I have and had many favorite rock bands ... but now I have to say that affirmatively Renaissance is my all time favorite. I never stopped playing their music since the 70's. My son grew up knowing of this band and their music. When he was a teen he was as awestruck by them as I was. This coming September we will see them in concert along with his wife, who had never heard of them. She doesn't know what a treat this will be.
This music is timeless as even my 17 year old daughter who is a metal drummer loves this band and Annie's voice. Her dream is to meet Annie and see the band play live. She still picks my brain about the 4 times I saw them live back in the day! She was especially jealous when she found out her hero Gavin Harrison drummed for them in 83' and I saw them live. Actually talked to Gavin couple of years ago about that.
@geoffolehane Yes. As a soloist, I was a rather good choral singer, but if I could have had any voice in the world - including many of the opera singers I've heard, live and recorded, I wanted hers.
I have been looking for this album for years! It was part of my collection of 12" LPs - along with Black sabbath and my Zepplin collection. This music is FIRST class along with my fave band, The Moody Blues. I saw Renaissance on the Mike Douglous Show way back in the mid 70s. They performed LIVE on stage. I fell in love with Annie. Her voice. Her eyes. Her 'groovey" long hair ... I do have one of their albums called NOVELLA can you please post it? Your fan - Christian D. Liedtke.
What a pivotal band Renaissance was and is. It seems to have been a true labor of love for it's members. I think centuries from now their songs like "Sounds of the Sea " will continue to enchant and refresh listeners.

Of the three versions I find here I think yours has the best frequency response. Thanks. This Song is hard to find on CD and can be very expensive.
