Not to take merit of this cover band, they are amazing, but they do play it below the original tone, thus making it easier to sing.

The guy singing can reach high notes but using falsetto/head voice (can't really tell) making it sound like those metal singers, and Plant's voice does not sound like that, it sounds more natural (but then, that natural girly voice is what makes his singing unique).

Plant used everything, falsetto/head voice, chest voice. different times different measures.

The song is in the same key, and the immitation of plants voice is as good as a human being who is not robert plant around 1970 can possibly do. even he to some extent couldn't sound like that later on.

In any case the praise is of the imitation of the studio version (vocal wise).

They are tuned down a half step on this tune vs the studio version of the real one. Not a huge difference. Good observation. The true test of any fake Robert out there is of course the screeching intro to the immigrant song. The real Robert cant do it anymore but he still rocks. The real modern Page is actually better now than in his prime, when inspired, IMO.

His younger performances kinda sucked sometimes, losing the beat, rushing the tempo,etc. Stress of the road.

Damn! The fake Robert nails the vocals to that tune while the real Roberts vocals at the big gig at madison square garden in the 70s were lackluster and wimpy. His vocals on the studio version were much better. Fake Pagey does alright but dosent do the neat little rhythm fills that the real Page does so well during the main riff of the number. However,the fake Page really treats other LZ tunes much better. The fake Bonzo kinda screwed up the intro drum riff unlike the real Bonzo

Just the overall sound, feel, chemistry, the groove, the ownership of the song,(how they take it and make it magic) ..how Zep translate it. Just something you feel or don't feel. When I here the countless bootlegs of Zep doing this song I get goosebumps everytime. This is a very good effort but like I said, you can't do Zep like Zep, no matter how good it may sound. Zep had the power to make their songs a gift to the listener. This, and no offense to this group, is a song played by a cover band

That is very true but that goes for every band, and they aren't trying to accomplish that anyways. This band, along with every other cover band, is paying tribute to the band they are covering. It's impossible if you think about it, that anyone could be exactly like the person they are copying/covering. Like every artist (even these performers) there is a unique style. You can imitate Jimmy Page but you can only go so far.
