Wow! I'm slightly embarrassed for you. Bleach kills only 80% of mold and removes none. So not only is 20% of the mold still there but you have giving it a food source. It WILL grow back. You may want to check the EPA's hand book on mold removal especially their comments about painting over mold. In the mean time, you should shut this video down. It lessens your credibility.

Stop bitching about mold abatement! There is mold EVERYWHERE! Industrial hygienists just measure if the mold inside is worse than the mold outside. Chill out. A little mold in your house is more of an aesthetic issue than an medical issue (unless you live in a shithole).

Bleach works fine for the usual purposes. If you have mold growing on your cat, THEN call a specialist.

Bleach may kill mold, but it is most probably one of the least effective. I am IICRC certified, and also a licensed consultant in the field of designated and hazardeous substances. Bleach is NOT a biocide. To properly decontaminate, HEPA vacuum all surfaces, then on non porous or semi porous surfaces, use anti-microbial detergent, scrub, wipe, scrub, wipe, HEPA vacuum. Porous surfaces, just cut them out and replace them as it is a headache trying to clean them. OR .. just call an expert.

OK .. this guy obviously does not know what the hell he is doing ..

1) You do not use bleech to clean mold, use a biocide / Anti-microbial, and if it is a porous surface, remove it (it cannot get cleaned unless you know what you are doing)

2) You do not use Kills, to kill mold, that is a myth !!

3) just call someone and get an opinion, trying to deal with Hazardeous substances on your own is not a goot idea.

The problem with using bleach is it evaporates and after that loses it's effect.

If you want to be more anal, get a specific mold killer at a home center or use a paint that kills and seals after the bleach.

You must control the moisture problem eventually, or it will grow back.

Bleach WILL kill the mold, so will vinegar, tea tree oil, etc.

There are many things that will kill it.

It comes back because of moisture, this isn't rocket science.

Mold is around is all the time. It is a problem when it is concentrated and we breathe it for extended periods. Not all people are affected by it the same either.

Borax or a commercial product called 'Concrobrium Mold Control' will do the trick in not only removing the mold but killing the spore roots and encapsulating, preventing further growth. Check at your local Home Improvement Center.

As a professional mold consultant, I caution anyone watching videos promoting Bleach with mold! Bleach is a 99.2% water - anti bacterial product and mold is a fungus! Visit the Clorox web site or type in "mold & Bleach" and see for yourself. Bleach has no business in the mold removal industry. The EPA, IICRC, etc. all warn agianst it's use with mold. The removal of mold from drywall is the ONLY method allowed and proper cleaning of other pourus materials is possible! Please Educate yourself!

GUYS dont listen to him!!!!!!!! i work for my grandpa and we do mold remediation and removal and bleach does not kill mold it actually just spreads it around.and it will come back even thicker. if you want to get rid of mold you need to call specialists but if it is a small amout you can kill it with a chemical called microban

Im' not going to sit here and explain it, you look on the internet at information less than 3 to 5 or so years old and you will figure it out for yourself. I have been in the mold business for a lot of years and have seen all too many sad situations after bleach was used, the stuff comes back 10 times worse over time.

guys, you have to understand that mold is symptom of dampness(condensation), so it doesn;t matter how many times you kill it, it will always come back, simple as that, you have to fix the cause of it, and the best way to deal with it is ventilation , installing vents on walls or ceilling ,or just leaving windows open when possible (after a shower...) remember, mold have killed so many babies (breathing spores) and is one of the causes of so many breathing problems in kids and adults alike,

Bleach will not kill mold. It bleaches it. Believe me I know. I have done it. It always came back till I used sodium borate(borax) with water. Then it never came back.

hydrogen peroxide is a better alternative to bleach to get rid of mold- however it depends on the type of mold it is and if it is in a dormant state or not. Some types of mold must be re mediated/contained by licensed mold remediation professionals; what's more, some types of mold are hazardous to your health and can't be "killed" even by fire. mold has made my life miserable and has substantially drained my bank account balance. It's much more serious and complicated than the video portrays.

So many people try to say that bleach don't kill mold. I work in construction and thats what we use to kill mold on sheetrock if it got wet durring contstruction. It does work. You can litteraly watch it kill the mold. Bleach is awesome.

Where did you ever come up with this BLEACH is a thing of the past dude. Ever hear of a respirator? Got one? The common approach for the professional is to (wearing PPE) remove the contaminated drywall and allowing it to dry then replace it and texture it. If you post another one of these maybe you should get some training first. Misinforming people could put someone in the hospital.

Household bleach will evaporate before it kills mold.

The only solution is physical removal with acceptable protocol. This video shows exactly what you should NOT do. Scraping away at the mold without protective gear could cause serious injury as well as contaminating the space.

The water source should be investigated that allowed the mold in the first place. If it is the HVAC system, then that should be thoroughly examined.

If bleach doesnt kill mold then why does mold dissapear when you spray bleach on it.Ive seen mold on vynal siding and spayed straight Clorox bleach on it and it went away for a couple of years.Anywhere there is moisture there will be mold.If it goes away it will eventually come back.I dont care what you put on it.I guess people should pay some con artist thousands of dollars to tell you bleach wont kill mold and that you need to use a soda blaster and have labs test it.Like it wont come back!

I know this comment is kinda late. But someone just commented on an old post of mine too. But they say bleach dont kill mold because it will mess with the mold removing industry. People would spend less money on buying over expensive solutions, and go to the store and buy something easy and cheap. People dont understand that if you soak mold in bleach for a few minutes and then wipe it away, its gone. They're idiots.
