  • DC Direct is known for their Sculpts not in Articulations.

  • WISE CHOICE NOT MOVING OZZYMANDIAS WRIST

HAVE TO MANY WRIST BROKEN FROM DC DIRECT TOYS ME TOO BEST TO LEAVE IT BE

YOU LUCKY YOUR ROSCHARCH RIGHT HAND CAN BE REMOVED OTHER ARE VERY TIGHT

  • I've had only a couple of wrists snap on my DC Direct figures. Even then it's very easy to fix.

  • @JTMitchell87 yah but me when i snap a figures hand i throw it away i dont like looking at damage figures and dont like using super glue dont know why

anyway i didnt touch the right hand of my nite owl and ozzy dont want it damaged

  • That's such a waste. If glue doesn't work, which it rarely does, you can easily patch it up with a metal pin. The figure looks as good as new and if done right you may even be able to keep the wrist movement.

  • @JTMitchell87 yeah like you i had very few of wrist snaps so i learned from that experience, if the joint/part is tight i leave it alone happened with my lotr talking sauron

  • it is like a batarang

  • Ha! Now I finally now what that little gray triangle piece is that came with my Silk Spectre II figure!

  • Well its obvious if you pull on anything it will most likely rip or break so thats not really a "let down". I don't mind articualation just detail and rorschach has it plus im living him in the box. But oh well to each his own

  • 02:46 rorshach crys like a baby

  • Rorschach (series 1) and Comedian (series 2) are by far the best DC figures ever made.Watcmen for the win!!!

  • man im so mad with rorschatch

  • why?

  • ahha yeah sure fat nasty boy

  • Rorschach also uses the gun later to shoot a police officer point blank

    keep up the reviews :)

  • oh yea that grapple gun

  • Silk Spectre's surname is pronounced "You-Speh-Chick" :)

Great review, I'm also getting the 1/6 scale Manhattan! ;-)

  • A little tip, Super glue your moon for the belt so it could not come off and I know that Nite Owl would never have showed it in the movie

  • would you people leave this guy alone? hes a cool dude so screw off

  • Well actually in the story, Rorschach worked in a womans store and bought a dress of rorschachs and he thought of cutting it into a mask

  • Thanks, pumpkin.

  • @JTMitchell87 hes so nice.aint he?

  • And your face looks like a car ran over it again and again letuzkita14, probably cause one did.

  • If they are series 2 y the hell do they say series 1 on the box (00:43 - 00:54 (about)? :S also is there really any need for the insults?

and lastly if u feel that way why did u even open the video

  • what a ass! He is like " I was let down" by Rorschach. He should be happy he actually has rorschach. I look every where for it. All i have is: Nite Owl (Modern),The Comedian, and Ozymendias

  • I bought mine online... The one retail store around me that has these had everyone from each wave.

Not my fault Rorscach sucks as a figure.

  • @AndrewGar24 i wish i could have the modern nite owl

  • Rorschach's legs actually turn

  • don't be a jerk man.

  • seriously...and its nerdy to call ppl noobs

  • ya fuck you

  • You sound like the headmaster guy from Transformers animated....

    "TOTAL OWNAGE NOOB!"

  • about the moon thing on the belt of night owl, remember in the movie rorschach is picking it up on the table like a batarang so yeah it's like that.

  • Absolute Wathcmen book.

  • u don't think they are playable? Type in Watchmen Epsiode 1 and click on the one that has a username sam007 or something like that

  • I wanna get these, but i know that i will probably only be able to get 1 and it will stand alone and look like a total douche. If this may be i want either Nite Owl, or Roarschac

  • Actually, you can twist/swivel Rorschach's legs where they attach to the coat's base. You can't make his feet go all the way backwards, but they move enough to make it look like maybe he's twisting around mid-stride. Or ballerina feet... whatever it is you like.

  • was gunna get rorshack, but thanks to u im not geten him.THANKS FOR MAKING ME NOT BY A SHIT STANE TOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • These are fucking bad-ass figures!!! I have the main six characters minus the classics. Comedian's the sickest I think, even though he's from a different series as these four.

  • I have Rorschach and his limited articulation doesn't bother me at all. he's awesome!!

  • I'd get these but, they're $16 at my nearest Toysrus and that I haven't read or seen Watchmen. Great review!

  • I just got rorschach and dr manhattan from my local comic store for only 18 dollars total. I was shocked by that, plus they were having a 50% off anyway lol so yeah 2 for 18 dollars

  • you think these figures will be around in the summer? srry for the stupid question, i just dont have the money for it right now so i have to wait until th summer.

  • It's likely they will, if not you can try eBay.

  • nah i dont really rely on ebay, but does toy sites work, like toywiz and superherotoys?

  • I think for nite owl, that moon is not a weapon but just a loose belt accesory. That rubber band is not supposed to be used, and you should throw it away. By the way, nice review.LOL

  • It's pronounced "Vight"

  • Tizzight.

  • Where Could I Find These

  • I'm surprised that DC Direct didn't make varients of Rorschach's mask for the figures, that would have been cool. Great Review "]["

  • nice review i never noticed rorschach's symbol in the grappling gun. you should do a series 2 review

  • I'm just waiting for my set to arrive.

  • Nite Owl 2 sorta looks like Batman.

  • Nite Owl certainly never used his belt moon thing for a weapon in either the comics or the movie from what I recall, so I really can't figure why they would have added that xD Kinda makes me laugh though. I figure I'll get all these at some point, though after watching this I am truly disappointed with the utter lack of play value :[ Thanks a ton for the splendid review though~

  • Night Owl and Ozymandias are worth it. I expect the same with the Comedian and possible the original Night Owl.

It's just a shame about the others.

  • Dr. Manhattan too,he has a switchable torso, one with joint moving legs, one frozen

  • great review; I wish Rorschach could have had a ball jointed neck and articulated legs and the bottom of his trench coat was just a brown cloth

  • If only he had fully articulated legs the figure would be worth the money. As it is now he's the worst in Series 1.

  • i saw the movie yesterday

  • i lost my moon type thing that goes on Nite-Owl too

  • I'm tempted to just glue mine in.

  • yeah i can't wait to see the movie so i'm gonna see if he uses that thing on his belt as a batarang type thing

  • Like most of the adaptations, the movie changed some things.

  • i saw the movie today and he doesn't use it as ''owlarang''

  • But it is laying on the table separate and is obviously metal.

    It's possible.

  • maybe

  • I actually read a review of the Nite Owl figure and, despite the crescent not being used in the movie, the guy managed to fit it between his middle and index fingers, a bit like holding shuriken, I guess.

  • uh,i found mine,tried that,and a couple days later,the owlarang snapped in half

    just a heads up

  • i watched the movie already...and it really really sucked....i didnt like it...cuz there was not action and no one had any super powers except for the blue guy and his powers were so bizarre...i mean exploting human bodies was just horrible...cool toys by the way...

  • Obviously you've never read the graphic novel...

  • why read the novel when u ca watch the movie...i mean isn't the movie the same as the novel....

  • Not completely, but it got the general idea. And Dr. Manhattan being the only superpowered one of the bunch is actually a point being stressed in the graphic novel. That was done to make a point. And his powers delve further than blowing up people, he has control over matter and reality...although I can think of a few people I'd like to "explode" at this very moment...

  • who...ur peps....boyyyyyyy..........

  • that's okay

  • i see what you mean

  • oh what is the name of the watchmen hero is similar to robin

  • There isn't one... That I know of.

  • there isn't one

  • nite owl is a batman wannabe

  • Not necessarily. There are similarities but that can be said about many comic heroes.

  • dude i've been looking for a watchmen figure vid and i din't even see you had this until now

  • Many companys these days have abit of grease inside their figures joints over the paint so they don't get stuck while the paint is drying.

You're right, the belt part of Niteowl II is supposed to be like a batarrang type thing. I pretty much just keep the clear plastic band around it, though, since he can't really hold it.

    Great review! :)

  • hey dude looking forward to series 2 review

  • Umm... why did they feel the need to give Silk Spectre perky nipples?

  • Because she is a young strapping young woman.

  • lololol!!!

  • If the bad guy traps her, she can use them to drill her way out.

  • rorschach is my favorite character

  • Hollis Mason was the original Nite Owl.

  • And, unless they made it up for the movie, Nite Owl never used the moone for anything other than a belt buckle.

  • I want Nite Owl II to stand with my Movie Masters Dark Knight Batman

  • hey thanks for the site infor to find the toys. Ebay is raping people for these figures. I'm pretty excited about the movie. I wonder which issues they are gonna base it off.

  • do you think they'll be available at wal*mart?

  • I've never seen DC Direct stuff at any of my Wally Worlds so I'm going to have to say no.

  • some one else that says Wally World =} 5/5 another awsome review

  • can you review classics grmlock

  • Thanks for the Revwie, even though these have no play value I am so getting them just cause I love Watchmen.

  • WOW! Great Review! DC Direct does Awesome Detail but the Articulation is disappointing. I wish they did like DC Universe Classics Style for these figures. I will pick up a few of these tho.

  • wow you spent a good $80 on something you said yourselfto be "no so great".

i saw them... took a second look and just said no way....impossible.

everyones so hyped up for this movie and theres so many let downs already.

i think they should have spent more time thinking and preparing for these figures.

watchmen means so much to our society

part of me just shriveled up and died

  • ... $80? I got them for $54.

Two of the figures are great. It's the other two that bring down the quality of the set, but DC Direct is meant to be display pieces mainly so It's not much of a surprise that they have such little articulation.

  • cause at hot topic they were selling them for 19 bucks a pop?

where did you get the deal

not that im looking for one

did you buy the set as a whole?

  • Big Bad Toy Store, whole set was $54 plus shipping.

Wound up being around $60-$62 for everything.

  • Ummm....right, means heaps...for the illiterate.

  • rorschach doesn't have the ability to change the inkblots on his face...well he does but he can't control it by his emotions.....the inkblot design on his mask changes because of heat......

  • Could be counted as the same.

When he's angry his face might heat up, when he's calm he's cooled down.

  • Speaking of nipples, how rock-hard must Silk Spectre's milk saucers be to be so visible in that costume?

I suggest playing with a bit of supar glues on the base pegs, and Nite-Owl's crescent moon dicky dacky to make things fit more

  • I know when I want my peg to fit into holes better some crazy glue does the trick perfectly.

  • Poetry

  • I imagine it's cold that time of year, seeing as she can probably use her nips to carve messages and such.

  • Muhfuckas look good STANDING THERE

Like you said, the "play" factor isn't something DC Direct cares about, they just make shit meant to sit on the shelf. COLLECTOR PIECES. Few of their figures have any impressive degree of articulation. Maybe it's the "joints are ugly" school of thought.

I've had DC Direct figures break on me too. For instance - Identity Crisis Hawkman's leg snapped right off upon trying to move it the first time :( Gah

Bat nipples. excuse me while I gouge my eyes out.

  • My Sinestro's wrist snapped right off when I tried turning it, now I see one of my Guy Gardner's knees is shot. I may actually have to put a metal pin in it so he can stand.

... Though that just sounds funny to me.

  • The price we pay for actually trying to play with our toys. Such a thing is lunacy, we should know better

  • Thing is, he's been in a box for a good four months. I took him out of storage and noticed his knee was extra loose.

  • what store are these sold at

  • these are cool but they cost 35 bucks each here in australia booo

  • Ouch, the entire set only was $54 for me.

  • Comment removed

  • i dont buy them to play with them i buy them because im a fan and they are colectible. thanks for the video.

  • Sharpie marker that mole!

  • It shall be done!

  • your hair is HUGE, man

    awesome.

  • Where do you get them?

  • at a store i would imagine

  • yeah i was about to ask you when you were going to do this sweet. Thank JT man i got to get Nite Owl

  • whats "absolute watchmen" ?

  • It's the entire Watchmen story in enlarged recolored pages.

It also has a lot of bonus stuff at the end like character sketches and such.

  • oh is the big 50 dollar special version i think i saw something like that at a hobby shop

  • Normally it's around $80-$100.

  • really? In my books store the book is $50!

  • I wonder if they'll be released in regular stores? Not the DC Direct ones you have, but more articulate figures like the Movie Masters Line? Not sure who makes these, but it would be nice to have them in that scale with posability. As always, great review Mr. Mitchell. :)

  • "..all his little doo-lollies.." nice... (great review BTW)

  • i want them soooo bad

but i cant afford them :'(

  • Here we are again. You, video, and myself. We always seem to wind up in this position time and time again yet we never truly act on our desires and impulses.

If only you knew how much I wanted to hold you in my arms. To caress you. To stroke your hair. To wear your high heels.

Oh video, why must you give me those longing looks from across the room yet when I approach act as if we have nothing. Why, video. Why.

All I've wanted to say to you is... I'm your first commenter. Will you love me now?

  • only if you do a funny dance >:(
