For me it is Sept 11, 2001, for others the assissination of President John F Kennedy and other countries have their own major events that were the story of their life times.

Non stop coverage of a cleberity's death is common today due to 24/7 news and not enough news to report.

I mean look at how much more siignificant Michael was than Anna Nicole Smith but you couldn't tell based on the coverage.

Neither will have the shock aspect due to their age by that time but their impact was significant. If Ringo Starr dies before McCartney then Paul's death will carry even more weight if he dies as the last remaining Beatle. If Paul died before Ringo it will still be huge but then Ringo's passing will be more significant than it would have been if he is the last remaining Beatle.
