too. herbalism, mining (not just click ore and go afk), smithing, tailoring, enchanting, etc.
4. more complex combat. Many skills, often times pros go into deep %'s and mechanics to be the best

I play Wow now but what everyone needs to understand is that they are two completely different games. For a start, wow has about 12 hours of patches etc to install and runescape is a simple browser game that can be played with only java.

i have many reasons why wow is better here is a few of em
1:WOW is its nickname
2:takes only 30 seconds to kill monsters instead of 20 minuets on 1 demon
3:wen you die you keep your armour instead of having a time limit on how long it will stay there before it goes
4:the graphics are 100X better
5the final:wow takes less time to get online and play runscape however takes fucking 1 hour to load and wen it does and you log in you have to w8 15 minuets more.

Why wow is better
1. Play on a private server. Molten wow offers practically retail experience, you can even choose 3x normal xp, or even 12x or 20x if you wanna speed lvl
2. rs skills are mostly click once and u can afk
3. wow has proffesions too. herbalism, mining (not just click ore and go afk), smithing, tailoring, enchanting, etc.
4. more complex combat. Many skills, often times pros go into deep %'s and mechanics to be the best
5. Add ons- health bars, action bars, games!

Which then will lead to addicts I play Rs because it has most (not all) qualities every MMO should have. Rs also has a lot more hours of gameplay while in wow you can easily beat the game in a month no-lifing it which is what most of wow guys do. So basically Rs is the better all around MMO even though the graphics are not superior to Wow's

i know that WoW is much more better but can u make ur own weapons, learn magic mining,craft, farm , fish, explore ,doing quest, completing task, plant, woodcutting, fire making, make your own clothes, make your own armor, and crafting ur own arrows. Runescape looks A LOT different now but still you cant even compare the two at all. Runescape you pay $5 a month and WoW you pay $15 plus the expansions. and its freaking Blizzard they are God. Runescape you play off a web browser and WoW you have to download about like 17gigs and play off its own application. Obviously wow is gonna be better no doubt about it. For the Horde!

Runescape is A FLASH game.. It's not a real game. It's not an MMO. There's no bosses. If you call a boss putting on your prayer and seeing how many sharks and potions you have in your bag to kill it a boss you don't have a clue. The majority of your game is clicking.. You click on that tree for 2 months.. You click on that guy and watch the same fighting technique re-play itself then click special attack. I play Wow now but what everyone needs to understand is that they are two completely different games. For a start, wow has about 12 hours of patches etc to install and runescape is a simple browser game that can be played with only java.
It is just down to what you like. Frankly, graphics of a game don't make ANY difference to me, unless they are so bad that they deter my playing of it.

1. The only thing RS has blatantly copied from WoW is dungeoneering, yes that is a pretty big one, but they need to come out with something new and its tough to come up with completely original content.
2. It's hard to get an exact number but, after researching it more, I'm going to assume they have roughly the same amount of active players.

I've played both and they're both okay for a while and then you realise they're full of retards and you realise the content becomes very repetitive.
And yeah I know Cataclysm's supposed to change everything, but if the endgame's just full of grinding for gear again then that doesn't sound appealing.
I'd just rather wait for some fresh mmos to come out like SWTOR and GW2.
