I've searched but can't find any footage of Freddie doing Ellis Island. His version blows Mary Black's out of the water. Used to be able to hear a pin drop when he'd sing it at the Baggot on Sunday nights back in the day. If anyone knows where I can view it, I'd be very grateful.
What a musician. I tried to get his Live on Tour album in the late 90s and it was unavailable!! Thankfully it is now part of a twin called Lost and Found. If, like me, you saw him in the 80s, the Live on Tour album with the Randy Newman and Guy Clarke (and Frank Zappa!!) covers will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand - one man and his guitar - wow!
At long last some Freddie (Maestro) White. The guy is a genius on the guitar. He has introduced me to so many great artists through his covers but has also proven to be a great songwriter himself.

I have happy memories of first seeing Freddie in An Beal Bocht - sadly, a venue that is no more - many years ago. Love his stuff.

Great to hear that Freddie sounds just as good as when I saw him in my youth. I really loved going to his gigs in Dublin.
