You can also use marinated beef, tuna (can), or fish cake instead of ham if you want. Vegetarians can put various kinds of vegetables only, such as cucumbers, spinach, carrots, or even Kimchi. ^^ Hope this helps!
You can use cucumber instead of the radish. Cut them into a few strips and soak them in water with 1 Tb of salt, sugar and vinegar for a half an hour. Then it will be ready for you.
It looks like you had a lot of fun! It's really important to introduce your children to cooking when they're young, so many people don't know how to cook.
Yes, for the spinach: I parboiled it and mixed it with 1 tsp of sesame oil and 1 tsp of soy sauce with hands. For the carrots, I stir fried it briefly with 1 tsp of olive oil and a dash of salt. The reason why I put a few grains of rice along the top seam of the seaweed was to hold the roll together. You can also use a tiny dab of water instead of rice. Hope this helps to answer your questions. Good luck!
Hello, First of I wanted to say thanks for posting the video's there fun to watch!
I have a few questions about making Kimbap, the first one is, did you cook the spinach and carrots before rolling them into the Kimbap? and the other question is why did you put a few grains of rice on the naked edge of the dried seaweed before you rolled it?? I look forward to your answer and I cannot wait to try this myself!
Yes, it's spam, but you can always replace it to other kinds of ham. You can even find 'Kimbap Ham' which is neatly cut and sliced for making Kimbap already in a Korean market. ^^
Why was egg not used? As far as I know there is egg in kimpap... and the rice~ the rice should not be just plain rice. We also mix it with salt to taste and sesame oil for it to be a little sticky... and why was that have to be called imitation crab sticks?...kkk... and woah!.. she didn't even use the roller to roll the kimpap!...^^ well, she's korean...kkk^^ I love making kimpap!... much more eating it^^kkk
It's just you put one inch of water from the surface of cleaned rice in the rice cooker and push the button to cook. The brand name of my rice cooker is "COOKOO" from Korea. Hope this helps for you.

Yes, it's plain rice that I bought from a local Korean mart. You can add 1 tsp of salt and 1TSP of sesame oil to the cooked rice. Enjoy!
