Yeah, hitting the first boss with a grenade and then pausing while he's flashing creates a loop that keeps damaging him. So you wait 10-20 seconds and resume the game and it's as if you hit him with 20 grenades and he dies. having said that i failed completely at this game because after that boss it was unclear where I had to go next.

Blaster Master was my greatest challenge and favorite game relative to my time spent with Nintendo. The only way I could finish Blaster Master was with Nintendo's Game Genie along with the super charged remote control (I'm forgetting the technical name). Good times, and a good way to waste four years of life lol.

Apparently this guy didn't know about the grenade trick for all the even number bosses. You tag them with a grenade, then pause the game while the still flashing with the Select button so that it stays on the screen instead of going to the inventory screen. Leave it paused for at least a minute or two. When you unpause it, the boss will be dead!

Honestly, WHY IS THERE NO PASSWORD for this game? I have never understood that. That is the main reason i never played this on the NES. I can only play this game on an emulator with save states.

@boohbah666 I am 31 years old and I totally know that. The thing with Blaster Master is it is super hard, super cheap, and super long. Every other game had 1, maybe 2 of those without a save feature. That is my gripe. TMNT is hard, but I beat it in one run. I did the same with Ninja Gaiden. Both of those games were average length, Blaster Master is NOT.

Also, my farts GTA3 is better than GTA4. San Andreas definitely, Vice City possibly... but not GTA3. It was good in its day, but it's a buggy and unrefined experiment that hasn't stood the test of time.

I actually played one of the sequels on the Playstation first, but I'm amazed at how close they kept it, it has the same music, and stuff, but the storyline is a lot more serious in it.

Either way the games are great, and I'm surprised more people don't know about them.

Yeah, there have been a few games that mix things up like that over the years. Space Rogue, Sentinel Worlds and Hard Nova come to mind. Can't think of one made in the last 15 years or so. A proper 3D game like that would be lovely.
