  • I like the part she drifted.

  • Interesting, how even the model, running too fast, captures some of the grace and elegance of the original. Must be that they got the basic design right, from an aesthetic point of view, all those years ago. Thanks for the posting.

  • I thought it was the SS Poseidon at first...

  • VERY NICE MODEL!

  • Wow man thats pretty cool. where did u get it?

  • WOW! very nice work

  • Thank you!

  • No bow wave at all. COOl!

  • I've been looking for someone to make me an RC model of the Normandie for quite some time, alas, with no luck. Do you know of anyone, or maybe you? Who'd be able to craft me one?

  • Nice model.

I don't think the film quite shows its true scale tho. :)

  • i vote 5 high rate of this best R/C queen mary model ship..very beautifully

  • I am so grateful to you for showing your really good models on YouTube. Great work!

  • where did you get the ship? ive been looking for one for a while

  • He made it from scratch. He makes many fine ships.

  • As I said, I prefer to run it at a higher speed for Youtube viewers so it's not so boring. Thanks.

  • nice- but slow it down eh?

  • ...actually I just ran her at that speed for the video cause I thought people would be bored with scale speed.

  • I agree with greenseaships, One thing I learned from you tube, its either too boring, or 'fake'. Nice ship green, Im thinking of getting into the hobby, im taking in some knowledge at rcgroups ;)

  • looks sweet :) I have a couple of my ships on the site as well, not quite as big as Greensea's QM.

on the speed issue, the queens during ww2 operated alone without escort as they were the fastest thing on the water, the mary is a blue ribband boat, and was in a close race against another liner, The Normandie.

  • mastersteamtug is correct, the model is beautiful, but the Queen was zipping along like a speedboat. If only it was possible to both handle her speed as accurately as the scale sizing of the model itself and also create a decent wake that would add to the visual effect.

  • Absolutely gorgeous! I would love to learn how you did this, the plans, R/C and how long it took. This is my favourite ship and I only have the two 1/600 scales I've built.

  • I often thought RC models should not only represent an actual acurate scale of the ships in question, but also of their top speed on the water. The QM would look so much more stately manuevering at slow speed in restricted waters. i.e. POND / HARBOUR

  • I'd love to learn more about how you assembled the model and the propulsion used. I'd like a model like this for myself!

  • Simply ace!

The video provides no hint about the size (8'6"), or for that matter the weight.

  • its actually cardboard!
