  • i bought this guitar in 1994, it had a candy apple red finish, beautiful brilliant "pearly" tone, loved it. sadly it was stolen together with my fx board in october 1995. i'll never forget her :(

  • too bright for me...

but you can always adjust the tone...

  • @mrbluesyclue I would agree with you.. I found it a bit too bright as well.. probably why I sold it..:)

  • Dude, I have one that I bought back then with a small yamaha amp, cables, strings and the case (which rocks) all for less than $800.

However, I dont know how but the pin with the logo on the head fell and I lost it. I also changed the neck and bridge single coils for dimarzio humbuckers. It sounds great and I love it, but maybe I was a good Idea to keep it all original, I saw one in ebay selling for $1000 and change. Did I kill that guitar?

  • hey is this MIA or what?

  • what is your opinion on the celestion blue, seems like such a dope speaker

  • @diminishedlogic

I Love Love Love the Celestion Blue.. it is truly one of my favorite all time speakers however in all honesty it's not something I would use on it's own as it lacks in highs and chime.. super creamy & warm but in my opinion it needs to be matched up with a brighter speaker like a Vintage 30 or something similar. In that respect it's one of the best speakers I have every used.

  • It really seems like its a speaker in a class of its own. really rich in all the right detailed areas for a guitar.... if it wasnt so damn expensive... I'm gonna just use 1 speaker in a 1 x 12 have you ever used it in this configuration

  • @diminishedlogic In all honesty if I was going to use one speaker in a 1x12 Cab I would use a Hellatone.. which is basically a Celestion Vintage 30 that has been broken in at the factory..Check them out.. Super chimey and still lots of warmth. In my opinion to use the Alnico Blue on it's own in a 1x12 cab would not offer enough brightness and chime. I owned a vox amp with two Alnico blues and to me there was just not enough chime or brightness.

  • I once had a hellatone avatar cab, it was good. I will definitly consider it since you seem to be well versed in speakers,,, im buying a lopoline lightweight cab can you recommed any eminece speakers?

  • No offense but I am not a big fan of Eminence speakers. If you want a better speaker than the Hellatone I would highly recommend going with an Electrovoice EV 12L. Truly one of the best speakers on the market. There is one on Ebay going for $75 which is a great price! If it was a 16 ohm I would have already snagged it. Great speakers! Happy New Year!

  • you are using the laney lh 50 in this video?

  • That is correct.. into a 2x12 cab loaded with a Celestion Blue and a Vintage 30 speaker.. Check the info in the above right hand corner.

    Thanks

  • how much will a guitar like that cost?

  • I just sold this one for $699. They normally sell between $700 to $1200 or so. Peace

    Christopher

  • It actually looks black unless im going color blind. i like your phantom of the opera mask. keep up the great sound samples.

  • It's just the poor quality camera and lighting that makes it look black. It's a nice purple. You can check out my Ebay user name under indigoresonance to see better pictures.
