  • this is they guy responsible for where GM is today

  • If you mean he's responsible for the products which will help GM shake off the stigma of the past, you are correct. If you mean anything else, you don't know what the heck you are talking about.

Don't forget it takes 3+ years to develop a new car platform, so he has really only been present for two design cycles in the most optimistic sense.

  • The EV1 was ALREADY developed!! No time needed. GM already had a serial hybrid like the VOLT in 1969, and demonstrated one based on the EV1 in 1998-99.

  • No one would have known, GM would have killed the story, as they crushed the EV and suppressed use of NiMH, except for Toyota selling the RAV4-EV.

  • Lutz is lying about the Chevy Volt, or else doesn't know about how GM crushed the EV1, which had over 100 miles range on lead or Nickel Metal Hydride.

These bloggers don't ask the tough questions.

  • If you will remember from the movie, Honda crushed all of their cars as well, but nobody seems to remember that fact.... Toyota crushed the vast majority of the RAV4 EVs as well.

I'm not saying that crushing the cars was the right thing to do. I think the car was a victim of top management who wanted to allocate resources for max profit in the short term, and at the time there was a real opportunity to expand large SUV sales given low fuel prices.

  • Toyota sold some of their EVs, and therefore could not crush them, yes.

    Leased vehicles were destroyed.

    What's with you man?

Don't forget the Japanese love to eat whale meat and live in a racially pure society!!!!!

But it is us (Americans) who are the bad guys.....

  • It's GM which is the bad company, and Lutz who is the bad guy. Toyota's sale of an Electric car to the public changed history: if not for that, there would not have been a vigil, would not have been the movie "who killed the electric car".

  • Lol very lucky to meet him.
