  • Hey Jack, nice guitar work.....enjoyed listening to you play this great tune!

  • a , special feeling to it,

  • Terrific take on this tune! Great blend of vocals and guitar...keep up the good work---

  • That was really great & thanks for the info I never knew what this song was about.

  • You're too kind!, but let me assure you, no one can replace John Lennon. First of all, he didn't play, sing, or write Blackbird, Paul McCartney did. Secondly, I will never be as prolific a poet as John was. But, thank you for the blessing! God's blessings on you as well!

  • I never thought of the meaning of Blackbird until you posted that "Bird" is slang for women, now it gives it a whole new meaning. Great job by the way.

  • silly thing to say

  • @swhoyd23 He is indeed very good.. But no one can ever replace John Lennon Mr.Marti here has totally agreed... But I do have to say, he is pretty darn great :) Thank you for sharing all your wonderful songs with us

  • Pretty Good.

  • Great playing. Sure sounds like it was worth the time you put into learning it. I hope Paul gets a chance to see your rendition :) I actually never knew what the song was about till I read your description here. Good analogy about the oppressed sinner.

    All the best,

    Annette

  • lovely playing well done!

  • This was Awesome

    Loved it....

  • huh, more weirdness with youtube. was writing a tune today loosely based on 'mount up with wings as eagles, run and not be weary, walk and not faint' mostly the eagles and wings part. mysterious ways I guess. very nice job, I love hearing people play this song.

  • Very well played, and an interesting interpretation of the lyrics.

  • Enjoyed that. One of my favorite pieces. I'm not a guitar player but I can relate to "getting it"....Like the person below wanting to finish up Rhapsody in Blue,,,by the way and very dear favorite to me too. I choreographed a ballet production to that just for my mother..One of her favorites. Anyway, I'm still working on Malaguena,,,getting it just right on my mbira...ALMOST done too :0)

    Thanks Jack

Always a pleasure to hear your work.

    Patti

  • Wow! I really liked your "rough" version of Malaguena! I can hardly wait to hear the finished product! It's like waiting for Christmas when I was a kid! LOL! {:o)

  • Beautiful:)

    :)

    Hilde

  • What I would do to have your talent!!!

    I love listening to ya!

    *kisses*

    Therese

  • You're too kind! Blessings on you!

  • YEah, Jack, every guitar player has to take his crack at this one. One of my favorites of all time! And you pulled it off VERY well. You pickin' and singin' skills are downright considerable!

  • Thanks Jeff! As I was telling Rob, I'm really not all that talented, just determined. If I really want to do something, I just keep chipping away at it until it resembles what I'm after! In this case it took about three and a half decades!

  • Three and a half decades, huh? That's practically SIGHT-READING. I've been working on "Rhapsody in Blue" since 1970, and I am happy to say, I am ALMOST finished... with the first page! Talk to you later, my friend.

  • LOL! You're as stubborn as I am!

  • Really just a super cover of a true classic : ) I wish I could play it that well

    Rocket

  • I know how you feel! I've been practicing for months! I'm not a great or even especially talented guitar player, just determined. Funny thing is, I'm told Paul was inspired to write this by Bach's Bouree from the lute suite in E minor. I mastered that about twenty-five years ago, but had to totally re-learn it (at least the second part) in the last couple of months because I stopped playing it for a while. YT has helped me quite a bit to improve my guitar playing, because of making live videos.

  • I do appreciate your Music Jack and all the work that you put into it

  • Sweet. Nicely done my friend. Thanks for sharing.

  • beautiful job covering this classic, and I have heard the same history on it- I do an intrumental sampling, but you got it going on there brother!- thanks for sharing-

  • I LOVE this song!!! beautiful cover Jack, really nice!!!!! like your description too :)

  • I think you did a good job.

  • very good stuff man!
