  • that little girl with the big fro hair is very good! i dont konw why i have never heard of her?! i was an elite gymnast in 1998-1999, i have heard of almost every olympic gymnast from 1970- now, and i have never heard of her until today. she is just amazing! her skill are very difficult and her form is flawless! she is probably one of the best gymnasts i have ever seen! why havent i heard of her!??

  • @justin1gibson Daniela Silivas is one of the best gymnasts of all time imo. She won 3 gold , 2 silver and 1 bronze medals and scored 7 perfect tens in the 1988 olympics. She is one of those gymnasts that deserved a big all around title but never won an olympic or worlds all around title. She retired because of an injury in 1991 i think. You really should look her up on youtube, if you haven't already.

  • how come there were only 5 girls on the podium for the URS team?

  • Olga Strageva got injured on beam and was carried away.

  • I just realised Shushonova and Shannon Miller (1996) had the same music. Took me a good few years to work that out!

  • Daniela was the big star at these Olympics with 6 medals, half of them gold.

  • This event is very beautiful. Gymnastics is more than a sport, it is an art than can move people and touch their hearts.

The Romanian Daniela Silivas, the Soviet Yelena Shushunova. The heroins of gymnastics.

    Shushunova versus Silivas.

Silivas received a perfect note for symmetry.

Shushunova also perfect. Performances on vault would determine the games.

Shushunova the medal gold, Silivas the medal silver.

Grace and femininity were present during these events.

    I think...

    The French is old.

  • why do you say that the French is old?

  • Like most European languages, French is divided into formal and non-formal. Formal French is gradually working its way out of the everyday spoken language system of France and is much less practiced. This video has a lot of old and formalized French that isn't spoken much anymore. It would be like someone who speaks English saying thee, thy and so on.

  • French is my mother and everyday language, and I do not agree with you. The French spoken in this documentary is a European French and maybe you are mixing it with American French which is very different.

But the French spoken in this doc is really contemporary French used in France. I did not hear any word that is not used today.

  • Really? It must just be where you're located. I hear words in this that no one around me uses. I've had much experience with French from France and French from Canada.

  • Do you have an example?

  • i spotted Lou Yun (china) on the vault

  • Thanks.

  • Silivas' music floor routine sounds like an old Madonna's son remix... So weir 80's !

  • Ah yes, 1988. The "bad hair" Olympics! (;

  • perms galore lol

  • Not to be rude but Silivas kind of reminded me of an elf with that perm

  • daniela was robbed here, imo she was better than shoushounova

  • Yes long time ago. It is amazing to see those gymnasts. I saw two Hungarian gymnasts one is Eszter Ovary she was on 3 olympic games and 6 world championships, and other one with stripes red leotard with green and white stripes she is Beata Storczer on bar

  • Köszi.

  • teresa spivey or hope spivey...us gymnast..the hungarian leotard was white, pink and lavanda...all around the leotard was almost the same for the usa.

  • Sorry everyone, I am going to insist that gymnast on bars is Ladanyi from Hungary who wore the green red and white leotard in the all around, the sleeves are different on the leo and it doesnt say US, so I am almost positive it isnt Hope Spivey!

  • You can see the Hungarian leo on Óváry (second VT). Our team wore white leo with red neck line.

  • doesnt it look like there is green around the neck line or is it distortion from the tape, I know the US leo is red but this looked green to me on the neck line, which is why i thought it was hungarian

  • The first woman vaulting in the red leotard is Hope Spivey from the USA. I think she's also the first one shown on uneven bars.

  • It was a nice vault!

  • Nope, its not the US leotard, Im pretty sure its ladanyi or storzcer from Hungary

  • It's the US leotard from the 88 Olympics.

  • Manipulators, to this Olympic Games Seoul 1984 had to dedicate but time to him and not to the one of 1984 where the medals already tenian owner before they competed

  • what the hell did you say? I cant understand a damn thing of what you wrote.

  • Please get a translating program or sign up for an ESL class. You foreigners make no sense in English, yet want to come to the US to work, go figure. AND Then, you have the audacity to post unintelligibly on our YOU TUBE!
