Yes, he's just lost, for 146 years and in contrast to Stefan he had no one to help him (OMG the way he says "I really do need help"!).

And in the end, he lays drunk on the road, compels random girl to tell about he's life, what he feels because he DOES feel.

But even when he's rolling in the deep still he's the same Damon with sarcazm in every line ("puppy"?xD). And this music. After so much time I can't get over it.

This is my favorite TVD scene ever. The writers really flesh out Damon's character in this scene, all of his inner turmoil and complexities. He's interesting and conflicted internally enough to be Shakespearean character.

I am not a fan of Vampire Diaries but the only reason I watch this show is because of the character Damon. Writers should keep his characters the way it is or else they will loose viewers. Not only 16 years old kid (everybody hates them) twilight fans watch VD but many grown up old school vampire lovers like myself because of the old school baddass character: Damon. He has little Lestat and Spike in him.

I read all the books and I think that they do have to chande Damon but quite, to love Elena - yeah, to care about her - yeah, to have existencial troubles - yeah. Because the badass is always in the high schools and he isn't anymore. I like him to put himself in big troubles and I think that they rather change Elena because SHE is growing up and a little bit of wick wouldn't mind on her!

This is one of my favorite scenes ever! Ian really delivers & it's heart wrenching him admitting how much he misses being human. Kudos for his hard work because he delivers a serious emotional punch~

I'm watching an interview with Ian and he said filming this scene was really brutal and not the best experience.

To do a scene like this with so much emotion actors have to connect with it some how to make it seem real so this was probably a challenging scene for Ian

@xlozzylove95x Obviously for a mediocre scene like Ian Somerhalder. Sure...his line delivery is great...but his facial expressions are quite gimmicky and this is the only show he is good in. Most talented actors don't have any trouble with acting in a scene like this.
