  • "well, that....blows" lmao, good commentary

  • Seems like FlyTampa has got to put some new skid-marks into their St. Barts scenery xDD

  • this airport is a hard place to land... ebaumsworld[DOT]com/video/watch/82133606/

  • He was just way too hot! Too fast, the plane did not set down on the runway.. If you don't have the wheels glued on the runway by 1/2 way down, it is GO-AROUND time. Pilot had a mind-set that he was going to land no matter what. He needs some remedial training.

  • Best commentary ever!

  • Can it blend?

  • Crashit.......so cant it come ^^

  • st farts XD

  • lol

  • Lol the pilot was coming in too fast and didnt land fast enough.

  • "woooooooooooooow... crap..." lol xD

  • 'that kinda...blows.' lol

  • Seems like he pulled up a little too hard when landing and put it back in the air rather than on the ground.

  • i like how the guy goes woohhh!

  • This must be common for these guyss

  • eh, that kinda blows.

  • Judging by the wild track marks in the runway this happens or almost happens on a regular basis there.

  • em uma apr desse tipo e uma pista dessas, ficou mais de 4 segundos voando em cima da pista, arremete!

  • lololol

  • Ok Pilots of St. Barts: Why do these jokers land on this runway, and not on the opposite??

  • @ScudRunnR Because if you land on the other side and need a go around you would not be able to clear the hills.

  • @QuickjetVA Copy. You know, bush pilots, like in Idaho, land on one way strips all day long, with no option of a go-around. I am just saying, that it might be a good option... It even looks like Rwy10 is downhill! You just gotta have a decision alt, below that your commited. If I were a chief pilot, not quite sure which Rwy i would choose for ops... Probably 28...

  • @ScudRunnR It's not just that there are other factors being wind and so on that could be a contributing factor. Either way it is obviously better seeming that runway 10 in being used.

  • @QuickjetVA Copy. Thanks for the input Quickjet =)

  • ...landing at a notoriously tricky spot on the planet..

blows past the lions share of the runway..and plants the wheels anyway.

a grand example of "magical thinking"..

" I shall succeed in this wild ass maneuver because

I wish it to be so".

*next time, use more pixie dust.

  • where are the sharks? and blood on the water? where?

  • :07 loch ness monster in water?

  • lucky people and lucky clip

  • that kinda blows??wtf??

  • Uh oh forgot to check how long the runway is said the pilot

you better pay for that shrapenel said his boss

    (BLEEP) said the pilot

  • should have aborted the first 10 ft or so of over flaring...

  • lol like romantic nights

  • He really should've come in from the other side...

  • crap?!

  • thepilot fucked this up. You cant land more than 2 thirds of the runway at that speed and then try stop. Thank goodness no injuries, experience under the belt though...

  • @TheMoreauP ;)

  • At least he made the touchdown zone...for Runway 28.

  • @ChasenSFO lol you are funny

  • @TheMoreauP We fucked last night, remember?...

  • @TheMoreauP So are you

  • b ié huru pilote sa me donne pas du tou envie de venir dans ton avion au lieu de fair un touch and go non ia il attéri quan même

  • Ground effect takes another victim. Videographer didnt have much sympathy for those on board.

  • HOLY SHITBALLS........that wasn't in the catalog....!

  • "That kinda....blows."

  • Is the plane okay?

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR PILOT

  • @adrian6915 Hey dude STFU already. You don't know how many hours he even had. He may have been a rooky pilot with less than 10 hours. And I bet you wouldn't do it much better.

  • hm i will make you doing things

  • whats the identifier?

  • LOOOL

  • hiya Do not waste time, come to my room I'm all burning

  • LoL, everyone is mockin the pilot, and he was probably having a heart attack or something LoL ... or he put his reading glasses on by mistake, instead of his flying ones...

  • lollllllllllllllllll

  • God I love this island. I've been there so many times.

  • The Reaction to that is class.

  • wtf?

    shoulda went back arond.

  • Looks like a case of not compensating for ground effect.

  • Difficult landing.

  • He touches the ground too late :o

  • Extremely poor judgement by the pilot or overconfidence. Very bad decision nonetheless.

  • pilot deff should have aborted

  • @Spanduer90 Is abortion legal at St. Barts?

  • Does bad luck always follow you around ?

  • Crap¿?¿? thats all¿?

  • somebody almost died on that plane but the camera guy still laughing

  • @davishthai4422 nah no injuries thank goodness

  • craaap

  • hehe I`m a very sesy girl as you will see waiting you to teach me

  • @jokerj4573 Yep that's what I say too ;)

  • Well, that moron probably obtained his liscense from some online school or something. Good God!

  • @billace90 Well, morons like you probably think that's possible.

  • Good Bus Driver... Where was the Pilot ?

  • 1 PILOT : RIGHT IN THE TDZ PLIS....

    2 PILOT: OKEIIIIIII.......

1 PILOT: WTF.....I MEANT THE PRIOR TOUCH DOWN ZONE.!!

    ....CRASH

  • una vez pasado el segundo tercio de la pista. MOTOR A FONDO Y REHUSAR!

  • Where is that airport?

  • @Nandinhoization LOOK AT THE TITLE!!

  • R U using some UV filter??

  • wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow!

  • hey what model plane is that?

  • pilot error....the fool should've done a touch-and-go, should go back to pilot classes

  • lol he flew over half the runway

  • "That kind of... blows" <----- LOL

  • Pretty quick response on the crash truck...

  • That kind of blows

  • insurance?

  • again and again

the middle of the runway is POINT OF DECISSION

you touch down and stop or

    YOU GO AROUND!!!!!

  • @ThePilot314

There seems to be some confusion due to this "halfway down decision point"; if you are a pilot, be careful with that. Example: your destination has a 3,000 ft runway (not uncommon for small airports); for the aircraft you're flying today, factoring elevation & temperature, your CALCULATED landing distance (required to do EVERY flight) is 1,600 ft. If you land at the halfway point (1500 ft), you're short 100 ft... and that's assuming correct speed. Decision point = plan ahead.

  • @derinderruheliegt

You might be right BUT the rule is like i wrote above!!!!

Independent how long the runway is ........ halfway point ist halfway point for touch down or airborne.

I can tell you about a deadly ended flight as this halfway point was not accepted!

e.g. in Schönhagen near Berlin, touch and go training / rating ...... pilot and trainer long runway but a too long touch down and a take later halfway down point and then touching the trees, crash and fire 2 persons death!

  • @ThePilot314

You missed the point. Fore some aircraft on some runways it may work, but there are cases where halfway is still too late.

On the other side, if you are landing on a 10,000 ft runway, would you go-around at the halfway point knowing you still have 5,000 ft available? Obviously you can't answer that without knowing the aircraft type and conditions. Some larger type aircraft would not be able to that, albeit legally or physically.

Bottom line- in no way is "halfway" a rule.

  • @derinderruheliegt

i am so sorry ........ BUT you start on a 10.000 ft runway and ......... you normaly would have airborne i.e. at 3.000 ft ........ but at half way point / 5.000 ft you are still on the runway!!!!!!

That means there is something wrong with your engines!!!!!!! Or your are very much overweight!

AND ........ you stay on the ground and check the engines etc. at the apron!!!!

  • @ThePilot314

First, the assumption is we are talking about landing.

Either way, takeoff or landing, there are ways to determine ahead of time what your performance should be... to a reasonable degree of accuracy. Yes, other approximations work in SOME cases, but you are required to do the exact calculations.

If you want to talk about takeoff- yes, few aircraft would take 5,000 ft; but some do. For some companies/aircraft there are speed checks to gage acceleration during takeoff.

  • @derinderruheliegt Let me further clarify with a more succinct summary of my point.

The intent of calculating the distances ahead of time is not to try to push things to the limit, but to see if you need to be MORE conservative; waiting until halfway may be too late, perhaps 1/3 or 1/4 is better. After you check the charts, you will know.

  • hey you really rock bcoz it seems you were recording a video only for fun or experiance but this happened....gud job...

  • @jokerj4573 They were too lazy to G/A I think

  • Yes, he should've aborted. But had the right initial approach, he just didn't compensate for ground effect. You'll notice that he's descending fine until he gets close to the ground. then he seems to "float" down the runway. That's ground effect. by the time he finally compensated, it was too late. Pilot error, but not worth losing a license over.

  • @FirebirdA18 Theres no way to compensate for ground effect... That floating just meant he was too hot, thus his approach was crap. Lower approach speed= less float during the flare. And obviously its pilot error. You should probably just stop commenting because its clear you do not know what your talking about.

  • @ritualghost Kinda harsh...You are right though. I shouldn't have said compensate. He just should have expected it. I never said it wasn't pilot error. I'm still just an Aviation Student learning all of this, but we went over it this week and I just happened across this video today. When i said his approach was right i meant his vector, not necessarily his speed. That said I will bow to you obviously superior knowledge. :)

  • Thats why you don't let idiots have a pilot license :)

  • Hahaha, that's the motive why I never choose this airport on Flight Simulator.

  • That kind of.... blows?

  • @jokerj4573

exactly, surely the pilot realised that it was too late.

  • I bet that there's someone down there with a mirror, reflecting the sun into the pilot's eyes.

  • i ve heard rumors of this guy still flightin for god's sake somebody report this individual to the FAA or any government agency

  • "Well that kinda... Blows!" ROFLMAO That is fantastic. Glad everyone is ok though.

  • Difficult runway but no excuse for that. He touched down in the last 1/4 of the runway! That aircraft has plenty of power, he could have aborted that landing and performed a go around all the way until about :31

  • Fast+ground effect = video above lol

  • He was going too fast when landing, that was altso why he did't tuch down before way past mid-Runway.

  • Great response of the emergency crew!

  • What would happen if that was a passenger jet like a MD80, or 737?

  • @MichaelTheTerrible It wouldn't. A MD80 or 737 would need a longer runway.

  • Man, after missing at least half the runway, I hope he had a darn good reason for not aborting that landing, like not enough fuel or something.

  • was he thinking it is a sea plane :P

  • Comment removed

  • @86anam , good job, best comment i've read so far

  • what a dumbass...how can you become a pilot if you can't judge the distance between point A and B

  • Nice landing - right on the centreline

  • Comment removed

  • he was coming in unstable and too fast.but the angle of glide was ok.also he should aim fot the threshold if he is landing on a short runway

  • plan see jump on trip

  • Comment removed

  • There should be a big sign " Warning landing strip not for novice pilots"

  • chuck norris could of landed that plane inches away from the end..

  • @2011skaterblue No, just because he is Chuck Norris doesn't mean it effects his plane flying abilities.

  • @2011skaterblue

chuck Norris and that airplane would be swimming.

  • wow that is terrible judgement!

  • that kinda...blows

  • Legal o acidente. Queria estar nesse avião só para dizer que sobrevivi a uma queda de avião.

  • This guy reacts like that is daily basis for him .. "crap" ? i say crap when a car back's into a lightpost...if i was him i would be like "OHMYFUCKINGGAWDDDD I HAVE NEVER SEEN SOMTIN' LIKE THAT IN MY ENTIRE FUCKING LIFE.. THE GUYS WILL NEVER BELIEVE THIS"

  • I don't want to date a fucking chinese lady so get nrid of pop ups

  • why can't we share this one ?

  • piloto muito ruim esse hein... na cara que ia da merda esse pouso ai... olha o vento de proa que ele ta pegando... fora dificuldade da pista... tinha que arremeter na hora...

  • se komio la pista ese capi jjejejj

  • I don't think that's gonna buff out!

  • thank kinda...BLOWS?

  • Crap!

  • looks like me on flight simulator X XD

  • @kiwi20069 me to xD

  • Lol! all these comments trying to get thumbs up is getting kinda ridiculous

  • Look at the water... Aaahh so pretty, ah such a nice AAARRGHH

  • Came in too fast! Could've shortened his round-out also

  • emergency took their time.. :s

  • WHY FOR THE FIRE ENGINE!!IT'S IN THE SODDING OCEAN...LOL...

  • wow he /she floated too long and should have gone round

  • What part of " go around" haven´t you understood

  • SAAAAve meee OBI 1KANOBI>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • A very famous quote states: "If you can walk away from a plane, it's a good landing. If you can use that plane again afterwards, it's a GREAT landing".

  • he wanted to crash

  • CRAP!

  • Feel bad for the guy, but it's hard not to laugh. I wonder if the co-pilot or passengers were screaming for a go around.

  • I hope the twat had his licence revoked

  • I know someone who was on that airplane..... Hi Wes, I'm sure you show this video from time to time!....Jason

  • patrick! Patrick? PATRICK !!!?!?!?!? waaaaaahhhhhh PATRICKE!!!! WAAAAAAAHHH!!!

  • Ele errou feio na aterrisagem usando manos da metade da pista!

  • If You Drink You Dont Fly Even if You Just Smoke

  • that plane is like the easiest plane to land!! what a shitty pilot

  • Should have abborted the landing when he reached half way across the runway

  • it is not a waterplane!!!

  • even though u can land a plane here... i guess you could have build your runway in a better location...

  • "Craap" - priceless

  • fail...

  • Comment removed

  • @herb420ful normal speed.. the problem was where he touched :P

  • too fast..huu..=.=

  • That's why computers will control the airplanes of the future ;)

  • Comment removed

  • @MarcoTUV

Computers already do the most things except starting and landing and they could already do 100%

Just look at the aerospace industry. The space shuttles were 100% computer controlled. From the start to the landing.

  • dont he knews that airplane are not submarines ahead

  • "That kinda ... blows."

    Sums it up nicely...

  • bye bye pilot career lol

  • @lcserg87 You'd be surprised at the number of pilots who are proud of the number of planes they've crashed.

  • @tsbrownie LOL...

  • @lcserg87

Our careers are safe because we fly in Microsloth Fright Stimulator.

  • @lcserg87 Actually he still flies today. St Bart's is one of the most difficult airports in the world.

  • he took too long to touch the ground
