  • hi,

as one that used nikon, which system is more comfortable?

  • @MrPacMe At this point, I'm fine with either.

  • @dipmvideos

    Anyway?

  • @MrPacMe Hmm?

  • @dipmvideos

    okay, then....

why did you move to Canon?

    thank you ^^

  • @MrPacMe It was really just because.. well... Canon 5D II vs Nikon D80 :P

  • I love my 5Dc. I haven't seen a reason yet to update to the MK2.

  • dude sorry for bothering but i got one last question.

so i probably getting a 5dmk2 with the kit lens 24-105 this end of okt. so what do you think should i spend the money for the mk3 or should i get this bad boy? i own a 550d in the moment which i use for nightclub photography so i dont really need it badly i just want a fullframe!! and what the newest update of the release date of the mk3? =)

  • @AJBuenviaje hey, how can you ask advice about a camera that hasnt been released by Canon yet from a kid who carries out reviews which are purely based on playing with the camera in his bedroom? There will never be "latest news" on the Mkiii... just rumours. You just have to wait!

The 5D Mkii is great for nightclub use, the 24-70 is better for this as the 24-105 is an f4 and is way too slow despite IS.

Also, there are a lot of real genuine 5D Mkii "cons", but none have been mentioned here!!

  • Great video keep up the good work.

  • This is definatly a bad review of this camera. A review should be based purely 100% on the specs and design of the camera, NOT your personal opinion. Dont get me wrong, your opinion is important just not on most of the different areas of the camera. You cannot count the feel of the camera as a CON, as it is just your opinion after moving from a Nikon body. Please take into account in future video's that you make shure you dont make these mistakes again.

  • @TheHezRock if a review was purely based on specs, anyone could do a review without even trying a camera, so i dont think thats true at all. ergonomics does play a big part, and if you've ever felt a canon and a nikon camera, you cannot say the canon feels better, so this is a con. It makes the shooting experience less comfortable. The newer 7D and 60D fix this problem with a better grip. I really dont know how you can say that ergonomics doesn't count.

  • @dipmvideos The ergonomics are extremely important, but not your opinion on them. You should have purely based your verdic on the ergonomics WITHOUT comparing the model to the Nikon. Yes, for a Nikon user, as you said you previously were, the camera may feel uncomfortable, but for Canon users, the camera will feel right. THEREFORE this is not a "CON" it is an opinionated comparison between the Nikon and Canon. Dont get me wrong as I said in my last post, as Opinions are very important...

  • @TheHezRock Why can't it be a con? I thought the ergonomics was not good because i had something to compare it with. if you look at a review on dpreview or something, they always compare it to several models. the product needs to be compared against something else. if not, how would people know what kind of camera to go for? Even sharpness is determined by comparing it to others.I dont even know what you're going on about.

  • @dipmvideos of course ergonomics play a big part in a review, but in MY opinion all the stuff thats reported about Nikons being "better" is just that... someones opinion. IMHO I think Nikons have way too many "dedicated" buttons plastered all over the camera which I think makes it awkward, Canons are very well thought out with rarely more than two button presses for the same settings. It depends if you prefer the "eastern block" design of the Nikon or the smooth ferrari design of the Canon!

  • 60 fps you are kidding rite?

  • @oliverlaulok my b.

  • @oliverlaulok lol thats more than video

  • Do you think its a good idea to buy this camera now? I'll mostly use it for video

  • @starsdawn1 why not get the 7D, 60D or 600D then? the video on those are good, and theyre more feature packed. and a lot cheaper.

  • @dipmvideos well I'm still deciding if the fullframe awesomeness is worth the price

  • @starsdawn1 it would be a step up if you take a lot of photos. might wanna wait though. its been out for more than 3 years now.

  • Do you get used to shooting without a flash on this camera, or you should you get a canon speedlight when you buy this camera?

  • @Pakifier hmm. the only tile i really sure flashes are when i shoot in a studio environment or when i do off camera flash work. i barely use the flash on camera with this camera. that being said, when i had a Nikon D80, i never used the popup flash and opted to buy and external flash for better results!

  • @Pakifier You only need a flash if you dont work with available light. For instance if your shooting in the day outdoors ie landscapes. But if you photograph alot inside were natural light isn't as much available you may want to purchase a speedlight flash unit. It's not a case of "getting used to" it all depends on what type of photography you do.

  • would you still recommend the 5d mkII for someone upgrading from a 450d or is the former showing its age 3 years on?

  • @sirljjf as long as you know what you're getting, and you think that you'll be happy with what you're gonna get regardless of what comes out next, any camera is always a good option. that said, if it were me, i'd wait to see what comes out next, or i'd spend my money on lenses.

  • @dipmvideos do you really find the AF system struggles throughout every day use? the only problem I have with waiting to see what is announced next is that canon generally announce their new bodies at photokina which isn't scheduled until September, 2012. The idea of full-frame is a terrible temptation.

  • @sirljjf it really only struggles in lower light situations. other than that, the problems with AF are very minimal. i know what you mean! i felt the same way before i got my 5D2. if you can wait, i say wait. you never know whats coming, but if youre in no rush, its probably going to be worth the wait!

  • What kind of Tripot that you use with this camera

  • i own this cam too. if someone would ask me if i recommend it, yes.

it is definitely worth its price. the quality of pictures is stunning. if you developed your first raw. its a portrait, landscape allaround cam. if you do sports or are a wannabe paparrazzi go for a 1Ds Mark IV or a Nikon D3s.... forget about 7D is the real replacement model for my 50D because it burst that quick. so... pay a few thousand for a pro dslr, but don´t tell me a crop cam can do a better qual than this 5D Mark II

  • How come u have so many expensive stuffs? Is ur dad a pro?

  • @robertlam18 nope, he isn't. We're both just enthusiasts. He just has a passion for photography, and sees the passion that i have for it too so he supports this hobby. Thanks for watching!

  • @dipmvideos for this price this camera can only be a good deal if your daddy is paying the bill...

  • @Bareeggs the camera can easily pay for itself with a few photoshoots.

  • @dipmvideos so the shop waits for your money until you made some "photoshoots" with it?

i just saw your flickr photots and the ones on your page. i'm sure you dont make money and get payed for your amateur shoots... maybe your daddy is paying them to pay you.

its not a shame to have rich parents, but i hate small children on youtube with that amount of gear talking shit about paying everything on their own... you have a lot of technic stuff, so face the fact, that your daddy is paying alot

  • @Bareeggs you buy the camera if you know you're going to use it. i'm pretty sure thats a given. it would be stupid to buy it without knowing how to pay for it. and no one is telling you to buy the camera. im just letting people know that its a good camera. and so what if my parents helped my pay for it? whats wrong with that? i also never said i paid for all of it. in fact, if you watched more of my videos, i specifically say that my dad and i share a lot of this gear.

  • If my work is mainly into Landscapes photography, upgrading from 5D Mk II, what would you guys recommend? Thanks

  • @MrCJ1988 from a 5D mark 2? the only thing i can think of is a medium format camera.

  • @dipmvideos Hasselblad? :p

  • @MrCJ1988 @MrCJ1988 up to you. why the need for an upgrade? whats is lacking in the 5d that you need?

  • @MrCJ1988 totally no point upgrading unless you are more interested in getting more and more expensive cameras instead of the actual photography! Nothing Canon makes matches the 5D MkII on specs, let alone beat it. Your only move can be one of the 1D but despite their price the 1Ds has a crop sensor and the 1D is just "getting old". Quite simply.... if you need to ask the question in the first place, it is unlikely you have come anywhere near reaching the lmits of the 5DMkII and prob never will!

  • @MrCJ1988 come to think of it, if you really think spending money is the way forward... get a whole bunch of L-series lenses, they'll be far more rewarding than spending it on a camera that is unlikely to give you better results than you already have!!

    Happy clicking!

  • @simonsgl thats almost right. this cam wont be as good as it could if you not use highquality lenses.

  • i love my Mark II

  • @OChristFollower woo! its a great camera! its hard not to love a mark 2!

  • great review. i have the t2i costs 1/3 of the 5d and it has a flash. are u planning on making photography a full time job?

  • @Coccc22 i dont think its going to be a full time job. im in college right now trying to earn a bachelors in fine arts majoring in graphic design.

  • yo! DIP... are you actually in PI.

  • @theiPhone4Videos only for winter. i currently go to school in Savannah GA. :P
