An actual STARGATE/PORTAL-THING was caught on film in New Mexico. The footage can be found within the short-film entitled "SUDDEN PORTHOLE", which is parked at the PROJECT CAMELOT YouTube page (it's under the George Noory video).
I'm not selling anything…I'm just trying to spread the word about the unseen-dimensions we find ourselves embedded in.

Werner Herzog definitely knows a lot about media and the way it effects us, his comedy is funny, but is over my head, and for some reason it seams like he has no emotions while speaking -Hunter W.- -6th period-
Hey Ms. L it's Nick F. from 6th Period. It was difficult to pay attention to what he was saying due to my concentration on him eating a shoe as if was a daily meal but anyway he sounded like he really knew what he was talking about and i agree with him based on his opinions about media changing the way people view things and how images can give us a false sense of what we live in.
First off, I dont like his mustache. >.> But most importantly, I agree on his perspective of the media as a plague that destroys communities. He says that in the long-term the media can arouse revotlutions and change, but it usually makes directors look like clowns for giving illusionist work. I thnk he's right. Due to false images presented by these directors, we're unable to see the truth about the world around us. His goals are to reflect accurate images, its about someone did. ~ Nathaly ^-^
Ms. L it's Joanna from 8th period I think it was interesting how he ate it in front of an audience and he ate it in a calm way, the way he would eat regular food
hey ms. L its Noribeth from 6th period .... i love his sence of humor and the way he thinks ... one thing he says that i like alot is when he says that if u want to make a movie steal money or a cammera. do whatever it takes basicly to do what u love.
Mrs.L this is Silvia from your 7th prd ; I still find it shocking to see him eat his shoe ?! Haha it's weird and unusual but he is one interesting man that keeps his word . Haha
How dare he force his morality on us. He's obviously a fanatical reactionary Crusader declaring Holy War on the progress we've made in television. Off to the Gulag!
I believe, individuals such as Herzog sow the seeds of cultural, individual, and social revolutions that begin intellectual movements. We can ill afford to fall deaf to to wisdom such as this.

Werner Herzog did steal a 35 mm camera from a college in Germany. I don't even think he was a student there. He contended that he had a "natural right" to take the camera. He used it to make Aguirre.
I think it's more funny for Herzog to be monotone and pretending to be serious all the time. It's more cynical. Otherwise it would be more like a cheap act.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
But what's unfortunate is that he actually this shoe-eating business seriously and is entirely oblivious to audience laughter. He doesn't appear to know how to have fun, and whines about the media turning him into a clown when he's actually put himself in this position. Herzog himself has admitted that he doesn't understand irony and it has handicapped him throughout life, along with his monotone speech and obsessiveness, he may indeed suffer from Asperger's.
Do you know the background to this story? It was a fundraiser for a friend's film. And are you so sure he is "oblivious"? Or could he just have a dry delivery? In fact, I've seen/heard him joke and laugh in several interviews.
And come on, do you know him well enough (is he a colleague, a personal friend?) to speculate whether he has Asperger's?
And even if he did, so what? Would that de-legitimize the points made in this short?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
The background to the story is irrelevant to the point I was making. As I mentioned before, Herzog freely admits that he doesn't understand the concept of irony and has very little sense of humor. I've seen most of his films, and his personality is such a main component of most that it's fairly easy to draw certain conclusions about the man. The points he makes in this short are fairly silly and even Herzog has outgrown the infantile, angry-young-man stage he was going through at this time.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Pt 2: Herzog now claims that TV shows and tabloid jounralism are healthy forms of vulgarity. As for his comments re: the media turning people into clowns, it wouldn't be illegitimate if Herzog wasn't a complete hypocrite on this issue. He whines about his environment being cruel and harsh, but the man brings it on himself by throwing his cast and crew into the most obscene situations where of course he is going to find trouble. This stunt is a prime example. It's no one's fault but his.
I would imagine just about everyone watching this video has seen most or all of Herzog's films so I'm afraid that doesn't give you any special authority (for example, I've been a professional film reviewer and in fact wrote a biographical essay on Herzog for the publication I worked for).
The monotone you've referred to could be a result of speaking in a second language that perhaps he was not completely fluent in.
I'm a great follower of Herzog (right now I'm writing a paper on his treatment of morality), but I find it strange how he denounces talkshows, but appeared on Conan O'Brien recently.
Word. I agree on that. a hypocrite he is. But then again I really like Herzog. Hes a likeable guy (have u seen when he gets shot) and he's completely cool with that? lol. He talks too much about politics but then again Germans are very intellectual ppl.
I've been a fan of Herzog sense seeing Aguirre, Wrath of God in film school. It blew me away. Ya it's great to see him getting more attention as a great artist in his later yrs, but he doesn't need or want the pop cultural media's love and affection. McCain a maverick? I think not. Werner? it's pretty awesome how many people have learned about herzog from conan. when i saw the show, i got the impression that everyone was completely alienated by him...
I was glad to see Wener Herzog on Conan because, as I see from the comments, it made at least a little more people aware of him. I first learned of Herzog when I was in 8th grade (that was not too long ago i might add, no joke) when I first saw My Best Fiend. However anytime I tried to introduce him to one of my friends or just someone I knew they either thought I was crazy, boring, or just didn't listen to me.
I'm glad Conan was able to do it but then again Conan is awesome. :)
yep the guy knows.....pictures speak more than words....and when those words are from the divine source illusions are shattered....sometimes dramatically....but sometimes they just dissolve in that knowing.
Ok, in the crowd shot at 1:48, the guy kneeling on the floor in the lower left with the beard looks ALOT like a young Martin Scorsese; this was shot at UC Berkeley in 1980, which is when Scorsese would have been working on Raging Bull. Some of the filming was done in San Pedro, CA, so it's not impossible...
the bearded kneeler actually is a writer named David Breskin. there is a book of his interviews with film-makers called Innerviews, which you might be able to get on Amazon.
I didn't want to post the whole short, as that would completely be trampling on LB's rights. I wanted people to be able to see Herzog's really wonderful monologues in the pic. I urge you, as someone noted above, to get the whole movie from LB's site.
all in all its a 20-minutes documentary. Its on the german-dvd-version of "Herz aus Glas".On this DVD you'll find also the documentary "Gasherbrum-Der leuchtende Berg" bout Messner and Kammerlander (44 min).I'll see what I can do...
What? It's not on my "Herz Aus Glas" DVD. As far as I know you can only find it on the "Burden Of Dreams" DVD. Or you can buy it individually from Les Blank's webpage

yep the guy knows.....pictures speak more than words....and when those words are from the divine source illusions are shattered....sometimes dramatically....but sometimes they just dissolve in that knowing.

Ok, in the crowd shot at 1:48, the guy kneeling on the floor in the lower left with the beard looks ALOT like a young Martin Scorsese; this was shot at UC Berkeley in 1980, which is when Scorsese would have been working on Raging Bull. Some of the filming was done in San Pedro, CA, so it's not impossible...

san pedro is in southern california

the bearded kneeler actually is a writer named David Breskin. there is a book of his interviews with film-makers called Innerviews, which you might be able to get on Amazon.

please, post Herzog's SPIEL IM SAND (alias GAME IN THE SAND alias GIOCO SULLA SABBIA)!

Werner is so correct about talk shows. He said this back in 1980, and it's prophetic.

if here were some regular guy preaching the same things, no one would give a shit. U have to be famous to get taken seriously? hehe

Amazing. He's so eloquent and so true...

I didn't want to post the whole short, as that would completely be trampling on LB's rights. I wanted people to be able to see Herzog's really wonderful monologues in the pic. I urge you, as someone noted above, to get the whole movie from LB's site.

Can you post the whole thing?

all in all its a 20-minutes documentary. Its on the german-dvd-version of "Herz aus Glas".On this DVD you'll find also the documentary "Gasherbrum-Der leuchtende Berg" bout Messner and Kammerlander (44 min).I'll see what I can do...
boerni1976 4 years ago
You'll find it on the DVD "Herz aus Glas".
boerni1976 4 years ago
What? It's not on my "Herz Aus Glas" DVD. As far as I know you can only find it on the "Burden Of Dreams" DVD. Or you can buy it individually from Les Blank's webpage
guestinformant9 4 years ago
It's on Burden of Dreams, not Heart of Glass (aka Herz aus Glas)....

I'm sorry, but again, it's on "Heart of Glass" (German DVD-Version)!!
