  • I don't know but I just feel that this wonderful comedian draws a lot of his inspiration from the legendry Frank Randall.

  • Everyone needs to see this act live, absolutely amazing. His comic timing is brilliant

  • Sorry everybody. I heard the Count on Radio 4 and almost crashed my car laughing Clearly not everybody feels the same. Unlucky!! You have Ricky gervais I'll keep this guy

  • Wouldn't happen to be "Barry from Watford" as well by any chance?

  • Nothing to get here apart from this is just not up to the mark and should be buried with Tutankhamun which should at least be appropriate. Just fell across this via Answerbank.

I would have more fun drilling my own kneecaps.

  • @G7ennx I have to agree with you, I had more fun watching a funeral. Radio 4 comedy is usually very good, but this just isn't!

  • NOT a patch on the man he is impersonating ...

The late , great , Frank Randall ....

Warning ! .. you may find Frank "subversive" which is why you don't see much of him replayed anymore ...

This Count A Strong stuff is just garbage flying on the coat tails of a great music hall entertainer....

  • This was clearly a failed experiment. The pointless second camera, the hollow acoustics. Not a good example of the genius that is the Count

  • Not his best stuff. His malappropisms are the funniest.

  • He's better on radio...

  • This is not one of Count Arthur's finest moments, he is much better in front of a live audience. I have seen him on stage in Brighton where he kept the crowd in stitches for over an hour. Maybe an acquired taste, so listen out for the new series on radio 4 in the coming weeks.

  • rasherjohn - this guy is nothing like Harry Worth. He's constantly angry railing against the world. Harry Worth was a genial old duffer. I like it, you don't. Neither of us is wrong. But one of us is a little more mean spirited. (That's you).

  • looks like you will be putting your cat on the stage dick head

  • I've benn listenting to radio comedy for 5 decades and this guy is the funniest. I nearly crashed the car laughing the first time I heard him.

  • And then I use to think!

  • for some reason when he says remembers it makes me laugh hysterically...

  • Perfection!

  • yay! i got tickets for his show! can't wait - his mis-pronounciation and mis-use of the english language is brill! pure genius!!!

  • This man needs his own TV show ASAP.

  • NO! That is exactly what he doesn't need, It is far far funnier as spoken word. Let your mind do the work, not your eyes.

  • I know at least two people, one being me, who have very nearly crashed their cars listening to his radio show. It's a work of art, matching anything that's gone before. Thank god that every now and then this type of talant comes through.

  • my dad produces the show.

  • I believe you. His name is John.

I was at broadcasting house in white city today, I work for RedBee media at channel4 tv and we are moveing there. spooky.

Tell your Dad the show is brilliant.

  • lol thankyou! i enjoy it as well!

  • tell your dad i love him!!! takes a genius to find a genius!

  • I would not be surprised if people didn't die laughing listening to him.

  • I have seen him three times at the theatre, very funny act.

  • I don't think this works visually, the beauty of radio is what happens in the listener's imagination. The count is stronger when just heard. A bit like Viv Stanshall's Rawlinson's End, it made a rotten film but a brilliant audio piece.

  • Totally agree, just saw him in edinburgh, and was very dissapoined, but he's comedy genius on the radio.

  • Slapstick apart, and I like slapstick, any good comedy should work even when you have your eyes shut -ie hancock or father ted etc. It's a good simple test of quality one which too few tv producers seem to use!

  • Saw Arthur in London recently. Began laughing before he came on stage and continued laughing throughout the show. My lady friend thought I was having a fit. The guys magic - the funniest character I've ever heard. Count Arthur we love you.

  • under rated genius.

    "remember your army training"

  • The bard on Avon! Count, youre amazing.

  • Just saw Arthurs live show in Newcastle. Truly brilliant comedy. A British classic in the making...no doubt about!!

  • This is up there in a long tradition of humour including Diary of a Nobody, Hancock and Round the Horne..Thank God someone is keeping humour alive!...Brilliant!.....this should carry a Health Warning..I always laugh so much.

  • fantastic

  • I love You Count Arthur ! !

    You Make Me L A U G H ! !

  • FANTASTIC....!!!!

  • first heard him with mark radcliffe on radio 2 one evening, hilarious !!

Now i here him on rad 4 6.30pm tuesdays.. brilliant. not doing jokes, just fluffling lines about everyday events in his mad world.. luv it.

  • Just found him by accident on Radio 4... what an absolute treasure!!! A fantastic comedian and very convincing character he is. Laughed till I cried... more, more, more and hope to see him live sometime...

  • He is the funniest man Im have ever seen

  • The latest radio series hits highs that few could dare to reach. True genius. Gets repeated on Radio 4 in November (this time at primetime). And I'm booking tickets to recordings of the new series...
