  • hahahaha I would amaze people like you.

  • I completely understand...deadlines. They are no fun.

  • Were you out of dried peas and wood blocks?

  • @DerangedRanger1

I was- and no time to go to the store.

  • I must protest, although the George Brecht piece is quite brilliant in its interpretation, I feel it leans very heavily on the classic piece 4' 33" by John Cage which was originally written for grand piano, but the full magnificence of the piece can only be appreciated on you Youtube video

John Cage - 4'33'' for large orchestra

    Affectionately your

    C. Nile.

  • You're right- there are numerous pieces that basically take off on Cage's, but with many of the Fluxus artists they also add a more absurd performative element- like the leaning of the piano bench- which I quite enjoy.

The more instruments that can be involved in 4'33" the better!

  • haha, brililant.

  • Thanks ;)

  • hip

  • THanks

  • I just watched this twice. Once with sound. Once without. Ken's right. You're pushing boundries of what a ukulele video on youtube can be.

  • Thanks Ben. They really knew what they were doing in the 60s ;)

  • the sophisticated dialectic between the incidental and the intentional astounds me!

Cage and Brecht et al would be either very pleased or have gone home to let someone else tell them about it!

Bizarre--art school maybe but on ukeTube? IS this supposed to be progressive or retrogressive? I think I'm in a Po-Mo recursion...help

  • lol- I'm a PoMo MoFo.

If I did Nam June Paik's "Solo for Violin" on a ukulele maybe it would be more appropriate for the uketube.

  • That's deep, Mary-Anne...

  • ...thanks, Baron.

  • Anyone who thinks that this is a silent piece, try watching it with the sound turned down - it's different.

    I shall give it 5.

    KEN

  • Thanks, Ken. I thought you'd appreciate it.

  • Do you have the chords for this?

  • No, but she has the tab(by)!

    /meh

  • They're pretty much the same as for John Cage's 4'33", I think.

  • love this song, M-A!

    cat butt ftw!

  • FTW? More like All The Time.

  • Groovy!

  • Thanks, man.
