  • So proud - Ida Lupino is my great aunt. Almost a spitting image of my grandmother. I am sad I never got the change to meet her!

  • Excellent compilation of photos of a lovely lady and a fine actress/director.

  • The Museum of Modern Art mounted a superb retrospective of Lupino films this past summer, including all but one of the early films noir she directed as well as some she appeared in but didn't direct. My own favorites were "The Bigamist" with Edmond O'Brien, the astonishing jewel she wrote, directed, and in which she played the lead, like Chaplin or Orson Welles, and Raoul Walsh's "They Drive By Night" with George Raft, which I'd somehow never seen (the print was superb). She was fantastic.

  • Wonderful. Thanks for the post

  • Im related to her too! shes my grandma's dads cousin!!!! : )

  • Basil, you're amazing! You seem to honor all the legends I love.

  • Could you please do me the favor of telling me the name of the song? I really like it. Nice video by the way, she's a great actress.Your channel is amazing, congrats! thank you.

  • The title of the music is 'Outra Vez' played by French pianist Richard Clayderman. Glad you enjoyed the video!

  • Of course..I might see the video over and over again...thank you for the information, my congratulations newly Basilnelson.

  • The music is exquisite!

  • I have seen most of Ida Lupino's movies. With all of her talent, in front and behind the camerak,I have never figured out why the Academy of Motion Pictures has never awarded Ms. Lupino an Oscar. As an actress, director and producer, she was far more talented than those they awarded with Oscars. Neither was she awarded an award for her work in TV. Whoever runs these groups should me ashamed for not giving Ida Lupino the awards that she so richly deserved.

  • @basilnelson Thnx for the slideshow of Ida Lupino..Man alive she was a wonderful actress...Beautiful and talented which is a rare combination thesedays in Hollywood, etc..If you have any more of her please post em on here?? Would be extremely grateful if you could...Thankyou...

  • @reaper060670 For more Ida Lupino, check out my second tribute MOVIE LEGENDS - IDA LUPINO (REPRISE).

Enter the title into the SEARCH box for quick access.

  • @aldowintel Ida Lupino was definitely one of the sexiest women actors of her time..Of all time probably in my opinion..Christ she is a beautiful woman. I could stare at pics of her all day and night..I'm not a perv..I swear..lol..She is just unbelievably beautiful in TRhe Adventures of Sherlock Holmes..That was the 1st time i saw her in action. She was a great actress aswell. Talent and beauty? Lethal combination...Unlike most of our actors in Hollywood today. I wanna say thnx 4 de slideshow

  • Very, very pretty when she was young.

  • fell in love when iusaw her in lone wolf and spy recently. in the 60s. past her prime, thought she was old and not pretty at all

  • A few years ago I was in an 18month relationship with a girl, lovely she was, and her grandmother said she looked like Ida Lupino. Looking at the first image in particular and @1:38 @3:28(with dark hair)...OMG 3:40 it's her!! the resemblance is uncanny. Nice images, thanks.

  • im related to her!!!!! just found out last month on my family tree!!!!! shes my great nans cousin!!!!! kooooooool XD

  • I have noticed that there are two classic actresses who are extremely hot and passionate in love scenes. One was Ann Sheridan, the other was Ida.Notice how she just about melts Humphrey Bogart in "High Sierra," and practically anihilates Robert Ryan at the end of "On Dangerous Ground." Wonder how many retakes she asked for... and how many the guys asked for, as they all seemed to having a perfectly wonderful time. :-)

  • basilnelson, wonderful post, not only was Ms. Lupino a drop dead beautiful woman but what she did as a director (and producer as well, I think) for women in the film industry was extraordinary. Looking forward to your other posts.

  • basilnelson Thank you for all of these videos, especially the music you selectively chosen for these beauties of all times. My aunt looked like Maria Del Rio and Rita Hayward or is it Haywood?

  • Close. It's the lovely Rita Hayworth. Glad you like my tributes to the Mexican Stars. I am planning a further tribute to the beautiful Dolores Del Rio later this year.

  • Great tribute! She was a great actress & director.

  • What a talent Ida Lupino was! A great actress and one of the first female stars to make the transition to directing.

  • Great Video. As a young girl I used to write to Ms Lupino asking for autographs. She sent me pics and this went on for many years, I kid you not!! We exchanged birthday & holiday cards. When she passed away, her daughter called me at home (living in NJ) and told me of her passing. What a heartbreak for me. I have a DVD of my fav movie "deep valley" which mher daughter sent me. I'm now 60 Yrs old. What a memory for me, which I will treasure for the rest of my life. I love this actress.

  • Thank you for sharing your memories of this great Hollywood star. I am planning to release further tributes to both Susan Hayward and Ida Lupino in the future, with all new images.

  • @blueyedKSGirl if you ever have an opportunity to speak to Ida lupino's daughter, please tell her that I was also one her mother's fans. Of course, I saw most of her movies as a teenager. I am older than you are. I have written TCM about showing Ida Lupino movies to an entire new generatiion. Again,I would like to see Ms.Lupino get her rewards from the motion picture and TV people. ellile760

  • She looks so adorable.

  • shes a hollywood legend. a pioner, an idol.

    lovely lady

  • I adore her. The tone of her voice. Whow. She was so sexy and brilliant. Moved with the times and even helped shape them.

  • She was a great brit

  • Who said that a good girl should,nt play a bad girl?

she was the best bad girl HollyWood ever knew on

screen, but surely the Greatest good girl to ever

be poured into a silky evening gown. Her beauty

has a spark of mystery that most men desire.

Ida Lupino never looked more Beautiful*

    Pierre

  • I think she is the second toughest broad in Hollywood following Miss Bette Davis of course.

  • Tough Broads like Bette Davis and Ida Lupino put

womens Lib on the map` their boxing gloves were

their sharp witty speech, and their brawn was

the fearless approach into a mans world.
