An M3 is a balanced car. If it has the acceleration, it has world-class handling, brakes, suspension, and steering feel. THere is really no other sedan that can keep up with it.
Audi always had problems with cornering because the engine is very far in the front making it nose heavy. The quattro system is helpless in that situation. That is why when it comes to cornering the M3 wins.
Meh, even if it didn't it doesn't matter. Check the price difference of the M3 and RS5. The RS4 itself is already over 10 grand more expensive.
I have special ordered a 2010 M3 and it should be in my driveway sometime in November. I really don't think they did anything different from the 08 to the 09 to the 2010. Not 1 horsepower more or even different wheels. The colors are the same too. I hope I like this car. Never even test driven one. manual cars are always better at certain tests e.g. braking cz with an automatic you apply just the brake to slow down the car and eventually stop it. whereas in a manual, you apply the clutch just as the car begins to stop, which creates more friction than the brake in an automatic alone.

There's different techniques, you can preposition the hands, stick to 9 and 3 (mostly used on race cars where the steering is tight enough that most corners wouldn't take more than half a turn of the wheel), and shuffle steer.

any model in BMWs line that ends in "x35" is a twin turbo....i.e. 135i, 335i, 535i.

BMW is leanning more towards turbo charged engines now. The current M3 is N/A but the model that will be replacing the current model will have a inline 6 turbocharged engine not a V8.
WRONG again....look in 2006 BMW built a new engine to power it's line of vehicles, The new N series engine. It comes in both turbocharged and N/A variants. The N54's variants produce 255 -265 HP (N/A N52 )and 300 HP N54 Turbocharged. The Turbo version of the N54B30 used twin turbochargers, which are small, but that keeps engine response to a level much like it's naturally aspirated counterparts. it's predecessor was the M54.....Oh and the new 740 WILL have a turbo v8 as well as the X-5 and 6 M's

Although BMW has nearly perfected the turbo engines to a point where it is hard to guage turbo lag, I still prefer the naturally aspirated engines. Engine response from a high output N/A engine is so precise. On the track, the driver and the car become "One" if you know what I mean. This can happen with a turbocharged car, but it will take some fine tuning and careful pedalwork.
BMW ruled F1 in the early 80s with their turbos. Though they have been pro NA for many years after that, they are now resorting back to turbo technology. They announced this already. No more high revving NA for their next M.

Buy a 335i, an m3 kit if wanted (revozport), then add a jb3 pnp, a code 3 intercooler, riss downpipes and catback and dual injen intake- filters. It will be an m3 killer. Although i also like m3's. But 2 turbos with a straight six is sex!

You might as well have a turbo diesel instead of a turbo petrol - just as fast with twice the mpg. And it won't sound any worse because turbo engines sound shit.
A turbo is a nothing sound, a hiss. A big turbo might sound impressive, but it's hardly pleasant, and the noise coming out the exhaust might as well be me shitting. Aftermarket kits are different, because they don't have to adhere to any sound criteria.
BMW are only using a turbo engine because the next m3 will no doubt be 1700kgs +, and they'll be needing the extra torque. It's a lazy solution.
BMW should leave the turbos to the diesels, and make proper petrol engines.
I'm sure it's a fantastic engine, from what I read it's brilliant.
But if you're going to go turbo, they have to go big power - 550bhp+ - or it's going to be pointless. Sports cars aren't just about performance, they're about sensations; noise, revs, lightness.
People still buy porsche caymans when they could have a GTR for the same price, why is this? Because outright speed is an irrelevance.

no just thing as a x35??? and X5 does not have a 3.5i engine, atleast in the U.S. Theres only a 3.0i, and a 4.8i..and the X3 is 2.5i and 3.0i.
the X3 that has a 3.5litre engine, is a DIESEL and only available outside U.S.
as i said before...
any BMW that has 35 as the last two numbers....its a turbo engine IN THE UNITED STATES. whether it be Twin Turbo, or Diesel.

any model in BMWs line that ends in "x35" is a twin turbo....i.e. 135i, 335i, 535i.

BMW is leanning more towards turbo charged engines now. The current M3 is N/A but the model that will be replacing the current model will have a inline 6 turbocharged engine not a V8.

WRONG again....look in 2006 BMW built a new engine to power it's line of vehicles, The new N series engine. It comes in both turbocharged and N/A variants. The N54's variants produce 255 -265 HP (N/A N52 )and 300 HP N54 Turbocharged. The Turbo version of the N54B30 used twin turbochargers, which are small, but that keeps engine response to a level much like it's naturally aspirated counterparts. it's predecessor was the M54.....Oh and the new 740 WILL have a turbo v8 as well as the X-5 and 6 M's

LOL idiot... the 135i and the 335i have a twin turbo charged inline6. The M division cars are not just about pure grunt and speed in a straight line. The M3 is a track car, you take a 335i and a m3. Drag them, probably wont be more than half a car length in it. Take them around the track, M3 will take seconds off the 335i. Fuck people like you shouldnt be allowed to comment.

It's by no means slow, maybe compared to other V8s it is. But yeah its mainly a track car, so much detail and engineering have gone into the chassis ect. Fucking amazing car, i drool every time i see one haha

Although BMW has nearly perfected the turbo engines to a point where it is hard to guage turbo lag, I still prefer the naturally aspirated engines. Engine response from a high output N/A engine is so precise. On the track, the driver and the car become "One" if you know what I mean. This can happen with a turbocharged car, but it will take some fine tuning and careful pedalwork.

BMW ruled F1 in the early 80s with their turbos. Though they have been pro NA for many years after that, they are now resorting back to turbo technology. They announced this already. No more high revving NA for their next M.

Buy a 335i, an m3 kit if wanted (revozport), then add a jb3 pnp, a code 3 intercooler, riss downpipes and catback and dual injen intake- filters. It will be an m3 killer. Although i also like m3's. But 2 turbos with a straight six is sex!

my friends is 350 has possibly the biggest turbo out there, i think it delivers almost 40 psi, it sounds AMAZING!

A turbo is a nothing sound, a hiss. A big turbo might sound impressive, but it's hardly pleasant, and the noise coming out the exhaust might as well be me shitting. Aftermarket kits are different, because they don't have to adhere to any sound criteria.
BMW are only using a turbo engine because the next m3 will no doubt be 1700kgs +, and they'll be needing the extra torque. It's a lazy solution.
BMW should leave the turbos to the diesels, and make proper petrol engines.

I'm sure it's a fantastic engine, from what I read it's brilliant.
But if you're going to go turbo, they have to go big power - 550bhp+ - or it's going to be pointless. Sports cars aren't just about performance, they're about sensations; noise, revs, lightness.
People still buy porsche caymans when they could have a GTR for the same price, why is this? Because outright speed is an irrelevance.
