It begs the question, should we pick and choose what is truth in the bible? How do we determine what is truth. And is not God capable of great wonders?
God is definitely capable of great wonders, and I truly believe that with His omnipotence, he created everything necessary for life, put together a large ball of energy and "BIG BANG" or something similar. It is in this creation that I feel all laws of science were formed and then left to occur naturally without Divine Intervention.
To me, the most important thing in the Bible is the ten commandments given to Moses, and from that, the words of Jesus to say, "do unto your bretheren as you would like done unto you."
I do not pick and choose what is truth in the Bible, to me it is all true...but not necessarily a literal interpretation.
How do we determine what is truth? Well, God gave us great minds and dominion over the earth, we are left to discover what we can for ourselves. The rest we will learn in Heaven.

What exactly is your point here. I think you must've missed the beginning of the conversation. American scientists are fine, but for some reason the general population is way behind, stuck in a religious coma. Only 40% of Americans believe in evolution (as opposed to 95% of your scientists) which is unfortunate, to say the least.
The saddled Triceratops can be found at the creation museum Google it. They have job openings. I suggest you apply, it would suit you fine.
My point is that I am a scientist and engineer...but also have faith in God and Jesus Christ as my savior. The lot of those like me also are leaders in our society...we have been enlightened in ALL areas relevant to life.
While that 40% figure is appalling, I do not fall in that group, and again those "like me" mostly believe as I do.
Most Christian faith is based upon the REALITY of evolution and enhanced by the fact that one day, a primate became a human by the presence of a soul...
Whether you want to believe in God or any other deity is up to you, that is your personal choice...but our faith does not stop us from advancing scientifically. To me, the laws of nature are part of God's Perfect Plan and left for us to discover.
On the other hand, this is getting way off the point of abortion. Religious belief or not, I cannot understand how any human being would consider a 'fetus' as unworthy of life, especially when most reasons are because of selfish pursuits...
I don't know if you have seen the original video that is now posted on NMA TV as per the link in the info box, but I find it very strange that the most liberal state, California, found Scott Peterson guilty of murdering his "unborn" fetus, yet they consider abortion to be A-OK...and in fact, abortion rates are the highest in this state.
A fetus' heart begins to beat at 5-weeks, from the moment of conception, it is laced with human DNA...how can this not be considered life?
Limitations of Scientific Endevour: In science, explanations are limited to those based on observations and experiments that can be substantiated by other scientists. Explanations that cannot be based on empirical evidence are not a part of science.
Today, many religious denominations accept that biological evolution has produced the diversity of living things over billions of years of Earths history. Many have issued statements observing that evolution and the tenets of their faiths are compatible. Scientists and theologians have written eloquently about their awe and wonder at the history of the universe and of life on this planet, explaining that they see no conflict between their faith in God and the evidence for evolution...
...Religious denominations that do not accept the occurrence of evolution tend to be those that believe in strictly literal interpretations of religious texts.
Regarding your job application comment, I will have to pass on that opportunity. First because it is not something I support. Second, I am too busy running a business, employing Americans, taking HUGE risks and paying extremely high taxes. My society and it's welfare recipients are too reliant on me for my money...so we are all best served if I stay right where I am now...
PS - I did see a Triceratops skeleton casting in the on-line photo, but I did not see a saddle on it...I have never been there, and I most likely never will...but believing tha man once rode on a Triceratops is akin to believing that we could tame a gorilla and use it for our transportation...we can't even get all dogs reliably tamed!
If you can direct me to an actual photo, I would be interested in seeing it.
JHancock1776 : But are they less intelligent because they believe in the literal interpretations? I will never put down ones beliefs as they are personal and deep. I respectfully allow one to believe as they see fit, as you said in the big picture, there are more fundamental things we need to know and do in order that we may all "just get along" with each other.
I cannot say that someone is less intelligent for that reason alone. However, I personnally cannot except the literary sense of creation...too much scientific evidence exists for me and I believe carbon dating to be an accurate measuring tool.
What I see is that non-creationists can take this point-of-view and twist it into the way every religious person thinks about all of science.
Biology, chemistry, natural, medical, mechanical, electrical, nuclear, etc. are many different scientific fields that are important to us today...a creationist's beliefs about evolution should not make anyone consider them to be ignorant about science in general.
I have presented many scientists to DrCynic1 who believe in Intelligent design. Most of the scientists I presented at one time believed in evolution. They found as they dug deeper that Intelligent design was the only explanation for so many things.DrCynic1 surmised that they then stopped being scientists. So there ya have it . Ya gotta laugh !!
@ chopngratty...while it seems we don't fully agree with each other on everything, my opinion/faith is that there is indeed intelligent design...but that is brought on by God's overall plan...which would include evolution.
I hope I don't offend you, but in the big picture, there are more fundamental things we need to know and do in order that we may all "just get along" with each other.
NO offense Jhancock1776. My skin is thick and I have not stopped trying to learn , my first point was that I believe abortion is murder, in my humble opinion. Our disagreements are strictly theological..no problem. I take the bible as it is and believe what it says to be true, Genesis speaks to the creation question.

Bullshit. "Meet Your Meat" shows slashed throats...
Pro-abortion people are always horrified by the pictures of babies murdered by abortion...but it isn't because they have actual feelings about it...it's because they know for a fact that those pictures change minds.
People who support the wholesale slaughter of babies don't ever actually want to see it. It's absolutely amazing to me.
I am 100% certain that if more Americans saw these pictures, abortion would dwindle rapidly. - That's why the libs freak out over them.
But something I've thinking about...am I wrong to leave up my anti-sniper video, video. Perhaps everyone needs to see these headshots to truly understand war. An honest question, for sure. Is my patriotism giving me a double standard? PM me if you want. ;-P
I'll try to answer this one here...so perhaps more people can witness it.
First of all, the biggest mistake people make is comparing war to abortion. You know, the old, lame argument that you can not be truly pro-life and support your country going to war. - Well...YES you can.
People should know that war will cause death...though, it still amazes me how many dumbass Americans were actually shocked by this concept when we first went to Iraq. And, of course you can not wage a war ....
without causing civilian deaths. Fact of life...war is dirty, brutal, loud, and mean. Which is why it should never be entered into lightly. You know I fully support the war in Iraq, and know personally what that meant. So, being aware of this doesn't make war 'easier' or 'good'..but, it does make the reality of it a bit less shocking and/or disturbing. That may sound harsh...but then again, so is war.
So...we have concluded that war equals death..not a major news flash.
One does not expect that a living, breathing baby will be murdered inside of their mothers womb simply because that mother might find her pregnancy 'unwanted'. And quite simply NO justification can ever be made for such an action. EVER. PERIOD.
War means killing before you are killed...again, not a fancy concept. And in doing so we, and I mean American troops are, were, and will be smoking terrorists. Not innocents. Will some innocents die ? Yes...but is that OUR fault ? I say no.
People who disagree with this war don't disagree because they see an American getting shot in the head...and quite frankly, that shit should NEVER be allowed on any American website EVER. Fuck any free speech argument that others might make...it's just plain WRONG. No parent, child, wife, or girlfriend should ever have to worry about thier loved ones death, while they fought for thier country should be on-line for any anti-American piece of shit to
celebrate. Is that fair ? You fucking bet it is. We're Americans for fuck sake.
The two wars that we are enaged in ARE moral and they ARE justified...opinion only. We are ridding the world of scumfucks who behead civilians...oh, and they fly planes into buildings that civilains worked in as well.
Abortion murders an innocent pre-born child for no reason other than the mother who doesn't consider that child worth her time.
For me..there is no argument. They are two very sperate issues.
Mr. Hancock, I felt so strongly about that banned video I removed one of my own to feature yours on my front page. Truly having graphic images however a story that "must" be not just told but shown with those images.
I find it abhorring that they would remove such an important message that illustrates how repugnant aborting a precious life yet be liberal enough to throw a live new born baby in a trash dumpster as if it were waste.
This was a terrible injustice by the management here at YT.
Some people just can't handle the truth. Your video should NEVER have been taken down. The only reason Youtube took it down, is because people flagged it!
That is my point. It was definitely graphic...but so is the "Meet Your Meat" video that is so prominently displayed on YouTube. Maybe an Alec Baldwin narration would have kept my video online.
Abortion is terrible. I can understand why images of same could disturb people, as well as why proponents of it would rather that people never see them.
Because most people never see what abortion brings about, many are able to categorize it as acceptable. Out of sight, out of mind......???
thank you for trying, they did the same thing to me!

How could we have elected a murderer to occupy the highest position in the land?

God bless all!

There are gruesome videos of autopsies and animal farming/slaughtering on YouTube...but mine had to come down...it is BS!!!

These people are too rapped up in themselves JH. It makes one wonder how can they stand looking themselves in the mirror.
Animals getting more attention, compassion & treatment than a human living life. An innocent one at that.

sure the vid is graphic but its necessary for people to see whats really happening

Out of sight, out of mind...exactly.
The sad thing is that many mothers regret their choice eventually.
Also, there is a potential link between abortion and breast cancer that many people are not aware of...

I'm pretty sure the link between breast cancer and abortion is more than potential. I think it's been proven, but don't quote me on that.

Liberals like to kill, freedom, babies whatever, they just face the sight and consequences of it.
