  • @mannymm25 the link is in the description to where i got it from... if its stil there, if it isnt god knows where you'd hve to get it :/ sorry!

  • @emmatuck thanks:)

  • Annie is incredible!

  • If there is one song i would have on my funeral, it will be this.. so sad but yet hopeful.

  • This is so terribly sad. </3 But such a beautiful song and video.

  • Wow, it is so wonderful! R.I.P. Dr. Tolkien you are one of the greatest humans in history!

  • Frodo and Sam's friendship is the purest friendship you can imagine. every time i think of them and their selflessness, it moves me to tears. and the grey havens scene when the music goes up and they hug (the most emotional hug ever), it just breaks my heart.

this is a lovely song and a lovely video. great compilation with 2 of my favourite characters from the trilogy

  • The most beautiful friendship ever written in a novel and captured on film.

  • The part with Frodo and Sam at the Grey Havens aaaalways makes me cry in the movie. And it fits so well with the part of the song that you put it with! Thanks for posting this. :) <3

  • I just love Annie Lennox...even now, in her 50s, she still has that ethereal quality in her vocals that makes you sit up and listen.

  • Ha, Pip got the flowers ;D

That PJ thinks of a lot n.n

    And I love the hat on lil' Frodo x}

  • I love this soooo much! The music and video really show the heart of the special friendship between Frodo and Sam. Just fantastic! Thank you Emmatuck.

  • thank you and your welcome :) xxx

  • @emmatuck do you know where i could download this song. i really want it and i would really appreciate your help

  • @mannymm25 You can get it off itunes.

  • Thank God WMG doesn't have rights to this song!

  • Oh lord. That was one of the better videos I've seen in a while for Sam. I loved it's simple quality and how it said so much with so few words. I also like how you ended it with my favourite last line ever " Well, I'm back." Thank you!

  • Your welcome :) That is my favorite line as well, n the film and the book :D hehe

  • i love ro listen to it because of thhe end and the lovely voice of frodo, such relaxing.

    thank you for uploading

  • Oh wow. I didn't even know they had written, composed and performed a song from Frodo to Sam. I'm guwssing this might have been mentioned in the extended edition DVD extras which I never watched all through... Anyway, beautiful video!! And I love the song... though I love Into the West more.

  • "The suggestions that have been made that I 'disapprove' of the films, vent to the extent of thinking ill of those with whom I may differ, are wholly without foundation."

    - Christopher Tolkien

p.s. thank you for the video upload. the music of the movie is one of my favorite elements of the entire production :)

  • This is astoundingly beautiful the song and the video, don't listen to all those people who tell you it's rubbish because it isn't!

  • stop having arguments on my video please ! if you got a problem with someone take it outside lol to the mail box!! :P thanks :)

  • ive done a video response check it out

  • The vid really fits into the song. Nice job!

  • I must say, Annie Lenox is a great singer! The video fits pretty well into the story line of the song as well. You did a great job!

  • As someone who has been an avid Annie Lennox fan for some 27 years, I can say this is definitely her singing a beautiful song, but I must admit that the video doesn't do the song justice. But thank you for sharing the beautiful song with us, emmatuck!

  • lamlyn:

I speak some Elvish, read the books five times a year, but that's not my whole life! Please, try to be open that some of us here are mothering three children at age 14, as well as taking care of grandparents.

  • i recommend u read the sillmarillion or Tolkien's histroy of middle earth books because they are brilliant and i can speak elvish lol (the Quenya form only because not as much of the Sindarin form is known as the Quenya form) so any elvish u need to know im here

  • Wow.. this made me cry seriously..

  • Reading Lord of the Rings five times a year (like me :XD lol) is definitely using well the days!

  • i love this film im glad you can subscribeb it

  • You did a nice job on this one. Well done!

  • "Farewell to Middle-earth at last, I see the Star above thy mast!"-Bilbo's Last Song, J.R.R.Tolkien

  • Amazing video! *****

  • thank you !!

  • I want it to be played when I 'll die

  • If ever there was a song that was "too" good, it'd be this one.

  • In the extended ed of the movies, it is explained that this was the first song they wrote for RotK, but they didn't think it really fit. Into the West was made not only for the movie, but in remembrance of a teenage guy that visited the set. I think he had cancer, but he really wanted to be a producer. But after his set visit, he passed away. Therefore, Into the West was featured.

  • is this in the movie? where?

  • i'm sooo glad they put the walking song in here.

    and i think it's bilbo's version...but i might be wrong.

  • It's the version Frodo sings before he meats the Elves in the last chapter, before he sets sail for Valinor.

  • I love this song. The some of the first part is from "A Walking Song" from the Fellowship of the Ring. I believe the chapter is Three Is Company.

  • I love this song.... But I am too much sensitive in these days...so what happens??? I cry!!!!

    I can´t stop crying!!! :(

    Nice vid! Nice song! *****

    lovely frienship!!!!

  • Don't cry okay ???

I'm always here for you =))) *hug*

  • U are an angel for me!!!!♥♥

  • It's ok to cry, it's not good for the soul to bottle up feelings. :)

  • The sheet music for this piece is in the Return of the King piano book though, so I'm happy it got some recognition in that :)

  • This is a beautiful song, and I like how they used quotes from the book.

I'm still happy that they decided on Into the West instead though. I think the melody, tone, and words of the song fit the ending and credits of the movie more than this would have done. I do wish this was on the OST though...

  • I think Into The West is more "official" as it were, or a collective thing (Elves, hobbits who are into Elvish stuff, etc). This song however is more personal to Frodo, very very personal, and its choice of quotes is interesting to say the least. The Green World is a little known draft by Tolkien, a version of a "happy ending" for the tale; "Night too shall be beautiful" is Frodo's quote of Arwen's wedding, and a ref to the old Cosmology; the White Tree is about Numenor... it's not accidental...

  • Yes, this song took more directly from Tolkien's work, and is a very good song. Along with "Into the West", the songs written for this movie were, in my opinion, the best in the series. "Into the West" was, I believe, written to sound like a song Galadriel is singing (which I also think is why they wanted Annie Lennox's voice). I always associate this song with Frodo and Sam.

  • "Tall ships and tall kings

    Three times three,

    What brought they

    From the foundered land

    Over the flowing Sea?

    Seven Stars and Seven Stones

    And one White Tree."

  • 'From the corer there may wait

A new road or a secret gate

And though I oft have passed them by

A day will come at last when I

Shall take the hidden paths that run

West of the Moon and East of the Sun'

  • beautiful, this song is so good

  • This song is pure Tolkien. Very beautiful. Annie Lennox's voice is so haunting. Fantastic choice of clips and pacing - great vic.

  • i can't believe i've never heard this before =0

    i love it =]

for a true Tolkienite, to actually hear this poem/song made into a song is amazing =]]

  • I think you'd say "Tolkienoligist".That's what I say, and am.

  • que c'est beau

    que beleza

  • Do you speak Elvish?

  • why in the hell did they replace this with into the west with this?

  • I think it's really good that Annie (or someone who writes her songs) used like quotations of the book (or the film). It only makes the song... even closer to Tolkien and to my heart.

And yeah, I should comment this vid. Good job, I like it. xD

  • I don't know why, but I'm happy they used Into the West instead. I think it goes more with the journey, and then Frodo leaving to the sea.

  • Well done!

  • love it! very sad its not on the soundtrack. is it on any other CD? maybe Annie Lennox put it on one of her CD's??

  • It's on the Special Edition of the Third Soundtrack.. on an extra DVD.

oh.. i haven'd heard this for ages.. it's so beautiful!

and Ilove that its compleatly with phrases of the book!

  • i love this song so much

im so sad it wasnt on the original soundtrack

  • perfect pure ANNIE LENNOX voice ... just divine !

  • i love this vidoe i tso cool and so sad

  • amazing..

  • absolutely brilliant!!! no more to say

  • nice beginning.

    nice middle, too.

and nice ending....damn, this is SUCH a beautiful video! and song!!

  • There are no words for a true Ringer to say what the song means to me. This little video was beautiful. God bless Tolkien.

  • Amen, my friend, you said it beautifully. Ringers forever, I couldn't be prouder to be one.

  • What is a Ringer...?

  • A "Lord of the Rings" fan. Tolkienite, Ringer, same thing.

  • Oh, I see! Thanks.

  • Is there a possibility to give more than five stars?!?

    I'd definitely like to!

    GREAT!

  • i love this video it so cool and sweet

  • Oh my gosh, you put this together soooo well!I loved how the videos went together with the music, especially that last part. Awesome!

  • wow this is beautiful, man your awesome with videos, suprised your not as popular as Wookie Fragger lol. mind you wookie fragger is very controversal (spelling) and ppl seemed to be drawn to that and either spit in his face or agree lol. You should be praised just for ur work on these vids aaand the mad ones :P

  • I love it! Where do you acquire this song? I've looked for it but I didn't want to scourge around for another edition of the soundtrack just for one song...

  • That's just great!

  • yeah, how did u get the song? its not on iTunes, is it on one of her cds? i know the song was supposed to take the place of into the west, but they thought into the west was more relavant so they cut it out. and its not on the complete recordings, but it should be on the new booklet and cd coming out in november, with all the unused themes and songs and stuff.

  • ...this is Annie Lennox , sure

    magic voice again !!! Wonderful

but where does this song come from ?!

  • wow im gobsmacked...literally i absolutely ADORED the beginning where the sketch was transformed into the actual picture :O and the song was beautiful and the vid overall was fantastic!!! 5*s and faved! beautiful!
