@sadragne1 Although the 1000D isn't a bad camera you are absolutely right. These pictures are amazing. And now the 1100D is out the 1000D is quite a bargain when you can get one new. I've seen one just over 200€ with the 18-55mm kit lens. Can't do nothing wrong with it :)

The point is that even with the cheapest DSLR and Kit lens, one can make great photos so why bother stressing about how "good" or "bad" your camera is? These pictures taken with a cheap DSLR are better than most of the shit you'll see on Leica M9 owners forums

@littleMIssOsen Have a wide aperture setting which will focus on the subject and blur the background. if you are taking a macro photo it is sometime easier to put your hand behind the, lets say, flower. then half press the shoot button and let auto-focus do the rest, then remove your hand and then you have a blurry background

Nice Pictures but many of them are made with HDR i think. HDR maks great pictures but it´s also very easy. If it is no HDR it is a lot of photoshop.

There is no such thing as "no editing" in digital photography as your camera

does the edits for you when you shoot jpeg. That's why shooting RAW is highly recommended. Want proof? Find one professional or commercial digital photographer who does not edit their photos. You won't be able to.

It's pretty easy to switch to liveview on the Canon 1000D. On the "wheel" on the top you set the setting to P and press the "SET" button and the liveview should be activaced.
